Una pequeña historia ...Oka Chinna Katha
Es con nostalgia y cariño que recuerdo mis días de estudiante durante mi maestría. Era una época en que Swami (Bhagavan Sri Sathya Sai Baba) nos alentaba a todos los estudiantes, a poner en marcha programas cortos en Su divina presencia en el Salón Sai Kulwant. De hecho, es con cierto orgullo que yo digo que estos programas fueron los precursores de la gran cantidad de programas organizados por los diferentes estados de la India y diferentes zonas del mundo, en la presencia divina en Prashanti Nilayam.
Esa "programación" que se inició a mediados de 2004 continúa en la actualidad con programas organizados por los devotos como parte de la Yatras Parthi (peregrinaciones), las peregrinaciones internacionales se realizan anualmente. Aunque la oportunidad de tomar parte y decir una línea o bailar y cantar al ritmo de una canción fue un gran incentivo para hacer una"programación" normal, también fueron la escusa para realizar satsangh y debates en grupo, sobre la vida y las enseñanzas de Swami.
Fue durante esas charlas en grupo y sus discusiones, que tuvo nacimiento una historia maravillosa. Tan dulce y agradable fue la historia que se ha representado en su presencia física ya dos veces. Las historias tienen algo mágico sobre los espectadores. Encanta y desarmar al oyente. Por eso, durante todo discurso divino, cuando Swami hacia la declaración, " Oka Chinna Katha ", (una pequeña historia) todos los oídos se alertaban y los ojos se iluminaban.
Esta historia que se ha creado es perfecta para una pequeña obra de teatro o dramatización, y se realizo durante los programas Bal Vikas.
Es hermosa, como una historia que se narra a cualquier amante de Sai!
La historia se basa en el gran número de dioses y diosas hindúes. La historia dice así:
El asiento de 'loto' había desaparecido, pero también la diosa Saraswati!
El ladrón Celestial
Los centinelas del Señor Indra, que patrullaban los Cielos, vinieron corriendo a él con gran ansiedad y angustia. Habían sido testigos de algo como nunca antes había ocurrido en el cielo - un delito! .
En el mejor lugar esto es una utopía (¿es eso posible?). Donde la verdad y la justicia reinan, se había producido un robo. Y el acto fue muy cobarde. "¿Qué tipo de robo vinieron a informar?", Pregunto Indra . "¡Oh, gran rey! Los lotos celestiales que servían de asiento para el creador, el Señor Brahma y la diosa del aprendizaje, la Madre Saraswati, no se encuentran en su sitio!. Se han buscado en todo Brahmaloka, y sin embargo, no hay señales de las flores desaparecidas ". "Esto es realmente grave", dijo Indra tras pensar por unos momentos, "la injusticia parece que finalmente se produjo a los cielos también!" ."Pero este crimen palidece en insignificancia cuando escuche otra impactante noticia, oh rey ..."Indra se preparó.
Esto no era lo que él había pensado que pasara en un día hermoso. Su rostro se contorsionó con gran consternación y conmoción al escuchar a los centinelas revelar el terrible secuestro de la gran Diosa del Aprendizaje! "¡No! Eso no puede ser! No me digas que la Madre Saraswati ha sido secuestrada ... ", Indra gimió, cuando él se inclinó y cayó hacia atrás en el asiento real. Sin embargo, rápidamente recuperó la compostura. Él era el rey de los cielos y había enfrentado muchas crisis, aunque esta era realmente único. Se le ocurrió una estratagema, "La búsqueda comenzó por los cinco elementos, porque no hay lugar en el universo que no esté impregnado de los cinco elementos. Ordeno invocar al Espacio, Viento, Fuego, Agua y Tierra ".
Más noticias alarmantes.
