Habiendo nacido en una tierra, tan sagrada, tan santa, tan grandiosa como Bharat; uno debe desarrollar un sentido de orgullo siendo ciudadano de un país antiguo y tan glorioso. Lo que no está en Bharat, en este país de la India no existe en ninguna parte del mundo. Ya sea que lo mires desde el punto de vista geográfico, o cultural o desde la diversidad de religiones, todo lo que está disponible en el mundo también está aqui en la India. Esta es la tierra que ha resistido todo tipo de ataques, y disturbios por parte de aquellos que buscaron su riqueza, prosperidad y aún sobrevivieron, a diferencia de otras culturas.
Incluso con 1250 millones de personas distribuidas en varios estados hablando diferentes idiomas, comiendo diferentes alimentos, usando diferentes tipos de ropa, todas las principales religiones son seguidas en armonía en nuestro país, por nuestra gente. ¿Cómo es posible mantener un país tan grande con tanta diversidad, unido, a lo largo de las edades, no por un año o dos o un siglo, sino por muchos siglos.? ¿Cómo es que la India sigue siendo un solo país.? La respuesta a la pregunta radica en el nombre mismo de este país, BHARATA. Bharata significa 'aquellos que se deleitan en el amor de Dios'. Porque, la base misma de esta cultura, este país, es la Divinidad, la Espiritualidad, la Devoción que es eterna, el Sanathana en su naturaleza, y, por lo tanto, el país que se sostiene sobre un fundamento tan eterno también permanece eterno. Por lo tanto, mientras que la gente se deleite en la gloria de Dios, mientras que tengan amor y devoción a Dios, este país vivirá.
Ya sea educado o sin educación, alfabetizado o analfabeto, todo indio cree en la existencia de Dios y transmite su gratitud a Dios. Puede ir a cualquier aldea, puede no encontrar un hospital o una escuela o instalación pública, pero definitivamente encontrará un templo de Dios en cada rincón y esquina de este país. Hemos visto, adorado, experimentado a Dios en la Chara y Achara (moviéndose y sin movimiento). Los indios han adorado a Dios en la forma y en el aspecto sin forma, desde tiempos inmemoriales sin ninguna distinción. Han reconocido la divinidad en lo que es vivo y lo que no es vivo. Es esta cultura la que ha proclamado al mundo entero, que solo hay un Dios que se ha convertido en muchos, 'Ekoham Bahusyam'. Es esta cultura la que ha enseñado a todo el mundo, 'Ekam Sat Vipra Bahudha Vadanti', solo hay Una verdad que los eruditos llaman por diferentes nombres. Desde el momento en que nace un niño hasta los momentos finales, cada ocasión y oportunidad se celebra recordando a Dios.
Pero, por desgracia, los tiempos están cambiando. En nombre de la educación, la ciencia y el desarrollo modernizados; las personas se olvidan de Dios y persiguen ilusiones en el mundo. Se dice: "Brahma Satyam Jagan Mithya Jivo Brahmaiva Na Parah". Solo Dios es Verdadero El mundo es una ilusión Y cada ser es divino.
Olvidando esta gran verdad, las personas persiguen placeres ilusorios, y, al hacerlo, se rebajan a sí mismos de ser Bharateeyas. Si continúa esta tendencia en la educación y en todas las demás actividades, ¡ llegará el día en que la base misma de la India encuentre grietas! Tal sociedad desprovista de devoción a Dios será meramente animalista o incluso peor, demoníaca. A fin de asegurar que ese día, no suceda al destino de este país, que ha estado allí de pie con su gloria de Dios, tales instituciones educativas que imparten 'Apara Vidya' (Conocimiento material) junto con 'Para Vidya' (Conocimiento espiritual) para las mentes jóvenes, es la necesidad del momento. Este es el esfuerzo, el empeño, la búsqueda de todas nuestras instituciones, por infundir fe y devoción a Dios en los corazones jóvenes de los estudiantes, además de impartir todo el tipo de conocimiento necesario para la existencia.

