"Soy como el río, Mi deber es fluir. Algunas personas beberán de este río y saciarán su sed, algunas personas escupirán en él. Está bien, no me importa! Yo fluiré ".
En el proceso de nuestro viaje del 'Yo' a 'Nosotros' a 'Él'; Él nos dice, nos guía y nos instruye. Y si pide alguna instrucción espiritual, se esfuerza al máximo por explicarse.
Él ofrece bocadillos tan bellos de discursos espirituales sobre temas como 'Entrega', 'Devoción', 'Fe'; dependiendo de las necesidades del devoto.
Desde hechos simples hasta las verdades más complicadas, nos enseña a seamos como Èl.
Además en los proyectos complicados más grandes, incluso día a día, Él siempre está ahí para guiarnos. Pero muchas veces, ignoramos lo que dice.
Muchas veces, giramos y giramos Sus palabras para adaptarlas a nuestra conveniencia. Interpretamos su guía de la manera que queremos porque, eso es lo que es cómodo y fácil para nosotros.
Pero es muy triste porque con tanta sinceridad nos dice que hagamos algo para nuestro mayor bien, así que no creas que tenemos derecho a torcer, girar, interpretar, traducir y tener nuestra propia versión de las cosas, solo porque se sienten cómodos de esa manera y se ajusta a nuestra conveniencia.
Como dice Alfred Lord Tennyson, "Lo nuestro no es dar respuestas, lo nuestro no es razonar por qué ; lo nuestro es hacer o morir". Esa debería ser la actitud con Swami.
Cuando le dice a alguien, "haz esto"; Èl sabe que es la mejor manera de que él o ella pueda ser como Èl. Para otra persona, da otra instrucción. Esa es la forma en que él o ella se supone que debe comunicarse con Èl.
Y tiene una instrucción, personalizada para todos. Diferentes personas; diferentes golpes. A veces nos dice que hagamos cosas diferentes y a veces nos pone juntos para hacer lo que Èl quiere, dos personas de pensamiento diferentes juntos!
Y entonces estamos casi al borde de la tercera guerra mundial!! Pero de nuevo Èl está allí para los beligerantes con el tratado de paz, sosteniendo la bandera blanca, para que no perdamos la causa mayor, por un problema insignificante.
Swami está tomando tanto esfuerzo, tanto dolor para enseñarnos. ¿Qué demonios puede hacer, que hagan algo por alguien, que no sea su propia voluntad.? ¿Puede alguien decidir que debería hacer esto y no eso? Es por Su propia compasión y voluntad, que Él continúa. Él trabaja muy duro. Él, quizás estaba trabajando así de duro incluso desde antes. Solo que no estaba trabajando tan duro como Èl.
Él va de casa en casa, de ciudad en ciudad, de Ashram a Ashram, de un proyecto a otro por nuestro bien.
Ahora me doy cuenta, en lo más profundo de su corazón, cuánto siente por todos nosotros, cuánto quiere que todos lleguemos a ser lo que Él quiere que lleguemos a ser. Es por eso que Él está creando más y más oportunidades.
Cuando dice 'Haz un Ashram aquí', sabe muy bien que va a ser muy difícil, porque va a haber oposición, reacción, resistencia y luego dentro de nosotros tendremos malentendidos, pero aún cuando persistimos finalmente las cosas suceden.
Veo que da instrucciones en todas partes, pero también veo el hecho de que estas instrucciones a veces se siguen, a veces no se siguen, otras veces se siguen parcialmente y en ocasiones ni siquiera se les presta atención.
Una vez, Swami convocó a muchos jóvenes para la reunión de jóvenes aquí y gastó una fortuna en comida, alojamiento y comodidades, e hizo varias preguntas personales sobre si se sentían cómodos en el Ashram, ya que muchos eran muy nuevos en Swami, nuevos en este lugar. Swami es un anfitrión perfecto. Él quiere estar al tanto de todo cuando se trata de alojar gente. "¿Hay agua caliente allí?", "¿Tienen camas, mantas, cubos?" "¿Has tirado el inodoro y has visto si el lavado funciona?". ¡Él va al extremo del detalle! 'Esta fue nuestra primera experiencia de organizar este tipo de reunión en Muddenahalli para muchos jóvenes nuevos que habían venido de todo el país.
