Después de la visita de Swami a kallady lugar de nacimiento de Shankarachaya, la semana pasada, es interesante conectarlo con la importante visita de Swamis a Badrinath: 1961!
* Visita del Señor a el Templo de los Nethralingam, en Badrinath*.
En 1961, Swami visitó el santuario Shivaite (Shiva) más importante en la India, en Varanasi, y el más importante de los santuarios vaishnava (Vishnu), en Badrinath, con el propósito de infundir el poder espiritual en esos dínamos de gracia.
En Varanasi Baba creó una joya extraordinaria para ser colocada en la estatua de Visweshwara y declaro
Que tenía el poder místico de ser capaz de transmitir el poder divino a ese símbolo del Señor.
En Badrinath extrajo de la parte inferior de la estatua de Narayana un Nethralingam, explicó, que fue traído del monte Kailasa e instalado allí en una ceremonia, por nada menos que Shankara, hace unos 1,200 años!
Cuando este Nethralingam surgió en la citación de baba, se abrió un capítulo de la historia;
Un lingam, símbolo de Shiva, como la base del célebre santuario Vishnuista, fue un recordatorio bienvenido de la armonía básica entre Shivaitas y Sishnuitas.
La tradición dice que la estatua de Narayana que está hoy en Badrinath fue lanzada por los invasores al Río Alalcananda y que después de un largo y extenuante ascetismo,
Shankara fue recompensado con la revelación de que la estatua estaba hundida en el Narada Kunda de ese río.

Había estudiado a Shankara Vijaya, de Anandagiri, la biografía clásica de Shankara, y quería conocer el origen de los Lingams que Shankara había colocado en los monasterios que él fundó. La respuesta proviene del Monasterio de Sringeri, erigido por Shankara entre las montañas occidentales del estado de Mysore;
Se le informó que estos Lingams fueron mencionados en el Shivarahasya Mahathihasa, un libro que fue capaz de obtener, después de una búsqueda minuciosa, en la biblioteca de un Colegio Védico en Varanasi.
En el capítulo XVI, Sección IX, se menciona que el señor Shiva dio la bienvenida a Shankara en el Monte Kailasa con las siguientes palabras:
" Has sido nombrado para establecer la verdadera enseñanza de los Vedas en el mundo, es decir, el advaita.
En treinta y dos años de su existencia terrenal, difunde esta fe y vence a aquellos que lo niegan o desacreditan.

Así que, esta historia de los lingam en Badrinath era auténtica!

After the Visit of Swami in SHANKARACHAYA´s KALADY last week, it´s interesting to connect with Swamis important visit in Badrinath: 1961!
*THE VISIT OF THE LORD AT THE TEMPLE OF THE NETHRALINGAM IN BADRINATH.
In 1961, he visited the most important shivaite shrine in India, Varanasi (Varanasi), and
the most important of Vaishnava (Vishnu) sanctuaries, Badrinath, with the purpose to infuse spiritual power in those dynamos of grace.
In Varanasi Baba created an extraordinary jewel to be placed on the statue of Visweshwara and declared
that it had the mystical power to be able to transmit divine power to that symbol of the Lord.
In Badrinath he extracted from the lower part of the statue of Narayana a Nethralingam, which, he explained, was brought from Mount Kailasa and installed there in a ceremony, by none other than Shankara, about 1,200 years ago!
When this Nethralingam arose at the summons of Baba, a chapter in history was opened;
a lingam, symbol of Shiva, as the basis of the celebrated Vishnuite shrine, was a welcome reminder of the basic harmony between Shivaites and Vishnuites.
The tradition says that the statue of Narayana that is today in Badrinath was thrown by the invaders to the Alalcananda river and that after a long and strenuous asceticism,
Shankara was rewarded with the revelation that the statue was sunken in the Narada kunda of that river.
He rescued the statue and placed it in its current location; therefore, when Baba announced that the Nethralingam was the original nucleus that was to be "energized" by Him with the proper rituals and ceremonial ablutions with the sacred waters of the Gangotri, the golden bilva leaves and the flowers of thumme which miraculously materialized in that instant even the administrators of the Badrinath temple were pleasantly surprised!
Baba spoke of that lingam (the fusion of form with the formless) as one of the five that Shankara brought from Mount Kailasa and settled in India, with which admiration increased, and in many a great desire to know arose more about the divine mission of Shankara.
Those who knew Baba accepted the accuracy of the lingam's eminent origin and that unforgettable day, the privilege of being able to see it for some time.
Saligrama Srikanta Shastry was one of those who were eager to check the lingam's authenticity;
he had studied Shankara Vijaya, from Anandagiri, the classical biography of Shankara, and wanted to know the origin of the lingams that Shankara had placed in the monasteries he founded. The answer came from the Sringeri monastery, erected by Shankara among the western mountains of the state of Mysore;
he was informed that these lingams were mentioned in the Shivarahasya Mahathihasa, a book that he was able to obtain, after a thorough search, in the library of a Vedic college in Varanasi.
In chapter XVI, section IX, it is mentioned that Lord Shiva welcomed Shankara on Mount Kailasa with the following words:
"You have been appointed to establish the true teaching of the Vedas in the world, that is, the advaita.
In thirty-two years of your earthly existence to spread this faith and overcome those who deny or discredit it.
Take these five Lingams that I give you. Adorn them with the panchalcshari and satharudrabisheka rites.
Offer them the bilva leaves and the sacred ash, and recite the sacred Pranava (Om).
Complete your three victory journeys, scattering the darkness of dvaita (dualism) and then install, in the sacred places that you choose, these lingams of the three sacred mountain Kailasa, called Yoga, Bhoga, Vara, Mukthi and Moksha,
marked by the brightness of Shiva's Moon (the last phase visible before the new Moon), before you abandon your mortal wrapping in Kanchipuram. “
So, this story of the lingam in Badrinath was authentic!
