Rudyard Kipling said, “God cannot be everywhere, so He created mothers.” But little did he realise that God would incarnate in the human form and shower the love of a thousand mothers all at one go, at the same time, to every being in the Universe. May 13 is dedicated to all Mothers and celebrated as ‘Mothers Day’, and though Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai Baba has reminded all several times that it is not about celebrating the mother on one particular day, as she needs to be celebrated every single day for all her sacrifices and selfless deeds, it is definitely a day to offer gratitude to the Divine Mother for all that she continues to do for her children in all worlds, out of Her compassion and mercy. So, an emotional morning was about to unfold, as Swami entered the Prayer Hall for the Public Satsang. From beautiful roses to cards, devotees and students were exuding their love for Bhagawan, the Jagan Matha, the source of all existence and sustenance of this creation!

The devotees of Singapore were all set and ready to offer a bouquet of songs at Bhagawan’s Lotus Feet. The songs heightened all emotions, and one could see even Bhagawan visibly moved and touched. Then, and now; physical or subtle, seeing the Lord cry touches the core of the heart, and stirs the soul. There was not a dry eye in the Hall, for every heart cried for its Divine Mother who was seated in front of them, in Her cosmic form. After a group photograph with His ‘Singapore Gang’ as He fondly calls them, Swami beckoned young Avi Gopinath, a student of First Year Pre University to address the gathering. He and his brother Rishi who hail from Canada joined the Institution last academic year, and have been under the Divine transformative influence. Today, their only desire is to serve in Swami’s mission. Avi traced the journey from the time Swami asked them to join, while He was visiting the UK. Swami then called upon Rishi as well to speak, who poured his heart out thanking Swami for all that He has done for them. Swami showered His blessings on both and gifted them with tokens of His love, and a cherished photograph.

The next speaker was Dev Archan from Singapore. Having studied Petroleum Engineering, Swami has asked Dev to relocate from Malaysia to Singapore a few months ago. He said, “The only thing I have learnt is that we are with God, and we simply have to follow Him. When I walk around with a camera in hand, trying to take pictures of Swami, He often tells me to just capture Him in the heart, instead of the camera. This is all God’s immense love and mercy.”

Sri B N Narasimha Murthy reminisced how his mother had blessed him when he took to the path of God. He urged all parents to allow their children to walk in the footsteps of God, should they insist or even show a little interest. He appealed that God is above mother and father, and narrated the example of Bharatha, who gave up his mother when she came between Lord Rama and him.

Swami in His divine discourse said that for all the creatures in the Universe, mother is verily their life. “There is nothing greater than mother’s love. There is no mother without a child, or a child without mother; this is an inseparable relationship. Therefore, the first place is given to mother in all cultures. Mother is verily your God. What is that quality which makes her equal to God? It is selfless love and sacrifice. These two qualities are in God and Mother. As long as the mother has infinite selfless love, one can say mother is equal to God. When selfishness takes over due to the changing times, then a mother looses the status of God. As long as one has selfless love and sacrifice and an urge to serve others, they are God.”

Swami spoke at length about Mother Easwaramma, and said that she was a very great and chaste lady. “When I declared that I am Sathya Sai Baba, many devotees began to come from all over the world to offer service. She came and prayed for a hospital, good drinking water and a school. She always prayed for the welfare of others, and such a mother became equal to God. Her heart was full of sacred love, and she never worked for any selfish desires.

There are many expectations in the mothers today because of worldly desires, and they also induce desires in their children. Mothers must demonstrate the great ideal of devotion, sacrifice, and selfless service. Parents should take children to God, and similarly, children should take their parents to God. Mutually, they should help each other towards God!”

Mangala Arati was offered, and Bhagawan proceeded to partake His lunch with all the Mothers. He stopped mid way in the garden and clicked individual photographs with few lucky guests and staff. The lunch was a wonderful session, and absolutely touching to see the Mother of all Mothers dole out pot loads of love and compassion to everyone seated, as He blessed each Mother seated with Prasadam, before retiring for the afternoon.

May 13 - Evening.

As Bhajans began around 5 p.m. Swami came down to the Hall like an excited child! He is, when He has to distribute sarees! The colour of the sarees, the shade, the border and pallu design, the Lord decides on everything! And it is an amazing experience to simply watch Him in the midst of the saree selection and distribution. Endearing, to say the least! Boys running up and down to get more sarees, volunteers running behind the Lord one after the other, to ensure there is a steady supply going to Him, and of course every guest, staff and student eagerly waiting to get a saree from the Lord’s hands. At the end, it’s almost like a war is over! The Lord has won and is mighty pleased and beams triumphantly as He sees a saree in every hand. Simply watching the whole process is cuteness personified! Only and only God can do this!