Después de que la reunión de jóvenes terminó, Swami estaba muy feliz. Pronunció el discurso de despedida y regresaba en su automóvil a "Anandam" cuando Narasimha Murthy comentó: "Swami, estás haciendo tanto esfuerzo para transformar a las personas, haciendo todo por ellos, pero no sabemos cuánto realmente han entendido y cuántos van a seguir Tu mensaje. Swami se dio la vuelta y dijo: "No me preocupo si lo seguirán o no, solo quiero cumplir con mi deber.
Soy como el río, Mi deber es fluir. Algunas personas beberán de este río y saciarán su sed, algunas personas escupirán en él. Está bien, no me importa! Yo fluiré. Porque ese es mi deber. Mi trabajo es dar. Lo que hacen con él es su destino. Daré a todos por igual, amorosamente, desinteresadamente. "
¡Ese es Swami! A veces, incluso me siento abrumado. '¡Swami! Hiciste mucho por esa persona. Fuistes después de todos Tus problemas y los resolvistes a todos por su bien y hoy te han dado la espalda y se han ido por algo que no era favorable para ellos ".
Entonces Swami dice: "Déjalo ser" (Let it be).
Y pregunto desconcertado, '¡Swami! ¿Cómo puedes ser tan indulgente? Incluso si hago poco por alguien, espero que la persona al menos lo use bien y no lo desperdicie. ¡Y aquí estás haciendo tanto por ellos y simplemente te olvidan al final y todo lo bueno que has hecho! ¿Y así y todo no estás molesto? "Swami dice," Nunca hice nada esperando nada a cambio. Es por eso que nunca me importó. Mi alegría está en hacer y amar. Realmente no esperaba que ellos también me amaran; ellos también adorarán, me adorarán; piensa en Mí como Dios. Seguí haciendo, porque eso está en Mi naturaleza. Eso es lo que Soy. ¡Eso es amor puro!
" Si quieres conocerMe, se Yo!",
me lo dijo una vez. Aquí estoy tratando de explicarles a todos lo que significa " Se Yo. Lo que se necesita para "Sér" de verdad. Él es tan serio al respecto. Y también será mejor que lo haga en serio. Si todos los días, no estamos perdiendo un poco de lo que no es "Él" en nosotros, no estamos progresando. Tenemos que ser conscientes de esto.
Sólo cuando somos conscientes podemos progresar.
Al final de todo, nos dirá:
" Te lo dije, haz esto, sé así. Así es como vas a llegar aquí. Pero tú no lo hiciste, qué puedo hacer ahora? "

“I am like the river, My duty is to flow. Some people will drink from this river and quench their thirst, some people will spit into it. Its alright, I don’t care! I will flow.”
In the process of our journey from ‘I’ to ‘We’ to ‘He’; He tells us, guides us, and instructs us. And If you ask any spiritual instructions, all the more He makes extra efforts to explain to you. He gives such beautiful pellets of spiritual discourses on topics like ‘Surrender’, ‘Devotion’, ‘ Faith’; depending on the devotee’s needs. From simple facts to the most complicated truths, He teaches us about to make us like Him. Apart from bigger complicated projects, even on a day to day basis, He is always there to guide us. But many times, we ignore what He says. Manya times, we twist and turn His words to suit our convenience. We interpret His guidance the way we want it because, that’s what is comfortable and easy for us. But it is so sad because with so much of sincerity He tells us to do something for our own hugest good, so don’t think we have any rights to twist, turn, interpret, translate and have our own version of things just because we are comfortable that way and it fits our bill of convenience.
