"Hay nueve planetas Grahas" (según la astrología). El cuerpo humano tiene nueve aperturas. Si una investigación profunda se hace, se encontrará que la humanidad depende de los planetas (Grahas). Aunque los astrólogos hablan de nueve, en realidad, sólo hay dos planetas que importan. Son "Raga '(apego) y Dwesha (odio)

Swami habló maravillosamente, al final de un Discurso Divino de Navarathri durante Dasara 1999.
"El propósito de la celebración de Navaratri es permitir al hombre deshacerse de los nueve tipos de oscuridad, que se han apoderado de él. El festival Navaratri consiste en la contemplación de Dios durante diez días, limpiando en uno, todas las impurezas, para experimentar la Divinidad interna. Este festival tiene la intención de hacer que el hombre se de cuenta de su verdadero valor, como el objeto más preciado en la creación.
Todas las cosas en el mundo derivan su valor, de la mano de obra y la habilidad del hombre. Es una fiesta de acción de gracias. La gratitud es Divina. La ingratitud es demoníaca. Pero al tiempo que ofrece el homenaje de gratitud, también debe tratar de descubrir quién es destruido, que es salvado, y por qué.
La celebración de Navaratri es una ocasión para reverenciar a la naturaleza (Prakriti), teniendo en cuenta la cantidad de recursos naturales que pueden ser utilizados correctamente en beneficio de la humanidad. Los recursos como el agua, el aire, la energía y los minerales, que sean utilizados adecuadamente y no se apliquen indebidamente o se desperdicien. La economía en el uso de todos los recursos naturales es vital. La contaminación del aire tiene muchas consecuencias malas. El significado interno de las observancias como Nagar Sankirtan y Bhajans es llenar el ambiente con vibraciones sagradas y pensamientos sagrados.
La inauguración de las celebraciones de Navaratri significa que usted debe aprovechar esta ocasión para ofrecer adoración a la naturaleza y tomar la resolución de hacer un uso sagrado de todos los recursos naturales. El Navaratri se dedica para propiciar el exterior, así como la divinidad interior, de modo que el mundo exterior y el mundo interior puedan tener paz y alegría. Por medio de la práctica espiritual sistemática, es posible aprovechar los recursos internos de que Dios ha dotado al hombre, y elevarse al reino más puro y más feliz de la Realidad. Ese es el mensaje de Navaratri, Festival de Nueve Días celebrando la victoria de la Energía Primordial. Esa energía, cuando se manifiesta en su aspecto tranquilo (sátvica), se delinea como el Gran Maestro e inspirador, Maha-Saraswati; cuando es activo y potente (rajásicos), el gran proveedor y sustentador, Maha-Lakshmi,; cuando es aburrido e inactivo, pero latente y aparentemente tranquila (tamásica), como el Gran Destructor Oscuro y engañador, Mahakali.
Shakti ( poder) es omnipresente, omni-potente, infinitesimal, así como que lo abarca todo, puede ser contactado por todas partes, en la naturaleza exterior o conciencia interna.
Prahlada le dijo a su padre incrédulo: "¿Por qué dudar, discutir ? Búscalo en cualquier lugar, usted podra verlo ". Está cerca y lejos, delante, detrás, al lado y en el interior, todo en el conocido y el mundo desconocido. Las personas se atreven a describir a él o ella, como así y así, revelando sólo su facultad de adivinar. La puede describirse en su totalidad ".

" Navaratri means nine nights. Darkness is associated with night. What is this darkness? It is the darkness of ignorance.Navaratri means 'nine nights'. What does the nine signify? There are nine 'Grahas' (planets according to astrology). The human body has nine openings. If a deep inquiry is made, it will be found that mankind is dependent on the planets (Grahas). Although astrologers speak about nine, in reality, there are only two planets that matter. They are 'Raga' (attachment) and Dwesha (hatred)

Swami spoke wonderfully on the Purpose of Navarathri in a Divine Discourse during Dasara 1999.
" The purpose of the Navaratri celebration is to enable man to get rid of nine types of darkness, which have taken hold of him. The Navaratri festival is observed by contemplating on God for ten days, cleansing one's self of all the impurities to experience the Divinity within. This festival is intended to make man realise his true worth as the most precious object in creation.
All things in the world derive their value from the labour and skill of man. It is a festival of thanksgiving. Gratitude is Divine. Ingratitude is demonic. But while offering the homage of gratitude, you must also try to discover who was killed, who was saved, and why.
The Navaratri celebration is an occasion for revering nature (Prakriti) and considering how natural resources can be used properly in the best interest of mankind. Resources like water, air, power and minerals should be used properly and not misused or wasted. Economy in the use of every natural resource is vital. Pollution of the air has many evil consequences. The inner significance of observances like Nagar Sankirtan and Bhajans is to fill the atmosphere with sacred vibrations and holy thoughts.
The inauguration of the Navaratri celebrations means that you should use this occasion for offering worship to nature and resolving to make sacred use of all natural resources. The Navaratri is to be dedicated by all for the propitiation of the outer as well as the inner divinity, so that the outer and the inner worlds may have peace and joy. By means of systematic Sadhana, it is possible to tap the inner resources that God has endowed on man, and elevate yourselves to the purer and happier realm of the Reality. That is the message of Navaratri, the Nine Day's Festival celebrating the victory of the Primal Energy. That energy, when it is manifested in its quiet aspect (Satvic), is delineated as the Great Teacher and Inspirer, Maha- Saraswati; when it is active and potent (Rajasic), the great Provider and Sustainer, Maha-Lakshmi; when it is dull and inactive, but latent and apparently quiet (Tamasic), as the Great Dark Destroyer and Deluder, Mahakali. Since Shakti is all-pervasive, omni-potent, infinitesimal as well as all-comprehensive, it can be contacted everywhere, in outer nature or inner consciousness. Prahlada told his doubting father: 'Why doubt, discuss and delay? Seek it anywhere; you can see It.' It is near and far, before, behind, beside and inside, everything in the known and the unknown world. People dare describe Her or Him, as thus and thus; that reveals only their faculty to guess. No description can portrait in full ".