Indra no tenía absolutamente ninguna idea de ha lo que se enfrentaba. Fue entonces cuando el sabio celestial, Narada, hizo su aparición. Indra rápidamente le informo sobre lo que había pasado y le preguntó al Sanchari Triloka (vagabundo de los 3 mundos) si había visto a la madre o a los lotos que en algún lugar. "Narayan Narayan", Narada respondió en su observación característica: "Yo no tengo la menor idea. " Mientras tanto, los elementos reunidos en presencia de Indra. Bhoomi, Vayu, Akasha y Varuna estaba en perfecta atención. Pero hey! Espera un minuto! ¿Dónde estaba Agni? El dios del fuego, Agni, fue la ausencia visible. "¿Dónde está el dios del fuego?", pregunto Indra . Las restantes cuatro elementos bajaron la cabeza, cuando Varuna, el dios del agua, habló, "¡Señor! Agni ha desaparecido! Parece que el fuego ha sido secuestrado ". Indra se adormeció en estado de shock. Mientras tanto, el Dios del Dharma y de la Muerte, el Señor Yama, llego a la escena. Parecía furioso y saco girando su maza poderosa. "¿Quién se ha atrevido a robar en los territorios del Señor de la Muerte?", gritó.
El Señor Yama, el dios de la muerte nunca está completo sin su montura - el búfalo!
Una rápida mirada y se volvió evidente para todos, que el búfalo de Yama faltaba! ¡Oh Dios! El ladrón parecía haber golpeado simultáneamente en varios lugares. El terrorismo puso su pie en el cielo?. Mientras Indra estaba aturdido, más noticias llegaban, el dios de la luna había desaparecido! . Y así también la hermosa montaña, Meru. Tampoco la naturaleza no se había salvado. En tiempos difíciles pidió medidas difíciles. Indra decidió utilizar su ejército de nubes! Siendo el Señor de las Lluvias y blandiendo la poderosa Vajra o rayo, él decidió buscar al ladrón y castigarlo. Fue entonces cuando llegó un mensajero corriendo y confirmo que el ejército entero se había perdido! Todo el mundo parecía estar en su juicio final. Toda su fuente de fortaleza y poder parecía haber sido quitado. Decidieron buscar ayuda del poderoso Rudra, el Señor Shiva.
Caos en Kailas
Si lo que había sucedido hasta ahora era del fin del mundo, entonces no hay término que pudiera usarse para describir lo que encontró Indra, cuando llegó con todos los dioses y semidioses al Monte Kailas, la morada del Señor Shiva. Sólo el Señor Karthikeya, el segundo hijo de Shiva, estaba sentado sumido en la tristeza de su montura, el pavo real. La montura de Shiva, el toro Nandi dijo con tristeza, "Hoy por la mañana, descubrimos estupefactos, que el Señor Shiva, la Madre Parvati y su hijo mayor, el amado del universo, el Señor Ganesha, desaparecieron". Las palabras cayeron como un golpe de muerte en todos los corazones. Este ladrón era tan poderoso y si hubiera tenia cautivo al gran Rudra, era poco lo que podía hacer contra él.
Incluso cuando empezaron a desesperarse, un gran pájaro, el águila Garuda, se precipitó desde el cielo. El Señor Vishnu con gracia descendió de su montura y le dedicó una sonrisa amable para todos los que se habían reunido.
El ladrón es atrapado!
"¡Señor! Usted es el único que puede salvarnos de esta calamidad inminente ", clamó el gran Indra en nombre de todos los dioses y diosas. "¿Qué ha pasado? ¿Por qué tanta desesperación en su voz? ""Oh Narayana! Hoy por la mañana, los robos se han multiplicado - los lotos divinos, la luna, el fuego, el búfalo de Yama, el Monte Meru y hasta mi ejército enorme de nubes. Añadido a esto la Madre Saraswati, y ahora, toda la familia en Kailas, salvo Karthikeya han sido secuestrados. No sabemos quién es el culpable, pero tememos a su poder ". "Eso no es necesario!", dijo el Señor Vishnu, "porque él ejerce el mayor poder en el Universo." "Orad, pues, que arma es esa oh señor", preguntó Indra. "El arma se llama AMOR!" Toda la asamblea estaba confundida. Que esta diciendo el Señor Vishnu?. Vishnu sonrió y luego reveló, "Escucha Oh habitantes de los cielos! El Señor Shiva y la MadeParvati Madre no ha sido secuestrado! . Se han ido al mundo por su propia voluntad, como Bhagavan Sri Sathya Sai Baba - el Shiva-Shakti Swaroopa- !
