Los elementos de la puja para la "Upanayam" fue organizado por los organizadores y no había necesidad de traer incluso ni una lámpara. El excelente trabajo en equipo demostrado por las Organizaciones Sri Sathya Sai, Karnataka, que fueron los instrumentos elegidos para este prestigioso programa, hicieron todo lo posible para poner cada pequeña cosa minúscula en su lugar, para el buen funcionamiento del programa. Era abrumador ver a decenas de mujeres y hombres jóvenes voluntarios, guiar durante todo el programa, a los participantes en sus respectivos asientos , a través de toda la puja. En una grabación de audio la voz de Swami cantando el mantra Gayatri se podía escuchar, a los Vatus se les dio el desa mantropa y el cordón sagrado fue puesto en los chicos por los ancianos ..
Suntuoso almuerzo fue servido también para todos los miles reunidos, en la cantina del sur de la India, que fue la guinda del pastel . Como siempre es auspicioso y una señal divina, que llueva después de cada ceremonia sagrada, nuestro amado Señor, envió Sus abundantes bendiciones en forma de lluvia en los días sucesivos que hicieron a cada uno de nosotros, los miembros de Sri Sathya Sai Organización, Karnataka, muy dichosos.
Puttaparthi, es un lugar donde todos los devotos de Bhagavan quieren que esas ocasiones importantes de la vida, ocurran en la Morada Divina. El hermoso trabajo en equipo llevado a cabo por la Sathya Sai Organización de Karnataka, debe ser un punto de referencia para todos los estados de la India, a seguir como ejemplo. Hay rituales tan importantes como matrimonios / Ceremonias Upanayam, Akshara Abhyasam, etc., que pueden ser celebrados a gran escala en Puttaparthi y sería muy bueno si todos los estados de la India tiene previsto este tipo de programas en forma mensual por turnos. Esto haría muy feliz a los devotos, como está sucediendo en Puttaparthi y también ayudaría a los pobres que no pueden pagar esos rituales sagrados para hacerlos en sus casas. Puttaparthi ha estado muy, muy ocupado durante los últimos dos días, gracias a los dos programas hermosos, de el miércoles y el jueves, Kalasabhishekam Sahasra y Upanayam (ceremonia sagrada), respectivamente.
Este probablemente fue el programa más hermoso que ocurrió desde el Mahasamadhi de Swami y también uno de los programas que tuvo el número máximo de participantes. La belleza de el programa consistió en una muy buena organización , todos los arreglos fueron hechos con sumo cuidado.

El "Sahasra kalasabhi shekam" un ritual de 1108 repeticiones y abluciones hechas con aguas tomadas de los ríos Sagrados de la India, comenzó a las 6 de la mañana con cantos vedicos el 26 de octubre de 2012. Un ídolo de Swami de 2 pies, (tenga en cuenta,que no es el ídolo propuesto para ser instalado por el sanctorium sanctum) fue colocado en el frente centro derecha del santa sanctorium en el Salon Sai Kulwanth. Después de que los sacerdotes hicieron las oraciones necesarias para infundir vida (pranaprathista) en el ídolo de Bhagavan, a los devotos que participaron en este programa excepcional, se les permitió acercarse a la estatua y ofrecer un Kalasa (vasija, un envase pequeño) vertiendo agua sagrada sobre las padukas bendecidos por Swami.
Mientras los cantos védicos continuaban, los devotos completaron el ritual con mucha devoción y disciplina poniendo así fin al programa justo después de las 11.
Upanayam (ceremonia del cordón sagrado) fue programada para el día siguiente (jueves 27 de septiembre) para todos los chicos jóvenes 600, junto con sus padres / familiares, que se reunieron en el Salón Sai Kulwanth, por la tarde. Ranganathan, Director del Instituto de Estudios RV sánscrito, dio una hermosa charla sobre la importancia del Gayatri, Omkar y el significado interno del Upanayam según lo dicho por Swami.

En la mañana del 27 de septiembre, se hicieron los arreglos necesarios para la ceremonia de la misa Upanayam en la tarde . Los paritipantes en el Salón Sai Kulwanth fueron marcados con números colocando improvisadamente con pegatina en los Vatu y miembros de la familia. Sin conmoción o confusión los Vatus con los miembros de su familia fueron invitados a sentarse en sus respectivos asientos, que fue realmente fantástico. No hubo fila de estudiantes vips , lo cual ahorro espacio. ¿No se sabe cómo?, pero hubo un determinado sistema de distribución de los asientos al azar, que no tenían nada que ver con la fecha de la solicitud o en qué departamento del ashram trabajo su familiar. A partir de este programa, es de esperar que las preferencias VIPs desaparezcan pronto en Parthi, lo que haría las cosas mucho mejor, especialmente para este tipo de programas en el que cada uno han de ser tratados de la misma forma.
La Misa Upanayam , que no tiene costo ninguno, tuvo una gran respuesta desde el momento en que se anunció y se hicieron muchas peticiones para extender la fecha límite de presentación que fueron aceptadas.

