Se inauguró el 1 de septiembre de 2017, con el inicio de equipos médicos dirigidos por jóvenes voluntarios de más de 10 países, India, Malasia, Singapur, Indonesia, Japón, Fiji, Australia, Sri Lanka y Nigeria. las mujeres y los niños para lograr la visión común mundial de la maternidad temprana, la primera infancia. De un total de 1471  ECHOs realizados este mes, 647  son nuevos casos cardíacos pediátricos como se muestra en la tabla a continuación. También se realizaron 454  exámenes postoperatorios de pacientes hospitalizados y  370 revisiones y ECOs de seguimiento médico. Todos los servicios se prestan totalmente gratis CHIRAYU CHHATTISGARH El Dr. Raman Singh, Ministro Principal, Chhattisgarh lanzó el 5 de agosto el Programa Chirayu Chhattisgarh en la Presencia Divina en el Espacio Sagrado, Sri Sathya Sai Sowbhagyam - Centro para el Desarrollo Humano, Naya Raipur. Además, tener a los padres cuidar de sus niños inicialmente parecía ridículo. La idea simplemente no parecía ser lógica, estaba confundida; "¿Cómo podrían los padres inexpertos y emocionales ser mejores que las enfermeras separadas, profesionales?". Sin embargo, inmediatamente me di cuenta de que los padres son mucho mejores para calmar a su hijo. No hacen mucho cuidado médico, pero sólo una madre y el padre saben cómo calmar a su hijo ansioso " "Viviendo en una ciudad donde nunca está tranquila, me sentí refrescada y contenta por el silencio de la noche como fui capaz de reflexionar sobre cada día que pasaban. La aplicación facilita la Archivación Clínica de imágenes y la recuperación de estudios previos que se pueden tomar para los debates de panel, manteniendo así una plataforma fuerte para la Gestión de Datos Electrónicos.  MARAVILLA MÉDICA DEL MES - KAJAL Kajal un niño de 4,5 años nos presentó con palpitaciones y fatiga fácil. Su ECHO, cateterismo y TC revelaron el drenaje venoso pulmonar anormal de las venas pulmonares superiores y medias en la aurícula derecha en la unión IVC. La arteria pulmonar derecha fue de 7mm y dejó 12mm con dilatación derecha del corazón. Hicimos el procedimiento quirúrgico el 23 de agosto de 2017 y redirigimos sus venas pulmonares anormalmente drenantes en el atrio izquierdo bajo detención circulatoria total. La mayoría de los procedimientos cardíacos y quirúrgicos pueden lograrse usando Cardioplegia que induce paro cardiaco y bypass cardiopulmonar al reducir la temperatura central del paciente a 30-32 grados. En algunas situaciones, sin embargo, la patología subyacente o la naturaleza de la cirugía propuesta requiere el cese completo de la circulación de la sangre. Esto se puede lograr por * Deep Hypothermic Circulatory Arrest (DHCA) en el que el paciente se enfría a 16 grados preservando así la función del órgano durante el cese de la circulación. Esta técnica reduce las consecuencias de la isquemia de órganos y ha permanecido como el pilar de la protección cerebral durante los procedimientos cardiacos complejos. Kajal se recuperó en el período postoperatorio y fue dado de alta 6 días después del procedimiento. * DHCA es una forma de muerte clínica controlada cuidadosamente en la cual el latido del corazón y toda la actividad del cerebro cesan. PROGRAMA DIVINO DE SALUD DE LA MADRE Y EL NIÑO Sai Sanjeevani Palwal lanzó su programa insignia de divulgación para la pantalla de los niños pequeños. Los niños de la Escuela Primaria de Gobierno de Mirapur fueron los primeros beneficiarios de este programa. Se realizó un examen exhaustivo de los 49 niños y se realizaron sesiones interactivas sobre Salud e Higiene por parte de nuestros voluntarios, además de suministrar suplementos nutricionales para niños Sai Protein.  100 procedimientos de cateterismo completados con éxito en Sai Sanjeevani Palwal El Departamento de Cardiología Pediátrica realizó su primer procedimiento de Cath el 29 de junio de 2017. Chirayu Chhattisgarh is a joint program of the Government of Chhattisgarh and Sri Sathya Sai Sanjeevani Hospital and an endeavour to screen and detect more children of the State with Congenital Heart Diseases and shall include comprehensive training programs for district level field workers including Anganwadi & Asha workers and CMEs for medical officers & pediatricians. The program shall primarily focus on detection , referral and intervention procedures for Congenital Heart Diseases. The program witnessed close to 350 children and their familieswho were operated at Sai Sanjeevani, to encourage and