La palabra 'Kodaikanal' inmediatamente evoca un refugio fresco de verano en el regazo de la Madre Naturaleza. Pero para los devotos de Bhagavan Sri Sathya Sai Baba, connota el campo de juegos Divino, una especie de peregrinación anual, una tradición que comenzó hace muchas décadas.
Kodaikanal es el lugar donde cada estudiante, personal y devoto siempre han querido acompañar a su Maestro, estar con Él y participar de perlitas de lecciones espirituales, ya que están bajo su influencia transformadora.
En la mañana del 10 de mayo, devotos de todo el mundo, alumnas y personal se dirigieron al aeropuerto de Bangalore para unirse al Señor en un avión fletado a Madurai. Los muchachos ya habían viajado el día anterior con sus maestros en autobús, y estaban esperando ansiosamente a que Bhagavan los recibiera en Madurai.
En la noche del 8 de mayo, el Señor llamó a todos los invitados, estudiantes y personal que lo acompañarían a Kodaikanal. Les dijo a todos que los diez días seguramente no seran días festivos, sino "días santos", ya que será un tiempo dedicado a la contemplación de Dios. Swami luego entregó amorosamente maletas llenas de golosinas, desde ropa hasta probablemente todos los elementos esenciales que se requerirían en el viaje a sus alumnos, personal y también a algunos de los invitados. Como siempre se dice, para un estudiante de Sai, ¡todo es provisto por el Padre Divino, desde un pin al viaje en avion!
Después de un breve retraso debido a un inconveniente técnico, el avión despegó a Madurai. El inconveniente técnico en realidad resultó ser una bendición, ya que Swami caminó por el pasillo y distribuyó chocolates a todas y cada una de las personas. El aire se llenó con 'Jaikars' cuando el avión despegó con un emocionado grupo de peregrinos con su amado Bhagawan a Madurai.
Una gran cantidad de devotos de Tamil Nadu dirigidos por el hermano Gowrishankar y su devota esposa Smt Priya recibieron a Bhagavan y su avión lleno de invitados con mucho amor.
Después del almuerzo, el Señor se dirigió a Kodaikanal, y llegó al Bungalow en la cima de la colina, hermosamente bautizado por Él el año pasado como 'Sri Sathya Sai Anand Ashram', encaramado magníficamente en el punto más alto de Kodaikanal, un poco antes de las 8 p.m.
Sevadals y algunos otros que habían llegado unos días antes para hacer arreglos, dieron la bienvenida a su Señor con mucha alegría y adoración. Algunos de los invitados llegaron en breve, y Swami habló brevemente con todos, antes de caminar hacia la nueva cocina que estaba esperando ser inaugurada por las manos divinas. Inspeccionó el comedor, las tiendas e incluso el área del baño para asegurarse de que todos los arreglos estuvieran bien. Estudiantes emocionados llegaron, ya que Kodaikanal es una gran oportunidad para que se queden en el Bungalow de Swami. Mayo 11-Mañana.
Una hermosa, brillante y soleada mañana, y por supuesto una maravillosa variedad en el delicioso desayuno, dio la bienvenida a todos. Con Swami, siempre hay comida y más comida. Todos los devotos se reunieron en el Salo de Bhajans, que fue inaugurado por Swami el año pasado en mayo.
Swami entró en medio de los Bhajans, y la primera oradora de la mañana fue una estudiante de décimo Grado, Yuva Supreet Reddy. Recordó su viaje con Swami y se ofreció emocionalmente a los Pies de Loto de su Señor como su instrumento, lista para hacer lo que Èl quisiera que hiciera o fuese.
Sri B N Narasimha Murthy se dirigió a los reunidos y dijo que cualquier cosa que hiciera Swami, o lo que haga en cualquier momento, siempre está motivado por el amor y la compasión. Recordó la última visita de Swami a Muddenahalli en cuerpo físico, y habló sobre el vínculo de amor único de Swami, que nunca se puede romper.