Y para ayudar a esta Avataridad , la luna se ha ofrecido para servirles como la cara, los lotos servirles como sus ojos! Agni, el Señor del fuego le sirve ahora como su vestidura y el bello monte Meru, se asienta en su mejilla como una distinción divina. Y el ejercito de Indra! Está ha su servicio como su pelo rizado y hermoso. El Señor Ganesha se encuentra en la entrada de su morada mientras que la diosa Saraswati está en la entrada de sus campos de entrenamiento educativos. Él ha ido a la tierra para capacitar al hombre con la fuerza más grande del universo "EL AMOR " .
Hubo júbilo y aplausos por todos lados! Esta revelación y la garantía de Lord Vishnu trajo celebración en todas partes. Sin embargo, en el mar de caras felices, había una infeliz la del señor"Yama". ¡Señor! ¿Qué pasa con mis búfalos? ", Exclamó. "¡Ah! Me olvidaba! Los ha tomado a todos como a sus estudiantes - Él los llama, Dunnapota - ! Y así fue que el ladrón celestial resultó ser nuestro querido Chitta Chora Swami!

One small story...Oka Chinna Katha
It is with nostalgia and fondness that I remember my student days during my MSc. It was a time when Swami (Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai Baba) encouraged all of us students to put up short programmes in His divine presence in the Sai Kulwant Hall. In fact, it is with some pride that I say that these programmes were the precursors for the plethora of programmes organized by different states in India and different zones of the world in the divine presence at Prasanthi Nilayam. That ‘programming’ which began in mid 2004 continues to this day with programmes being organized by devotees as part of theParthi Yatras and the international pilgrimages on an annual basis.
While the chance to act a part and speak a line or dance to a rhythm and sing a tune was a great incentive to do regular ‘programming’, the joy ofSatsangh and group discussions on Swami’s life and teachings. It was during such group talks and discussions that a wonderful story took birth. So sweet and nice was the story that it has been depicted in His physical presence twice already.
Stories have some magic about them. They charm and disarm the listener. They thrill and thrall him too! That is why, during any divine discourse, when Swami made the statement, “Oka Chinna Katha”, (one small story) all ears would perk up and eyes light up. This story that was created is perfect as a small play or skit to be performed during the Bal Vikas programmes. If not anything, it is lovely as a story to be narrated to any lover of Sai!
The story is based on the large number of Hindu Gods and Goddesses. The story goes thus:
The 'lotus' seat was missing but so was the Goddess Saraswati!
The Heavenly Thief
The patrolling sentries of the Lord of the Heavens, Indra, came rushing to him in great anxiety and distress. They had witnessed something like never before in the heavens - a crime! In a place which is better than utopia (is that possible?), where truth and righteousness reign supreme, there had been a robbery. And the act was a very dastardly one.
“What sort of robbery are you here to report?”, Indra asked, perplexed at this first time occurrence in his ‘God’dom.
“O great King! The celestial lotuses that served as the seats for the creator, Lord Brahma and the Goddess of Learning, Mother Saraswati, are missing from their pods! The whole of Brahmaloka has been searched and yet, there is no sign of the missing flowers.”
“This is serious indeed”, Indra said after considering pensively for a few moments, “unrighteousness seems to have finally struck at the heavens too!”
“But this crime pales into insignificance when you hear another shocking news O King...”
Indra braced himself. This was not how he had thought of spending a beautiful day. His face contorted with great dismay and shock as he heard the sentries reveal the terrifying kidnapping of the great Goddess of Learning herself!
“No! That cannot be! Don’t tell me that Mother Saraswati has been kidnapped...”, Indra moaned as he drooped and fell back to the royal seat.
However, he quickly regained composure. He was the ruler of the heavens and he had faced many crises, though this was really unique. He came up with a ruse,
“The best search party would be one comprised of the five elements because there is no place in the universe that is not pervaded by the five elements. Summon Space, Wind, Fire, Water and Earth!”, he commanded.
More alarming news
Indra had absolutely no idea what he was up against. That was when the celestial sage, Narada, made his appearance. Indra quickly updated him on what had happened and enquired from the triloka sanchari (wanderer of the 3 worlds) whether he had seen the Mother or the missing lotuses anywhere.