fill the Sai Sanjeevani team with purpose in unison to SERVE MORE CHIDLREN AND HEAL MORE HEARTS. ANKITA  CHATTERJEE  " Dreaming of being a Cardiac Surgeon for the past 3 years, I came here expecting to gain experience in the medical field, but instead got much more than that. As I was entering the Hospital for the first time, I noticed a few people cleaning the reception / entrance area. Upon talking to one of them, I learned that he was actually a father to a 7 month old boy, who recently underwent a VSD Repair at the Hospital. It was at that momen that I realized that this was much more than a Hospital. Not only is it attempting the impossible, it is also a beacon of hope for people who have none otherwise. It epitomizes the kind nature of the human race and manifests it into a successful transformation of the society. " SAIGINI VICKNESWARAN                     " Before visiting the Sri Sathiya Sai Sanjeevani hospital, I had assumed that it would be very similar to the hospitals in the U.K; with order and hygiene being the core value of it the hospital, so I had very high standards. However, as everyone reading this will know, this hospital is the total opposite, love and health are the core values and everything revolves around love. Some people may be wondering what is the difference between health and hygiene; in London, nurses make sure that patients are free from disease, but the doctors in Sanjeevani  go a step beyond that and make sure that they are as comfortable as can be, looking after their mental and social wellbeing as well as their physical wellbeing. It has a temple-like atmosphere; here the doctors and nurses are the gods and goddesses, whilst the patients and their parents, including myself and my family, are the devotees! Another very noticeable difference, is that whatever difficulty a person is facing, during their time here, they will be supported by total strangers who may live on the other side of the country, or even the world - that is the unique beauty of this hospital, it brings together a nation through its poorly, precious children. I came with the intentions of observing how a doctor communicates with their patients but I am leaving with the understanding that there isn't just one set manner of communicating with parents. As a doctor, one needs to be able to subdue a parent's worries with clarity and empathy, calm a crying child with a nursery rhyme or story, and explain a patient's diagnosis with patience. But sometimes there isn't the time to do all of that, which is why the ability to prioritise and work swiftly is present in all of the staff here, allowing them to do the right thing, at the right time. Alongside all of this, I also learnt about the science behind each machinery used in the OT, with the relevant staff taking so much time out of their busy schedule and going out of their way to do so. Despite me putting them at an obvious inconvenience, they brush off my apologies and tell me that they enjoy informing others of their work. In addition, Dr Ashish, the surgeon allowed both Ankita and I to observe the surgeries performed in the OT, something that is unheard of in the UK, due to our age and inexperience. The theory of having the parents being the last and first person a child sees, is mostly unheard of in the U.K. In addition, having the parents look after their children initially seemed ludicrous. The idea just didn't seem to be logical, i was confused; "how could inexperienced, emotional parents be better than detached, professional nurses?". However, I immediately realised that the parents are much better at calming their child. They don't do much medical care, but only a mother and the father will know how to soothe their anxious child " " Living in a city where it is never quiet, I felt refreshed and content by the night's silence  as I was able to reflect on each day as they passed by. Time here has passed as fast as the passing airplanes, and I have enjoyed every minute of it. On coming here,  the introverted me thought "new people, a new place, how am I going to cope for a whole week?". Once again a new branch of my Sai family has been created due to the love each passer by or friend has shown me, I will hold these people and memories close to my heart. Taking me under their wings, the youthful staff have taught me so much, beyond medicine and about life itself. Raipur will always have a place in my heart, having closed the gap a bit more, between my Sai and I. " CELEBRATING BREAST FEEDING WEEK 1-7 August   Sri Sathya Sai Sanjeevani team celebrated the World Breastfeeding week in August by conducting information sessions for patient families at Sai Sanjeevani and at Anganwadi Centres.  