"Tenemos que contar nuestras bendiciones. Todos nosotros sentimos la alegría espiritual y experimentamos la dicha emancipadora que puede liberarnos de los grilletes y ayudarnos a volar a los cielos espirituales. Ya sea que estemos en el nivel del cuerpo, la mente o la psique, debemos elevarnos hasta el último nivel. Así como nos hemos elevado físicamente a la proximidad de la cima de esta colina, ¡también debemos elevarnos en nuestras mentes y espíritus espiritualmente durante este viaje! "
Swami en su discurso divino dijo que para una madre y un padre, un niño es su propia vida. "Cuando lo analizamos, madre y padre pueden estar con nosotros solo por un lapso de tiempo limitado y pueden hacer cosas solo de manera limitada. Pero solo Dios puede estar con nosotros todo el tiempo, y hacer todo sin límites. Cuando dirigimos este amor hacia Dios, es devoción. El amor se manifiesta de muchas formas, pero el amor entre Dios y el devoto es más sagrado e intenso. Mucha gente sigue diciendo "te amo". Es verdad. Pero eso no es lo suficientemente bueno, en su lugar deberíamos decir 'TE AMO SOLAMENTE A TI'.
Puedes preguntar, '¿Significa que no debemos amar a los demás?' En absoluto. Dios también existe en ellos, y debemos amarlos desinteresadamente de una manera divina después de reconocer la presencia de Dios en ellos.
Cuando las gotas de lluvia tocan el suelo, se contaminan. Pero esa agua purificada la usamos. El agua contaminada puede ser purificada y puede ser utilizada. En el corazón de todos existe el divino amor sagrado. Debido a los deseos mundanos, este amor está contaminado.
Tengan solo un deseo: "Quiero solo el amor puro, de una manera pura y desinteresada".
Este amor es el mayor tesoro de nuestras vidas ".
Después del Mangala Arati, Swami se dirigió al comedor para cenar con Sus invitados. Después de bendecir a todos con Prasadam, Swami descansó por la tarde.
Mayo 11-Noche.
Las noches en Kodaikanal son siempre íntimas. Una reunión acogedora e informal con Sus seres queridos. Cuando Swami entró al salón, Bhajans melodiosos estaban en progreso. Después de dar la vuelta y bendecir a todos los que estaban sentados, tanto dentro como fuera, Swami regresó al salón y se sentó. Él ordenó a los muchachos del grupo de música que comenzaran con dos alumnos de octavo grado, Pranav Sai y Abhay Sai, a representar el Rama Katha. Swami dijo, "Ramayana significa 'Rama - Ayana', que significa 'El camino de Rama'. El nombre de Rama es el más dulce, y nunca me aburro de escuchar las canciones de Rama. Cuando cantas el nombre de Rama que es muy hermoso y dichoso, te sumergirás en ese canto. Un nombre de Rama equivale a otros mil nombres. ¡Esa es la gloria del nombre de Rama!

The word ‘Kodaikanal’ immediately conjures a cool summer retreat in the lap of Mother Nature. But for devotees of Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai Baba, it connotes the Divine Playground, an annual pilgrimage of sorts, a tradition which commenced many decades ago. For Kodaikanal is the place where every student, staff and devotee have always wanted to accompany their Master, to be with Him and partake nuggets of spiritual lessons, as they come under His transformative influence.
On the morning of May 10, devotees from around the world, girl students and staff proceeded to the Bangalore Airport to join the Lord on a chartered plane to Madurai. Boys had already left the previous day with their teachers by bus, and were eagerly waiting for Bhagawan to welcome Him at Madurai. On the evening of May 8, the Lord called all the guests, students and staff who would accompany Him to Kodaikanal. He told everyone that the ten days for sure are not holidays, but ‘holy-days’, as it will be a time spent in the contemplation of God. Swami then lovingly handed over suitcases filled with goodies, from clothes to probably every single essential that would be required on the trip to His students, staff and also to some of the guests. Like it is always said, for a student of Sai, everything is taken care by the Divine Parent, from pin to plane!