“Narayan Narayan”, Narada replied in his characteristic remark, “I do not have the slightest idea.”
In the meanwhile, the elements assembled in Indra’s presence. Bhoomi, Vayu, Akasa and Varuna stood in perfect attention. But hey! Wait a minute! Where was Agni? The God of fire, Agni, was conspicuous byhis absence.
“Where is the fire god?”, Indra asked.
The remaining four elements hung their heads low as Varuna, the God of water, spoke,
“My Lord! Agni is missing! It appears that fire has been stolen away from us.”
Indra went numb in shock. In the meanwhile, the God of Dharma and Death, Lord Yama, arrived on the scene. He seemed furious and came swirling his mighty mace.
“Who has dared to steal the mount of the the Lord of Death?”, he bellowed.
Lord Yama, the God of death is never complete without his mount - the buffalo!
One quick look and it became evident to all the that Yama’s buffalo was missing! Oh God! The thief seemed to have struck simultaneously at multiple places. Was terrorism setting planting its foot in the heavens?
As Indra sat dazed, more news poured in. The Moon God had gone missing! And so had the beautiful mountain, Meru. Nature too had not been spared. Tough times called for tough measures. Indra decided to use the last power in his arsenal - his might cloud army! Being the Lord of the Rains and wielding the powerfulVajra or the thunderbolt, he decided to search out the thief and punish him. That was when the last straw arrived. A messenger ran in stating that the entire cloud army itself had gone missing!
Everyone seemed to be at their wits end. All their sources of strength and power seemed to have been taken away. They decided to seek the help of the powerful Rudra, Lord Shiva.
Chaos in Kailas
If what had happened thus far was doomsday, then no term could be used to describe what met Indra’s eyes when he arrived with all the gods and demigods to Mount Kailas, the abode of Lord Shiva. Only Lord Karthikeya, the second son of Shiva, sat steeped in sorrow on his mount, the peacock. Shiva’s mount, the Nandi said in sorrow,
“Today morning, we found to our utter shock that Lord Shiva, Mother Parvati and their elder son, the beloved of the universe, Lord Ganesha were all missing.”
The words landed like deathblows on everyone’s hearts. This thief was so powerful and if he had taken even the great Rudra captive, there was little they could do against him.
Even as they began to despair, a great bird, the eagle Garuda, swooped from the skies above. Lord Vishnu gracefully descended from His mount and flashed a gentle smile to all that had gathered.
The thief is caught!
“Lord! You alone can save us from this impending calamity”, cried out the great Indra on behalf of all the gods and goddesses.
“What has happened? Why such despair in your voice?”
“Oh Narayana! Today morning, several thefts have been reported - the divine lotuses, the moon, fire, Yama’s buffaloes, Mount Meru and even my huge cloud army. Added to that Mother Saraswati and, now, the whole family at Kailas barring Karthikeya have been kidnapped. we don’t know who is the culprit, but we fear his power.”
“That you must!” Lord Vishnu said, “for he wields the greatest power in the Universe.”
“And pray which weapon is that O lord”, asked Indra.
“The weapon called Love!”
The whole assembly stood confused. What was Lord Vishnu saying? Vishnu smiled and then revealed,
“Listen Oh denizens of the heavens! Lord Shiva and Mother Parvati have not been kidnapped! They have gone to the world on their own accord as Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai Baba - the Shiva-Shaktiswaroopa! And to assist this Avatarhood, the moon has been taken to serve as the face, the lotuses serve as His eyes! Agni, the Lord of fire serves Him now as His vesture and the beautiful mountain Meru, sits on His cheek as the divine mole. And Indra! Your cloud army is in His service as His beautiful curly hair. Lord Ganesha sits at the entrance of His abode while Goddess Saraswati is at the entrance of His educational training grounds. He has gone to the earth to empower man with the greatest force in the Universe - Love.”
There was jubilation and applauding everywhere! This revelation and assurance from Lord Vishnu brought celebration everywhere. However, in the sea of happy faces was one unhappy one - Yama.
“Lord! What about my buffaloes?”, he cried.
“Ah! I forgot! He has only taken them all as His students - Dunnapota - He calls them!
And so it was the the heavenly thief turned out to be our dear Chitta Chora Swami!