Puttaparthi has been very very busy for the past two days, thanks to the two beautiful programmes on Wednesday and Thursday, Sahasra Kalasabhishekam and mass Upanayanam (sacred ceremony) respectively.
This probably was the most beautiful programme that happened ever Since Swami's Mahasamadhi and also one of the programmes which had maximum number of participants. The beauty in the programme was that it was very well organised, all arrangements made with utmost care. The "Sahasra kalasabhi shekam" a ritual with waters taken from 1108 rivers across India started at 6 am with veda chants on October 26th, 2012. A 2 feet idol of Swami (please note, it is not the proposed idol that would be installed by the sanctum sanctorium) was placed in the middle right infront of sanctum sanctorium in Sai Kulwanth hall. After the priests did the necessary prayers for infusing life (pranaprathista) into the idol of Bhagawan, the devotees who participated in this rare programme were allowed to go near the statue and offer one kalasa ( a small container) on the padukas blessed by Swami.
As vedic chants continued, the devotees completed the ritual with utmost devotion and discipline thus ending the programme just after 11am.
As Mass Upanayanam (sacred thread ceremony) was scheduled the next day (Thursday 27 September) all the 600plus young boys along with their parents/family members were assembled in Sai Kulwanth Hall in the afternoon. To create an awareness about the significance of Upanayanam, Sri.S. Ranganathan, Director RV Institute of Sanskrit Studies, gave a beautiful talk about the importance of Gayatri, Omkar and inner significance of
Upanayanam as told by Swami.
In the evening, after darshan at 7:30pm, all the family members and the boys (Vatus) enrolled for the Upanayanam were made to assemble in Sai Kulwanth hall and after briefing the programme details, the "Angavastra" (the traditional dress to be worn for Upanayanam) was distributed freely to the "Vatus".
In the morning of September 27th, necessary arrangements were made overnight for the Mass Upanayanam ceremony. The whole of Sai Kulwanth Hall was marked with various numbers and makeshift sticker partitions for the Vatu and family members. With no commotion or confusion the Vatus along with their family members were made to sit in their respective seats which was really fantastic. Sparing few VVIPS, there was no staff line or students' line. Not sure how, but there was a definite system of random seating arrangements which had nothing to do with the date of application or which department of the ashram one worked for. Starting from this programme, hopefully, VIP preferences will vanish soon in Parthi which would make things much better especially for such programmes where every one are to be treated the same.
The Mass Upanayanam programme, which had no fee collection what so ever, at any stage, had a huge response the moment it was announced and many requests were made to extend the last date for submission which was accepted. Even though this "Sacred thread Ceremony" was confined to the upper caste in the ancient India, after Swami's arrival, it removed all the barriers of caste system. Today's ceremony had so many boys from all corners of the world and quite a few students of Swami's institution also enrolled for this unique programme which was happening after quite a long gap. It is the DIVINE PULL that brought every one here at the Divine Abode.
The thought of having this sacred ceremony done at the Sanctum Sanctorium is enough of motivation for any boy. Same was the case with 12 year old Rahul Patel, from Johannesburg, South Africa, who later turned out to be the only representative from the whole of African Continent, who flew alone to India with Swami as His guardian to have the UPANAYANAM done in Puttaparthi. "Thanks to the co-operation of the organisers especially brother Kallesh and Brother Sudeep, every thing was perfect" said an ecstatic Rahul for whom Puttaparthi is verily his home and rightly said though.
The puja items for the "Upanayanam" was arranged by the organisers and there was no need to bring even a lamp. The excellent teamwork shown by the Sri Sathya Sai Organisations, Karnataka, who were the chosen instruments for this prestigious programme made every tiny effort to put every tiny thing in place for the smooth functioning of the programme. It was over whelming to see scores of young women and men volunteering the whole programme guiding the participants to their respective seats and also guiding them through the puja. As a audio recording of Swami's voice singing the Gayatri mantra was playing, the Vatus were given the mantropa desa and the sacred thread was put on the boys by the elders..
Sumptuous lunch was also served to all the thousands assembled, in South Indian Canteen which was icing on the cake indeed. As it is always auspicious and a DIVINE SIGN for it to rain after every sacred ceremony, our beloved Lord, showered His bountiful blessings in the form of rain on both the days in succession which made every one of us blissful and more so for the members of Sri Sathya Sai Organisation, Karnataka.
Puttaparthi, is a place where every devotee of Bhagawan wants such important occasions of life to happen at the Divine Abode. The beautiful team work put up by Sathya Sai Organisation, Karnataka should be a benchmark for all the states of India to follow the suit. There are so many important rituals/happenings like mass marriages, Upanayanam, Akshara Abhyasam etc which can be celebrated on a large scale in Puttaparthi and it would be very nice if every state of India plans such programmes on a monthly basis by taking turns. This would make a devotee happy as it is happening in Puttaparthi and it will also help the poor who cannot afford such sacred rituals to be done at home. Instead of merely confining to Parthi Yatras, dramas and dances, it is high time for all the Center heads to re-think their strategies which would have mass benefit to the society and also keeping in view of the sentiments attached to Puttaparthi..