After a brief delay due to a technical snag, the aircraft took off to Madurai. The technical snag actually turned out to be a blessing, as Swami walked down the aisle and distributed chocolates to each and every person. The air was filled with ‘Jaikars’ as the plane took off with an excited lot of pilgrims with their beloved Bhagawan to Madurai. A whole host of devotees from Tamil Nadu led by Brother Gowrishankar and his devout wife Smt Priya received Bhagawan and His plane full of guests with much love. After lunch, the Lord proceeded to Kodaikanal, and reached the Hill Top Bungalow, beautifully christened by Him last year as ‘Sri Sathya Sai Anand Ashram’, perched magnificently on the highest point in Kodaikanal, a little before 8 p.m.
Sevadals and a few others who had reached a few days early to make arrangements welcomed their Lord with much joy and adoration. Some of the guests reached shortly, and Swami spoke briefly to everyone, before walking towards the new kitchen which was waiting to be inaugurated by the Divine Hands. He inspected the dining hall, the stores, and even the bathroom area to ensure all arrangements were made well. Excited boys students arrived, as Kodaikanal is a great opportunity for them to stay in Swami’s Bungalow. A sumptuous dinner was served, and everyone proceeded to the respective hotels, which they would call home for the next ten days.
May 11 - Morning
A beautiful, bright and sunny morning, and of course a wonderful spread of delicious breakfast welcomed everyone. With Swami around, it’s always food, and more food! All the devotees were gathered in the Bhajan Hall, which was inaugurated by Swami last year in May. Swami entered amidst Bhajans, and the first speaker of the morning was a Grade 10 student, Yuva Supreet Reddy. He reminisced his journey with Swami, and emotionally offered himself at the Lotus Feet of His Lord as His instrument, ready to do whatever He wanted him to do or be.
Sri B N Narasimha Murthy addressed the gathering next, and said that whatever Swami did, or does at any point of time is always prompted by love and compassion. He reminisced Swami’s last visit to Muddenahalli in the physical, and spoke about Swami’s unique bond of love, which can never be broken. “We have to count our blessings. All of us feel the spiritual joy, and experience emancipating bliss which can release us from the shackles and help us fly in the spiritual skies. Whether we are at the level of the body, mind or psyche, we should rise up to the ultimate level. Just as we have risen physically to the proximity at the top of this hill, so should we rise in our minds and spirits spiritually during this trip!”
Swami in His divine discourse said for a mother and father, a child is their very life. “When we analyse it, mother and father can be with us only for a limited span of time and can do things only in a limited way. But God alone can be with us all the time, and do everything without limits. When we direct this love towards God, it is devotion. Love manifests itself in many forms, but the love between God and devotee is more sacred and intense. Lot of people keep saying ‘I love You’. It’s true. But that’s not good enough, instead we should say ‘I love You ONLY’. You may ask, ‘Does it mean we should not love others?’ Not at all. God exists in them as well, and we should love them selflessly in a divine way after recognising the presence of God in them. When raindrops touch the ground, they get polluted. But that water is purified and we use it. Polluted water can be purified and can be utilised. In everyone’s heart there is divine sacred love. Because of worldly desires, this love is polluted. Have only one desire - ‘I want only pure love, in a pure and selfless way’. This love is the greatest treasure in our lives.” After Mangala Arati, Swami proceeded to the dining hall to dine with His guests. After blessing everyone with Prasadam, Swami rested for the afternoon.
May 11 - Evening
Evenings in Kodaikanal are always intimate. A cozy and informal gathering with His near and dear ones. As Swami entered the hall, melodious Bhajans were in progress. After going round, and blessing everyone seated, both inside and outside, Swami came back to the hall and took His seat. He commanded the music group boys starting with two eighth graders, Pranav Sai and Abhay Sai to render the Rama Katha. Thereafter, few more boys also sang the same songs on Swami’s command; almost three generations of Rama Katha singers, with the finale song, where all of them joined together. The 45 minutes or so was filled with divine bliss, with Swami explaining many beautiful instances from the Ramayana. From the story of Vali and Sugriva, to the story of Surpanaka and Ravana, the evening was filled with the narration of these episodes, laden with deep inner meaning. Swami said, “Ramayana means ‘Rama - Ayana’, which means ‘The way of Rama’. Rama’s name is the sweetest, and I never get bored of listening to the songs of Rama. When you chant the name of Rama it is very beautiful and blissful, that you will get immersed in that chanting. One name of Rama is equivalent to thousand other names. That is the glory of Rama’s name!” Only Swami is capable of narrating these epics in a meaningful way, and sometimes he would even embellish them with humour, which would leave everyone in splits of laughter. He then beckoned Sri B N Narasimha Murthy to speak about this Rama Katha tradition, which had started way back when Swami was a little child. Swami’s grandfather, Sri Kondama Raju was an actor himself, and had regularly donned the role of Lakshmana. Sri Narasimha Murthy went on speak about how Ramayana is probably one epic which is known from the North to the South of India.