As Swami took His seat, an evening of music was about to unfold. A special programme of songs in various languages including English, Kannada, Hindi, Tamil and Greek were put together by youth, students, staff and devotees. From a five-year-old Sai Narayan from Greece who sang ‘You are my sunshine Swami’, to an elderly ardent devotee Ms Rita Danielle; from a Carnatic self composed swaram by Dr Hiramalini Sheshadri, to a hilarious song by Mr Cass Smith as he pleaded with the Lord to take him around the world with Him (and Swami kept saying ‘No’ in a nonchalant way, resulting in ripples of laughter); from an emotional ‘O Maa O Maa’ by the students to an upbeat Greek song by Mrs Anna Papamarkou, to many other songs, it was an entertaining evening for the Lord. A few Tamil compositions on mother on demand by the Mother of Mothers, Sai Ma, brought tears to Her own eyes. All the songs were wonderfully arranged and accompanied on the piano by Swami’s very own magician musician Dimitris Lambrianos. The room reverberated in divine love, and Swami urged everyone to share this love with others who may not be fortunate enough to experience it. “This love alone can transform others. If you light one candle, you can light many more. Light is the same, candles may be many. Likewise, what you have felt and whatever you feel, share with everyone.”

Mangala Arati was offered, and Swami proceeded yet again to the dining hall to partake His dinner with all the guests.

YOUR MISSION CONTINUES.

las tres o cuatro de la mañana, en el Brahma Muhurtha, y empieza a orar;

NADA NI NADIE PUEDE DETENER SU SANKALPA(Voluntad Divina).

NOTHING NOR ANYBODY, YOU CAN STOP YOUR SANKALPA (Divine Will).

The story of the Hill Top Bungalow in Kodaikanal, of how it came to Swami in physical and was sold by Him in physical only to return to Him in subtle, is a very interesting one.

It is perched on the highest point in Kodaikanal, close to the golf club. It is a century-old edifice built by the father of Dr. Ida Scudder, an American woman who remained unmarried in the service of Jesus through service of the poor, and founded the prestigious Christian Medical College in Vellore.

The bungalow changed hands many times. It was owned by the Birlas when they gifted it to Swami in the early ‘90s. However, except for Swami’s annual Kodaikanal trips with His students, when He would visit the bungalow for one lunch session, it remained mostly unused and unkempt. In 2008, Swami wanted to build houses for the flood victims of Odisha and was seemingly running short of funds, so He decided to sell this property to one of His close devotees, who was an industrialist. The bungalow now belonged to the devotee’s company, although he had no use for it, for he had purchased it to help Swami.
------

Things were going on well when, all of a sudden, we received a message from the devotee who owned the bungalow that unfortunately, it would not be available for our use this summer (2015) due to some local issues. While the others thought differently, my little experience with Swami made me understand that it had more to do than just local issues! Those who did not wish the retreat to happen had exerted substantial pressure on the owner, and he had succumbed. The only option was to buy out the property. As if Swami read my thoughts, He told me to call up C. Sreenivas Sir and tell him to offer the owner a handsome price to purchase the property under the Trust that he looked after. That was kind of a surprise bordering on shock for him, as it wasn’t easy to gather such large amount in such a short time, but he followed Swami’s command. On May 1st, Swami advanced a cheque towards the agreement for purchasing the bungalow, which was accepted by the owner on May 5, 2015, and thus a sale agreement was signed that enabled us to use the bungalow on May 10, just five days later.

Just as we started our journey, we found out to our astonishment that those who did not wish the retreat to happen, had called up the owner that very morning, and offered to purchase the property, in a desperate last attempt to sabotage the summer camp at Kodai. However, they were late by five days, as the bungalow had already been sold to Swami.

In the very first Kodaikanal trip, Swami had declared that the bungalow that He had sold to the company of the devotee was always His and would come back to Him eventually. We all had a sneak peek into His infallible master plan, as per which Swami had sold the bungalow in 2008, to raise funds for the housing project for the flood victims of Odisha, so that when He needed it in 2015, He could buy it back!

During the Kodai trip, the devotees from Singapore happily offered to purchase the property for Swami and, as of today, this most magnificent edifice that stands tall atop the highest hill of Kodai, officially belongs to Swami and now is blessed to witness the ‘Divine love affair’ every summer, for ages to come.

“Tattva Sameeksha”_"Todas tus responsabilidades son mías. Cuidaré de todo. Tú solo sirve a Mis hijos "._07-05-2018.

Tú solo sirve a Mis hijos ".

Tú sólo sirve a Mis hijos ".

Sri Puttaparthi Nilayudu, Kapadu Ninnu Karunakarudai
Cheyyipatti Ninnu Brochuvu
Ee Pattuna vidavakunda Elunu Ninnu.

Estoy harto.