Having been born in a land, as sacred, as holy, as grand as Bharat; one must develop a sense of pride being a citizen of such a glorious ancient country. What is not in Bharat, in this country of India is not there anywhere in the world. Whether you look at it from the geographical point of view, or culture or from the diversity of religions, all of it that is available in the world is also there in India. This is the land that has withstood all kinds of attacks, disturbances by those who sought its wealth, prosperity and yet survived, unlike other cultures.
Even with 125 Crores people distributed across several states following different languages, eating different foods, wearing different kinds of clothes, all the major religions are followed in harmony in our country, by our people. How is it possible to keep such a large country with so much of diversity, united over ages, not for a year or two or a century, but for centuries together? How is it that India still stands as one country? The answer to the question lies in the very name of this country, BHARATA. Bharata means 'Those who revel in the love of God'. Because, the very basis of this culture, this country is Divinity, Spirituality, Devotion which is eternal, Sanathana in its nature and therefore the country that stands on such a foundation which is eternal also remains eternal. Therefore, till people revel in the glory of God, till they have love and devotion to God, this country will live.
Whether educated or uneducated, literate or illiterate, every Indian believes in the existence of God and conveys his or her gratitude to God. You may go to any village, you may not find a hospital or a school or public facility, but you will definitely find a temple of God, in every nook and corner of this country. We have seen, worshiped, experienced God in the Chara and Achara (moving and that which does not move). Indians have worshiped God in the form and the formless aspect since time immemorial without any distinction. They have recognized the divinity in that which is live and that which is not live. It is this culture which has proclaimed to the whole world that there is only one God who has become many, 'Ekoham Bahusyam'. It is this culture that has taught the whole of the world, 'Ekam Sat Vipra Bahudha Vadanti', there is only One truth which scholars call it by different names. From the moment a child is born to the final moments, every single occasion and opportunity is celebrated by remembering God.
But alas, times are changing. In the name of modernised education, science and development; people are forgetting God and chasing illusions in the world. It is said, "Brahma Satyam Jagan Mithya Jivo Brahmaiva Na Parah". Only God is True. The World is an Illusion. And every being is Divine Himself. Forgetting this great truth, people are chasing illusory pleasures and thereby demeaning themselves of being Bharateeyas. If this trend in education and all other pursuits continue, the day won't be far when India's very foundation will find cracks! Such a society bereft of devotion to God will merely be animalistic or even worse demonic. In order to ensure such a day does not befall the fate of this country which has been there standing tall with its glory of God, such educational institutions which impart 'Apara Vidya' (Material Knowledge) along with 'Para Vidya' (Spiritual Knowledge) to the young minds is the need of the hour. This is the effort, endevour, the pursuit of all our institutions to instill faith and devotion for God in the young hearts of the students apart from imparting all the kinds of knowledge necessary for ones existence.

Y esto es lo que dijo Swami:
Pregunta: Cuando tratamos de ser buenos, nos enfrentamos a muchos obstáculos. ¿Cómo podemos hacer frente a eso?
Swami: Cuando intentas ser bueno, te enfrentas a obstáculos? (Risas) Eres un ama de casa; en casa, limpias tu casa. Si no limpias tu ático durante mucho tiempo, ¿qué pasaría? Se acumularía mucho polvo allí. Habría hormigas y otros insectos porque nunca has estado allí y nunca has limpiado el ático. Ahora, si fueras a la habitación y comenzases a limpiar, ¿qué pasaría? Todo el polvo se levantaría y entraría en tu boca y tus ojos y sufrirías, pero, si dejas de limpiar, la habitación nunca se limpiará sola. Permanecerá sucia y se ensuciará cada día mas. Entonces, cuando tratas de ser bueno, lo que intentas hacer es eliminar lo que no es bueno.
La casa ya estaba allí, el piso ya estaba allí, el techo ya estaba allí; no estás construyendo la casa. ¿Qué estás haciendo realmente? Está eliminando y descartando todo lo que se supone que no debe estar en la habitación. Entonces, descubres el bien que ya tienes; verdad, bondad y belleza, esa es tu naturaleza básica. Sin embargo, para comprender eso, debes quitar las capas de polvo y óxido que están sobre ellos y no te permiten mantenerlo como debería.