As Alfred Lord Tennyson says, “Ours is not to give reply, Ours is not to reason why; Ours is but to do or die". That should be the attitude with Swami.
When He says to someone , “Do this”; He knows that it is the best way he or she can become like Him. To somebody else, He gives another instruction. That is the way he or she is supposed to reach Him. And He has an instruction, customised for everyone. Different folks; different strokes. He at times tells us to do different things and sometimes He puts us together to do what He wants, two different thinking people together! And then we are almost on the verge of third world war!! But again He is there for the warring us with the peace treaty, holding the white flag, so that we don’t lose the greater cause for a pettier issue.
Swami is taking so much of effort, so much pain to teach us. What on earth can make Him do anything for anybody, other than His own will. Can somebody decide that He should do this and not that? It’s out of His own compassion and will, He continues. He works so hard. He, perhaps was working this hard even before. Just that I was not working as hard as Him. He goes from house to house, city to city, ashram to ashram, from one project to another for our sake. I now realize, in His heart of hearts, how much He feels for all of us, how much He wants us all to become what He wants us to become. That is why He is creating more and more opportunities. When He says, ‘Do an ashram over here’, He very well knows that it is going to be the most difficult thing because there is going to be opposition, reaction, resistance and then within ourselves we will have misunderstandings but still when we persist finally things happen. I see Him give instructions everywhere, but I also see the fact that these instructions are sometimes followed, sometimes are not followed, other times are partially followed and at times not even paid heed to.
Once, Swami had called lot of youth for the Youth Meet over here and spent a fortune on their food, accommodation and their comforts and made several personal enquiries about whether they were comfortable in the ashram as many were very new to Swami, new to this place. Swami is a perfect host. He wants to be right on top of everything when it comes to hosting people. ‘Is hot water there?’, ‘Do they have beds, blankets, buckets?’ ‘Have you flushed the toilet and seen if the flush is working?’!! He goes to that extent of detailing!’ This was our first experience of organising this kind of a meet in Muddenahalli for a lot of new youths who had come from around the country.
After the youth meet got over, Swami was very happy. He gave the valedictory discourse and was returning in His car to ‘Anandam’ when Narasimha Murthy Sir remarked, ‘Swami, You are putting in so much effort to transform people, doing everything for them, but we don’t know how many have really understood and how many are going to follow your message.’ Swami turned around and said, “I don’t worry if they would follow or not, I just want to do My duty. I am like the river, My duty is to flow. Some people will drink from this river and quench their thirst, some people will spit into it. Its alright, I don’t care! I will flow. Because that is what is My duty. My job is to give. What they do with it is their fate. I will give everybody equally, lovingly, selflessly.” That is Swami!
Sometimes, even I get overwhelmed. ‘Swami! You did so much for that person. You went after all their problems and solved all of them for their sake and today they have turned their backs to You and walked away because of some little thing that was not favourable to them’. Then Swami says, “Poni le” (Let it be). And I ask bewildered, ‘Swami! How could you be so lenient? Even if I do little for someone, I expect that the person will at least use it well and not waste it. And here you are doing so much for them and they just forget you at the end and all the good that you have done! And you still are not bothered?’ Swami says, “I never did anything expecting anything in return. That is why I never cared. My joy lies in doing and loving. I really did not expect that they will also love me back; they will also worship, adore me; think of Me as God. I kept on doing because that is in My nature. That is what I am. That is what pure love is!”
“If you want to know Me, become Me!”, He told me once.
Here I am just trying to explain to you all as to what that ‘Become Me’ means. What is required to ‘know Him’ truly. He is so serious about it. And we also better get serious about it. If every single day, we are not shedding away a little bit of that which is NOT ‘Him’ in us, we are not progressing. We have to be conscious of this. Only when we are conscious can we progress. Else at the end of it all He will tell us, ‘I told you, do this, be like this. That is how you will reach here. But you did not do it, what can I do now?’