‘Abhayam Sarva Bhuutebhyo Dadaami Etad Vratam Mama’, said Lord Rama.

Entonces Krishna dijo, ‘Theshaam Nithyaabhi Yuktanaam Yogakshemam Vahamyaham’.

Krishna said, ‘Aham Twam Sarva Papebhyo Moksayisyami Ma Sucah’.

" Chaipatti kapaadute deeksha deeksha, dijo Swami.

“All your responsibilities are Mine. I will look after everything. You just serve My children”.

Today, fresh from the oven, I wanted to share this nice incident with you all. You have seen that we have been growing as an institution at all levels. Now, more and more people are joining, be it in education, healthcare or be it just devotees who are coming and participating in various activities or the devotees who are abroad doing amazing things for Swami on His command. This family is growing and growing every day. So, obviously a staff who felt probably neglected in all this fanfare was a little distressed, a little disappointed perhaps. And he started thinking that probably it’s time for him to look out because he was not getting the best of the things over here, perhaps it’s time for him to find greener pastures. While he developed this kind of feeling, fortunately he prayed to Swami. Many of us in negative times like these are so overpowered by our ego and attachments that we forget to pray to Him to rescue and save us from our own selves. But luckily, this devotee sent out a prayer to Swami. “Swami! This is it. I have these many problems at home, in my family. I have so many responsibilities, commitments, but you see I am working for You but I am not able to make two ends meet”. The first reaction from me as Madhusudan was, ‘My God! How can somebody even say something like this? Swami is giving so much love that cannot be even valued. How can someone even think of leaving Him or His work and look for things so worldly just for the sake of a little extra benefits. How can somebody forego this wonderful opportunity which one cannot gain back once lost for the sake of a few additional comforts’. This was my first reaction. Even when I felt it this way, I went and told Swami, ‘This is a staff, he is praying thus and it’s up to You, whatever decision You take, we will simply blindly follow’. Then Swami said, “Call him”. He had never spoken to him so personally in all these years. Obviously, the staff perhaps felt neglected. I was thinking how Swami was going to solve this because it seemed to me that the staff had made up his mind to go away. Swami called him, put His hand on the staff and said, “All your responsibilities are Mine. I will look after everything. You just serve My children”. And the man who was in the middle age was sobbing like a baby. I had to console him for he was not able to contain the outburst of all the pent up emotions.

This reminded me of poem penned by Swami decades ago:

Sri Puttaparthi Nilayudu, Kapadu Ninnu Karunakarudai
Cheyyipatti Ninnu Brochuvu
Ee Pattuna vidavakunda Elunu Ninnu.

This is what Swami told devotees way back, probably in 40’s.

He said, “This Lord of Puttaparthi will protect you as the embodiment of compassion. He will hold your hand and take you forward. And He will not let go of this hold.”

This is what He said way back and I am seeing this happen even today. We are trying to wrest our hands out of His grip, ‘Leave me alone, I need to go I am done with all these things. I am fed up. This is all.’ Yet, with compassion for that one single staff out of hundreds of children and devotees, He finds time to call, makes him sit at His feet and gives him His word.

‘Abhayam Sarva Bhuutebhyo Dadaami Etad Vratam Mama’, said Lord Rama.

Those who surrender to Me, it’s my pledge that I will give Abhaya (Fearlessness) to them.

The devotee who came shaking with fear about his future went back sobbing, drenched in tears of gratitude and with great courage that he can face life again.

So Krishna said, ‘Theshaam Nithyaabhi Yuktanaam Yogakshemam Vahamyaham’.

I will take care of their good here, there and everywhere and their Yogakshema (the highest good), I will ensure.

Krishna said, ‘Aham Twam Sarva Papebhyo Moksayisyami Ma Sucah’.

I will redeem you of all your sins and I will grant you freedom from your own self. That is My vow.

‘Chaipatti Kapaadute Deeksha Naku,’ said Swami. To hold their hands and protect them who stray away from the noble path is My pledge.

I was so touched by this gesture of Swami because I had come clouded with my own opinion, judgment and perception, my own calculations of how much that person deserves or does not deserve but when it came to Swami, no calculations, no accounting, no balance sheets. Simply He puts His hand and says ‘You have come to Me asking for My refuge. Here I pledge to take care of all your responsibilities.’ And I saw that in action. I have seen it any number of times, just that this happened today and I was so overwhelmed.

***********************************************************************************************

May 12 - Morning.