Mangala Arati was offered to Bhagawan, and He proceeded to the dining hall yet again to partake His dinner with all the guests, before retiring for the night.

"Si quieres conocerme, conviértete en Mí. Si te vuelves puro y desinteresado, te conviertes en Mí".
He compartido esto antes, pero a costa de la repetición si le hace bien a alguien, lo estoy compartiendo una vez más.
Un día estaba leyendo un libro y Swami me preguntó: "¿Qué estás leyendo?", Le dije: "Estoy leyendo el Bhagavatam". Swami explicó qué es Bha, qué es Ga, Va y Mu en el Bhagavatam, pero de alguna manera, ¡se saltó su memoria!
Esos días, tenía mucho tiempo para mí mismo. Siempre lo llamo el "Período de luna de miel" con Swami en lo sutil porque no teníamos trabajo para hacer en absoluto. Nunca me dijo que construirìamos hospitales y que buscaría tierras o daría charlas o conocería a devotos, viajando al extranjero y cosas por el estilo con tanta intensidad como lo es hoy.
Por lo tanto, estábamos en su mayoría en nuestro pequeño apartamento acogedor. La habitación de Swami estaba allí y él se sentaba en un bonito sillón reclinable mientras yo me sentaba en la alfombra y luego hablamos uno a uno, a veces una hora, dos horas, y a veces, tres horas. Estábamos discutiendo cosas como dos personas enamoradas, que no saben lo que sucede pero siguen conversando durante tres o cuatro horas y no se dan cuenta de cuánto tiempo ha pasado.
Así, hubo una especie de romance. Al final no nos dábamos cuenta de lo que realmente hablamos durante todo este tiempo. Pero así de maravillosos eran esos tiempos.
Volviendo a lo que quería compartir. Swami explicó, Bha, Él dijo significa 'Bhakti'. Ga, Él dijo significa 'Gnana'. Va, Él dijo 'Vairagya'. Y en Tha, Él se quedó atascado.
Siguió diciendo Tha (significa) y me preguntaba si no sabía lo que es 'Tha', después de dar tantos discursos. Él dijo, déjalo y luego dijo que Mu es 'Mukti'.
La curiosidad se apoderó de mí cuando le pregunté: "¡Espera, espera! ¿Cómo puedes olvidar lo que es Tha? Se supone que eres divino; Tu sabes todo, sobre todos. ¿Por qué no puedes decirme? Quiero saber".
En la forma física, si Swami olvidaba los nombres. Él nos recordaba por los apodos, pero aparentemente era muy difícil para Èl recordarnos por nuestros nombres reales de alguna manera. Él era así. ¡Ese era de nuevo un atributo que Él había tomado sobre Sí mismo, ese camino lúdico de Swami.!
Entonces, le dije: "Se que eres divino y lo sabes todo. Dime por qué estás haciendo esto?
"Luego dijo:" Incluso si te explico, no lo entenderás ".
Entonces le pedí que al menos me lo explicara para que yo intentara entender. Él dijo: "Mira, cuando decidí tomar sobre mí la forma de Sathya Sai Baba, decidí comportarme de cierta manera. Desde entonces, sigo viniendo a ti como Sathya Sai Baba, me estoy comportando como Èl (como olvidar nombres, cosas y discursos) ".
Entonces dije, estás diciendo, 'Tú viniste como Sathya Sai Baba, entonces te estás comportando de cierta manera'. Entonces, ¿quién eres entonces? Si viniste como Sathya Sai Baba, entonces obviamente eres diferente de Sathya Sai Baba.
