A Million Meals in the US
How Do We Get There?

One person asked about Swami’s guidance to serve 1 million meals in the US. Another young man was asking what he could do in his community as a service. The answer to both is something that Swami gave an answer to, when asked how we could do this feeding project.

What He said was, “Each one of my devotees should feed at least one person, one meal each day.” Most of us make a lunch for ourselves or our families. What would happen if we made one or more lunches and then distributed them to those in need that we see along the streets of our cities? I had suggested to the young man, to not simply make food and give it to an organization to distribute but to do so, himself. The personal contact saying, “I care about you” to the one in need is as important as the food. Also, taking the time, effort and energy to do this feeding directly also helps us in our process of transformation. As Swami has said many times, all of the service we do is really service to ourselves. It helps us see ourselves as the “other”, moving us closer and closer to unity, the unity that is Sai.

Impact of the Fiji Hospital
The Third Option

Many of us have been looking at the latest opportunity to serve that our wonderful Sai family in Fiji has taken up. They, the Sai Prema Foundation, already have so many programs going on, each one designed to serve those in need in what seems to be an Island Paradise. In some cases, this need is truly dire; indeed, it is life threatening. I found out that 2,700 children are born in the Pacific Region each year with Congenital Heart Disease AND there are zero treatment centers in the entire region, ZERO!!
Currently this leaves two, and only two options:
> One - the family can send the child afflicted with this condition to a developed country and spend tens of thousands of dollars on transportation and the medical operation/intervention necessary.
> Two - they can watch their child suffer and, in many cases, simply die.
Sai Prema Foundation, under Swami’s guidance, is developing a THIRD option:
A completely free of cost Pediatric Cardiology Hospital located in Suva, Fiji, which will provide all necessary treatment for those little ones in need from the entire region. This option offers these children the gift of life. We at DWF fully support this noble effort and are grateful to Swami for being able to be a part of this loving endeavor of providing option three, the option of hope!

Sri Sathya Sai Aarogya Vahini

Sri Sathya Sai Aarogya Vahini is focused on creating access for quality Healthcare and establishing a network for Tertiary care and support in post Primary Screenings and Detection, with its Outreach Model. Two children from Dhanbad and South 24 Parganas, West Bengal, who have Pediatric Cardiac symptoms, came to the Telemedicine set up at Kolkata for a Teleconferencing session with Dr. Yogesh from the Sri Sathya Sai Sanjeevani Hospital in Palwal for Tertiary Cardiac support. One child was screened by a Pediatric Consultant of Sri Sathya Sai Amrutham, Kolkata to rule out symptoms of Down Syndrome. Both children plan to visit Sri Sathya Sai Sanjeevani Hospital for their procedures.

Each One Educate One is proud to share with you that with every passing year, they are able to place more children in schools. In the academic year 2019-20, 3,750 children have been enrolled in their 23 partner schools in rural India.
To ensure each one of these students is mapped to his/her benefactor/s, e1e1 has instituted a donor relations software and the 12-member donor relations team will be working all days of the week to answer queries and to bring the latest updates from the schools. Also, you can now say hello to them on Facebook and Instagram. A revamped global website and a LinkedIn page for everyone to connect and engage with e1e1 professionally, is in the works too!
e1e1 expresses their gratitude for the help they receive to grow every year in supporting the students' education. Of the total 3,750 students, 2,200 have secured their sponsorship for an ongoing academic year and e1e1 is hoping the remaining children will be covered as well, before the end of March.

Amaan & Ayaan Ali Bangash
|
|
e1e1, along with Sai Global Mission is sponsoring Amaan and Ayaan Ali Bangash for a multi-city concert tour in the USA, to bring awareness to the Each One Educate One initiative. The renowned brothers belong to the 7th generation of a musical lineage known as Senia Bangash School. Their father, Amjad Ali Khan who is also their Guru is a well-known Sarod maestro. The brothers have upheld the culture and musical tradition of their family and have performed around the world, including the Carnegie Hall and the Kennedy Center.

Maha Shivaratri Celebrations
in Muddenahalli, India

The celebrations began in the morning of the 21st, with Lingabhishekam where the Lingam was bathed in water, milk, sugar, honey and curds (yogurt); after which Swami walked through the Premamrutham Hall sprinkling everyone with holy water from the Lingabhishekam! The Lingam was then beautifully decorated and a pooja was performed with many offerings including chants from the four Vedas, specific music ragas and a Shiva dance performed by a student.

The 21st evening program began with the lighting of the lamp to start Akhanda Bhajans that continued all night until the following morning.
|

A little over an hour after the Bhajans began, Swami manifested the first Golden Lingam!
|
|
|
Unbeknownst to all, a second Golden Lingam had emerged in the night and was brought to Premamrutham in the morning. Swami walked briefly through the Hall and then sat on His chair on the dais. In almost another hour He manifested the third Golden Lingam. All three Lingams were placed in a tray with flowers. B.N. Narasimha Murthy spoke before Swami followed with His discourse; after which He proceeded to take the tray with the three Lingams closer to all the eager devotees. He then installed them among the flowers in the big Lingam on stage and proceeded to serve Prasadam to the delight of many devotees!