A bright, sunny morning yet again ensured that soon after breakfast, Swami would walk to the Prayer Hall, instead of arriving by car. And so it was, Swami walked from the Bungalow down to the Prayer Hall. Actually, one has reached a point of understanding that there is only one, and no two - Swami and Brother Madhusudan. So when Brother Madhusudan walks, one assumes it is the way Swami is walking. This whole phenomenon of the subtle form is surely intriguing and mystifying to many, but as the days roll by one thing is certain and clear, this is something for the heart, and can never be fathomed by the mind. The heart knows, and it sure does...as for how long can someone feign being able to see the Divine or communicate whatever He says! No way! And of course all the work that is going on around the world is sheer proof that NONE of them are even remotely and humanly thinkable!

Though the morning was sunny, a cool breeze did descend upon the Hill, and as Swami walked into the Prayer Hall, the soul stirring Bhajans seemed to caress the inner core of the being. The first speaker of the morning was Ankit Kumar. He joined the Institution few years ago and now on Swami’s command is pursing his Chartered Accountancy. He recalled some very emotional moments with Swami and offered his gratitude to the Lord for having picked him to serve at a Campus, which will be established in his home town in Bihar in the future.

The second speaker for the morning was Dr Deekshith Shashidharan, a resident doctor at Waynad Institute of Medical Sciences in Kerala, who has been an ardent devotee of Bhagawan since childhood. He narrated instances from his life, and thanked Swami profusely for being his guiding light with a pledge that he would do anything for Swami and His Mission.

Sri B N Narasimha Murthy reminisced Swami’s visit to Kodaikanal many decades ago. He narrated how Swami would pose for photographs, and other instances which were great opportunities for the students who travelled with Him. Speaking of the boys who preceded his talk, he said the future of Swami’s mission was safe in the hands of youngsters like them.

Swami started His divine discourse by saying that He brings back His people again and again.
“Like a drama director who prepares a script for a new drama, he chooses actors to play new roles. Dramas may be different, roles may be different, but the actors are those whom he likes. When you stage a drama on Ramayana or Bhagawatam, the same person is likely to play the role of both Rama and Krishna.

In Kali Yuga, the same Lord has incarnated as Sathya Sai, and apart from the hero, there will be many co-actors. God brings down with Him the same actors to play different roles in different dramas. Those whom I consider Mine, and those who consider Me as theirs, keep coming back! All of us have been together for many lifetimes.” Speaking of the two young speakers, Swami said, “Even at a very tender age these two boys have so much of devotion. When the time is ripe, a seed sprouts and becomes a tree. The seed of devotion was not planted today, they were sown long back! On this stage of the world, all are actors, playing various roles. And all are doing things as per the command of the Director. He knows what is going to happen. Out of so many people, you are near Swami and listening to Him! All these actors should be examples, and by your example other people will derive inspiration. Have the lofty feeling that in this drama of Swami, you should play ideal roles!”

Mangala Arati was offered, and then Swami walked back to the Bungalow. After granting a few interviews, Swami came down to distribute cameras to His students who were coming to Kodaikanal for the very first time. He then proceeded to the dining hall to partake His lunch with the guests, before resting for the afternoon.

May 12 - Evening

After granting a few interviews, Swami came down to the Bhajan Hall, where everyone were seated, eagerly waiting with bated breath to witness the unfolding of another intimate evening with their sweet Lord Sathya Sai. Yet again, Swami commanded students from the Bhajan group to render a few classical compositions. It was a blissful hour of listening to the students sing, and even more blissful to watch Swami interact with them.

After the music recital, Swami looked to the right of His chair where there was seated a boy, all of 15 and asked Him to speak. Anand Sai, who hails from a devoted family from Bidar in Karnataka narrated his story with Sai, which won everyone’s heart. When Anand Sai expressed his gratitude for bringing everyone to Kodai, he recollected what Swami had said last year, ‘You are here not because of My will, but because of My mercy’, and this touched every beating heart. Laced with inadvertent humour, his talk sent ripples of laughter across the hall.

Thereafter, Swami called upon Bhupal Chidambhar, an alumnus from Alike and Muddenahalli Campus, and soon to be a student again, as with Swami’s blessings he would be joining the Sri Sathya Sai University for Human Excellence to undertake research. He spoke about his teachers and revered Sri Madiyal Narayan Bhat, who have been great inspirations to him. He submitted that these teachers have been more than his parents and was filled with gratitude to Swami for blessing him with such noble teachers.

Swami then called another alumnus, Victory Craxi to address the gathering. Victory who is currently an Ayurveda Doctor in Milan, was born in Swami’s Whitefield Hospital, and had studied for 12 years at Prasanthi Nilayam. An emotional Victory traced his journey from his birth with Swami, and broke down several times during his speech. It was endearing to watch Swami comforting Victory and wiping his tears away.
Swami then briefly spoke about how the goal and purpose of life should be to reach God, though the paths may be different. Mangala Arati was offered, and Swami proceeded to dine with the guests, before retiring for the night.

YOUR MISSION CONTINUES.