Él estaba sentado en el sillón, yo estaba sentado en el suelo; Él se inclinó hacia mi cara, sus ojos fijos en mis ojos y dijo, " si quieres conocer a Mí, DEBES SER YO."
Soy Sathya Sai Baba, pero eso no es todo de Mí. Hay algo más para Mí. Si realmente quieres saber quién soy, debes ser quien soy. Entonces le pregunté: " Cómo puedo convertirme en Ti.
Dijo muy dulcemente: " Qué soy Yo? Soy puro Amor! Soy amor desinteresado! Si te vuelves puro y desinteresado, te vuelves Yo. '
Esa fue la lección que aprendí en esa pequeña charla privada con Èl, donde estaba bromeando, al empezar un tema, olvidando las cosas, y haciéndome preguntas, para luego contestarlas tan bellamente, finalmente me enseñó una lección;
' Si realmente realmente quieres conocerme, se como Yo. " convertirse es muy simple, dijo. Vuélvete puro y desinteresado. Eso es todo lo que Soy.

"If you want to know Me, become Me. If you become Pure and Selfless, you become Me."
I have shared this before but at the cost of repetition if it does good to anyone, I am sharing it once again.
One day I was reading a book and Swami asked, ‘What are you reading?’ I said, I am reading Bhagavatam. Swami explained what is Bha, what is Ga, Va, and Mu in Bhagavatam but somehow Tha skipped His memory!
Those days, I had plenty of time to myself. I always call it the ‘Honeymoon Period’ with Swami in the subtle because we had no work to do whatsoever. He never told me to build hospitals and run around looking for lands or give talks or meet devotees, travel abroad and things like that at such intensity as it is today. So, we were mostly to ourselves in our cozy little apartment. Swami’s room was there and He would sit in a nice recliner while I would sit down on the carpet and then we will have a chat one to one, sometimes an hour, two hours, and sometimes three hours. We were discussing things like two people in love, who don’t know what’s going on but they keep chatting for three or four hours and don’t realise how much time has passed. Like that, there was a kind of romance. We won’t realize at the end what actually we spoke all this while. But that is how wonderful those times were.
Coming back to what I wanted to share. Swami explained Bha, He said ‘Bhakti’. Ga, He said ‘Gnana’. Va, He said ‘Vairagya’. Tha, He got stuck. He kept on saying Tha ante (means) and I was wondering if He didn’t know what ‘Tha’ is, after giving so many discourses. He said, let it be and then said Mu is ‘Mukti’. Curiosity got the better of me as I asked, “Wait wait! How can you forget what is Tha? You are supposed to be divine; you know everything, about everyone. Why are you not able to tell me? I want to know”.
In the physical form, Swami would forget names. He would remember us by the nicknames, but it was seemingly very difficult for Him to remember us by our real names somehow. He was like that. That was again an attribute that He had taken upon Himself, that playful way of Swami! So, I told Him, “I have realized you are divine and you know everything. Tell me why are you doing this?” Then He said, “Even if I explain, you will not understand.” So I asked Him to at least explain so that I would try to understand. He said, “See, when I decided to take upon myself the form of Sathya Sai Baba, I decided to behave in a certain way. Since, I still come to you as Sathya Sai Baba, I am behaving like him (like forgetting names, things and discourses)”. Then I said, you are saying, ‘You came as Sathya Sai Baba, so you are behaving in a certain way.’ So, who are you then? If you came as Sathya Sai Baba, then you are obviously different from Sathya Sai Baba.
He was sitting on the recliner, I was sitting on the floor; He bent low straight on my face, His eyes meeting my eyes and said, “If you want to know Me, become Me.”
I’m Sathya Sai Baba but that’s not all of Me. There is something more to Me. If you really want to know who I am, become who I am. Then I asked Him, ‘How do I become You?’ He very sweetly said, ‘What am I? I’m pure love! I’m selfless love! If you become Pure and Selfless, you become Me.’
That was the lesson I learnt in that little nice private chat with Him where He so playfully, by starting a topic, forgetting the things, making me question and then answering it so beautifully, finally taught me a lesson; ‘If you really really really want to know Me, become Me.’ Becoming is quite simple He said. Just become Pure and Selfless. That’s all I am.
