Y esto es lo que dijo Swami:
Pregunta: Trabajo con gente joven, enseñando habilidades de liderazgo y esta es mi pregunta, pero también su pregunta: como práctica diaria, vamos a trabajar, nos enseñaron a trabajar duro y estudiar mucho, y luego muchos de nosotros hacemos proyectos seva paralelamente. ¿Cómo combinamos esos dos en una vida, y cómo trabajamos duro en nuestras carreras sin perdernos en maya y recordando hacer seva todos los días, en cada momento de nuestras vidas?
Swami: Comprenda el objetivo final de su trabajo o seva. Lograr ese propósito debería ser tu objetivo: el propósito de todo el trabajo que haces, ya sea en el hogar como una esposa, en tu oficina como profesional, o en un centro donde llevas a cabo el seva, debe llevarte hacia Dios y hacerte una persona más pura. Si eso se está logrando de una manera u otra, entonces no importa qué dirección tomar. Debe considerar incluso su trabajo de oficina como seva. Recuerda por quién lo haces; que no lo está haciendo por tu propio bien, lo está haciendo por el amor de Dios, para que, cuando se lo ofrezca a Dios, Dios le otorgue un "salario".
Con ese salario, puedes cuidar de ti mismo, que, en sí mismo, también es un regalo de Dios, y usar tu cuerpo y tu mente para ayudar a otros diez. Solo cuando estés seguro, feliz y saludable, puede ayudar a otros diez. Por lo tanto, considerar el trabajo de oficina también como seva es muy importante. Hacer distinciones entre "el trabajo de Dios" y "mi trabajo" y entre "mundano" y "espiritual" causa toda la confusión. Todo lo que haces, primero ofrécelo a Dios diciendo: "Este es el trabajo de Swami. A través de esto, puedo cuidar de mí mismo y de mi familia y, debido a esto, puedo poner mi energía, inteligencia y todas mis habilidades para ayudar a otras diez personas ".
Esta comprensión debe ser lo primero. Entonces, no encontrarás ningún tipo de conflicto o confusión. Harás lo mejor que puedas, lo que necesites hacer en la oficina, cuando estés allí; harás tu mejor esfuerzo en casa; Harás lo mejor que puedas cuando te encuentres en un centro, en un grupo o en una congregación, lo que sea necesario hacer, porque todo lo que estás haciendo es una ofrenda a Dios. Sin duda querrás ofrecer lo mejor a Dios, nada menos. Con ese pensamiento constantemente en mente, hacer todo por Dios se convierte en una forma de vida constante y no experimentarás ningún conflicto en absoluto.

And here is what Swami said:
Question: I work with young people, teaching leadership skills and this is my question – but also their question: As a daily practice, we go to work, we were taught to work hard and study hard and achieve and then a lot of us do seva projects on the side. How do we combine those two into one life and how do we work hard in our careers without getting lost in maya and remembering seva every day, in every part of our lives?
Swami: Understand the ultimate purpose of either your work or seva. Achieving that purpose should be your goal: the purpose of all the work that you do, whether in the home as a wife, in your office as a professional, or in a center where you perform seva, should take you towards God and make you a purer person. If that is being achieved in some way or another, then it doesn’t matter which direction you take. You must consider even your office work as seva. Remember for whose sake you are doing it; that you are not doing it for your own sake, you are doing it for God’s sake so that, when you offer it to God, God will give you a ‘salary’.
With that salary, you can look after yourself – which, in itself, is also a gift from God – and use your body and your mind to help ten others. Only when you are safe, happy and healthy, can you help ten others. Therefore, considering office work also as seva is very important. Making distinctions between ‘God’s work’ and ‘my work’ and between ‘worldly’ and ‘spiritual’ causes all the confusion. With everything that you do, first offer it to God saying, “This is Swami’s work. Through this, I am able to look after myself and my family and, because of this, I am able to put my energy, intelligence and all my skills into helping ten others.” This understanding should come first. Then, you will not find any kind of conflict or confusion. You will do your best, whatever you need to do in the office, when you are there; you will do your best at home; you will do your best when you are in a center, or in a group or a congregation, whatever needs to be done – because everything you are doing is an offering to God. You would certainly want to offer your best to God, nothing less. With that thought constantly in mind, doing everything for God becomes a constant way of life and you will not experience conflict at all.