A number of Health education material and a very effective short skit was prepared by staff of Sri Sathya Sai Sanjeevani Institute of Nursing & Allied Healthcare Sciences, Divine Mother & Child Health Program team and nurse trainees from the RIT College of Nursing. BHARAT RATHNA SHRI SACHIN TENDULKAR'S VISIT TO  SAI SANJEEVANI Master Blaster Sachin Tendulkar inaugurated India's first Exclusive Paediatric Cathlab and also launched the India Cares Initiative at Sai Sanjeevani, Palwal 3rd August 2017. He spent precious moments with the patients and the hospital staff. In his speech he remarked- "Life is a continuous learning process,my visit to Sri Sathya Sai Sanjeevani has enabled me to expand my heart to experience the amazing work done for the Little Children by Baba" CARDIOLOGY IMAGE ARCHIVING SOLUTION(PACS)-LIVE AT SAI SANJEEVANI Picture Archiving and Communication System (PACS) - A complete Workflow Solution for Cardiology Image Archiving , Viewing  and Reporting solution is now live at SSSSICCHCR. Patient ECHO images are being accessed from Cardiac & Surgery departments of the hospital and is being directly viewed by the medical teams. This implementation has enabled a multi-dimensional view mode of the cardiac images throughout its  lifecycle. Customized reporting Templates (designed by our doctors) with the readings as captured during the ECHO stage,  is available. The application facilitates Clinical image Archiving and retrieving previous studies which can be taken up for panel discussions, thus maintaining a strong platform for Electronic Data Management.  MEDICAL MARVEL OF THE MONTH - KAJAL Kajal a 4.5 year old child presented to us with palpitations and easy fatiguability. Her ECHO ,Cath and CT revealed Large Fossa Ovalis ASD with Partial Anamolous Pulmonary Venous drainage of right upper and middle pulmonary veins to right atrium at IVC junction. The right pulmonary artery was 7mm and left 12mm with right heart dilatation. We did the surgical procedure on 23rd August 2017 and redirected her abnormally draining pulmonary veins into the left atrium under total circulatory arrest. Most cardiac and surgical procedures can be accomplished using Cardioplegia induces cardiac arrest and cardiopulmonary bypass by  reducing the patient's core temperature to 30-32 degrees. In some situations, however the underlying pathology or the nature of the surgery proposed necessitates complete cessation of circulation of blood. This can be achieved by * Deep Hypothermic Circulatory Arrest(DHCA)  wherein the patient is cooled down to 16 degrees thus preserving the organ function during cessation of circulation. This technique reduces the consequences of organ ischemia and has remained the mainstay of brain protection during complex cardiac procedures. Kajal recoverd in the post operative period and was discharged 6 days after the procedure. *DHCA is a form of carefully managed clinical death in which heart beat and all brain activity cease. DIVINE MOTHER AND CHILD HEALTH PROGRAM Sai Sanjeevani Palwal launched its flagship outreach programme to screen little children. Children from Mirapur Government Primary School were the first beneficiaries of this programme. Comprehensive screening was done on all 49 children and interactive sessions on Health and Hygiene were conducted by our volunteers in addition to supplying Sai Protein- nutritional supplement for children.  100 Cath Procedures Successfully completed at Sai Sanjeevani Palwal Department of Paediatric Cardiology performed its first Cath Procedure on 29th June 2017. In a record time of 58 days- the team has performed more than 100 cath procedures at  India's first Exclusive Cath Lab. Kudos to the Medical team on achieving this feat.  Love at Work PEDIATRIC CARDIAC OUTPATIENT SERVICES  (Nov 2016 - August 2017) Since the inception of the Hospital in November 2016, 1571 pediatric cardiac outpatients haven been screened and managed with patients coming from 16 states of the country - Haryana, Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Gujarat, Jharkhand, Jammu & Kashmir, Odisha, Punjab, Manipur, Rajasthan, Uttarahand, West Bengal, Chhattisgarh, Maharashtra and Madhya Pradesh.