Cuando vayas, con determinación, a limpiar la habitación, tu mente, de toda la basura, reaccionará; arrojará polvo a tu cara. Tienes que enfrentarlo y, aún así, persistir en su limpieza. ¿Qué puedes hacer? Puedes ponerte una máscara o atar un trapo alrededor de tu cara. ¿Cuál es la tela? La tela es devoción. Úsala para limpiar todo. Una vez que esté limpio, puedes ir y vivir allí. Todo lo que no era previamente útil se vuelve útil. Todas tus facultades divinas cobrarán vida. Tu concentración se magnificará, tu poder y energía divina comenzará a manifestarse a través de todos los poros bloqueados de tu existencia. Limpia todo y deja que lo Divino se manifieste en ti en su completa pureza. Una pantalla de cristal que cubre una lámpara reúne hollín negro y oculta la lámpara brillante en su interior. Si la limpias con agua y jabón y un paño, el vidrio brillará nuevamente y la luz se verá claramente.
Necesitas hacer el esfuerzo. Te enfrentarás a la resistencia; la mente no quiere renunciar a sus viejos hábitos; no quiere renunciar a sus viejos instintos; no quiere renunciar a sus viejas ideas. Si le pides que los elimine, luchará. ¿Qué deberías hacer? 'Sigue al Maestro; enfrentar al diablo; lucha hasta el final; terminar el juego '. Tienes que persistir y ganar. Si no te enfrentas a ningún obstáculo y no sale polvo, o eres demasiado pura o no estás limpiando correctamente, especialmente esta última (risas).

When you try to be good, what you are trying to do is to remove that which is not good.

In an interview to the global translators of Uvacha team on 24 November 2016; one of the translators seeks guidance on dealing with obstacles while on the path of self-transformation.
And here is what Swami said:
Question: When we try to become good, we face many obstacles. How do we deal with that?
Swami: When you are trying to become good, you are facing obstacles? (Laughter) You are a housewife; at home, you clean your house. If you did not clean your attic for a long time, what would happen? A lot of dust would accumulate there. There would be ants and other insects because you have never been there and never cleaned the attic. Now, if you were to go into the room and start cleaning, what would happen? All the dust would rise and go into your mouth and your eyes and you would suffer – but, if you give up on cleaning, the room will never get cleaned. It will remain dirty and get dirtier by the day. So, when you try to be good, what you are trying to do is to remove that which is not good.
The house was already there, the floor was already there, the roof was already there; you are not building the house. What are you actually doing? You are removing and discarding everything which is not supposed to be in the room. Then, you discover the good which you already have; truth, goodness and beauty – that is your basic nature. However, to understand that, you have to remove the layers of dust and rust, which are lying on it and not allowing you to keep it the way it should be.
When you go, with determination, to clean up the room – your mind – of all the rubbish, it will react; it will throw dust into your face. You have to face it and, then, still persist in cleaning it. What can you do? You can put on a mask or tie a cloth around your face. What is the cloth? The cloth is devotion. Use that to clean up the whole thing. Once it is clean, you can go and live there. All that which was not previously useful becomes useful. All your divine faculties will come alive. Your concentration will magnify, your divine power and energy will start manifesting through all the blocked pores of your existence. Clean up everything and let the Divine manifest in you in its complete purity. A glass shade that covers a lamp gathers black soot and hides the shining lamp within. If you clean it with soap and water and a cloth, the glass will shine again and the light will then be seen clearly.
You need to put in the effort. You will face resistance; the mind does not want to give up its old habits; it does not want to give up its old instincts; it does not want to give up its old ideas. If you ask it to remove them, it will fight. What should you do? ‘Follow the Master; face the devil; fight to the end; finish the game’. You have to persist and win. If you are not facing any obstacle and there is no dust rising, either you are too pure, or you are not cleaning properly, mostly the latter (laughter).
