Sai Ram-¿Cuál es el centro de tu vida? .. Charla maravillosa por un estudiante Sai ... 04-2003 ...


La charla a continuación fue tomada de Radio Sai y fue dado por un estudiante Sai a los Divinos Pies de Loto,  en April' 2003:


Permítanme comenzar contando una pequeña historia, la historia de un árbol. Esta especie de árbol se supone que es el más grande y el más alto en el reino vegetal. Se llama el árbol gigante secuoya. Este árbol crece en ciertas partes del continente norteamericano. Este árbol alcanza una altura de más de cien pies. Su circunferencia es expansiva, su fuerza es inmensa. En la corteza del árbol hay una sustancia llamada tanino que le da un color rojizo. Además, es un árbol muy seguro. El fuego no puede quemar el árbol, ni el agua humedecerlo.

Este árbol es como todos y cada uno de nosotros en nuestra juventud - fuerte e invencible. Pero que hace que caiga este árbol? 
Este árbol crece más y más. A consecuencia de su crecimiento, se cae, porque no puede soportar su propio peso. ¿Por qué? El árbol tiene raíces poco profundas.

No importa lo que somos en nuestras vidas, no importa lo fuerte, joven y poderoso que estamos, si nuestras raíces no son lo suficientemente profundas, caeremos. 
Nuestro Señor dijo esta mañana que la juventud es el fundamento de la vida. Si esta base no es suficientemente fuerte, si no se profundiza lo suficiente, el edificio de nuestra vida se derrumbará cuando incluso una pequeña sacudida de tierra ocurra.

¿Dónde debemos basar este fundamento de nuestras vidas? Generalmente buscamos una educación como la base de este fundamento. Creemos que la educación nos dará el conocimiento, la sabiduría y la inteligencia para que la base de nuestra vida sea fuerte,  lo que nos hará fuertes.

Ocurrió cuando éramos estudiantes de primaria en la escuela de Swami. Un día Swami vino a nuestra escuela y dijo: "Muchachos! La educación para la que han venido aquí,  es como el idli y todo lo que te enseñan es como chutney(salsa)". Uno de los chicos comentó: "Swami, idli se supone que es el plato principal y chutney" es sólo el plato de acompañamiento. Tu Amor, Tus enseñanzas son como el idli y la educación mundana es como chutney ". 

Para esto, Swami respondió: "¡Oh! ¡No!" Pero los chicos argumentaron, "Swami, es más importante para nosotros. Eres como el idli, el mundo es como el chutney". 

Después de algún tiempo. Swami nos miró con una sonrisa y dijo: "Mira, sin la salsa picante, idli es soso, insípido e inútil." Sin el amor de Swami, sin sus enseñanzas, sin Swami en nuestras vidas, nuestras vidas son simples e inútiles.


Preguntémonos: "¿Como será nuestra vida sin Swami?" Nuestras raíces será tan poco profunda como los del árbol de madera roja. Cualquier brisa nos derribara, incluso una pequeña ráfaga de viento nos ara caer.

En nuestras vidas, a esta edad, siempre buscamos un buen pedazo de tierra donde podamos profundizar nuestras raíces, buscamos un centro en nuestras vidas. Muchas veces, los jóvenes eligen un centro malo para sus vidas.


Les voy a dar un pequeño ejercicio. Sólo cierren los ojos y piensen por sí mismos. ¿Qué es lo que te motiva todos los días? ¿Quién es la persona que influye en cada acción suya? ¿Son nuestros padres el centro de nuestras vidas? ¿O son nuestros amigos el centro de nuestras vidas? 
Por favor, recuerda que Dios es nuestro único amigo de verdad. En otras palabras, ¿cuál debe ser el centro de nuestras vidas? Necesitamos un centro que sea el más fuerte. Necesitamos a Sai como el centro de nuestras vidas.

Queridos hermanos y hermanas, somos muy afortunados. Somos una generación en esta tierra bendecida con una oportunidad muy rara. ¿Dónde ha habido un Avathar tan fácilmente accesible para millones, sobre todo para gente como nosotros? Si hacemos de Él el centro de nuestra vida, nuestra vida adquiere algún valor.

Fue un día en Kodaikanal. Swami me preguntó:
"¿Estás listo para hacer lo que yo diga?"
"Sí, Swami, estoy listo", le contesté.
Con una sonrisa, Swami dijo, "Muy bien, ¿estás seguro?"
Le dije: "Claro. Swami, voy a hacer lo que me digas."
"Entonces ve a la terraza y salta hacia abajo", dijo el Señor.

Me quedé petrificado. Swami me había pedido que hiciera algo que yo nunca haría concientemente. Lo miré a los ojos a Swami, yo había dado mi palabra a Swami, yo tenía que hacer lo que el me mandó.


Me levanté y corrí hacia las escaleras. Pero antes de que pudiera llegar al pie de la escalera, Swami me cogió en sus brazos. Me miró y dijo: "Bangaru, yo no te pedirla que hagas tal cosa. Incluso si tu saltaras hacia abajo, antes de llegar al suelo, con mis brazos te atraparia."


Queridos hermanos y hermanas, necesitamos un centro en nuestras vidas. Necesitamos un centro al que nunca le dejemos ir.

El incidente no se detuvo allí. Al día siguiente nos estaban sirviendo el desayuno en el comedor. Ese día, el menú para el desayuno era arroz y berenjena. Swami vino a mí con su sonrisa misteriosa y me preguntó:

"¿Estás listo para hacer lo que yo digo?"
Esta vez, me quedé en silencio. No tuve el valor de hablar.
"No voy a pedir que saltes de la terraza, ¿harás lo que yo diga?"
Le dije: "Swami, yo lo haré." Los acontecimientos de la noche anterior me había dado mucha confianza.

Swami me miró, señaló el cubo de berenjena, y arroz,  y dijo: "Siéntate y come el balde entero de la berenjena con arroz". Brinjal no era exactamente mi verdura preferida. Le mire suplicante a Swami. Swami sonrió, todos a su alrededor  sonrieron a carcajadas.El chutney se añadía a mi desayuno cuando dijo: "Bangaru, si quieres hacer feliz a Swami, no es necesario que saltes de la terraza o comas cubos de berenjena y arroz. Usted no tiene que hacer nada grandioso. Just be good .. ..Solo se bueno... Eso es todo lo que quiero de ti. "

Si tenemos un centro  que nos haga muy fuertes, que inspire la bondad y la piedad en nosotros, tenemos que pedir algo más?

Todos creemos en la ley del Karma y la doctrina de la reencarnación. Hemos estado aquí muchas veces antes. Hemos estropeado todos los nacimientos nuestros anteriores, es por eso que estamos aquí de nuevo. Esta es una oportunidad en que podemos vivir de otra manera. Podríamos haber tenido diferentes centros en nuestras vidas anteriormente - el dinero, el poder o algo por el estilo. Pero se nos da una oportunidad de nuevo, sólo para vivir correctamente.

Esta vez, Dios está aquí con nosotros, para enseñarnos cómo vivir nuestras vidas. ¿No es prudente de nuestra parte seguirlo a Él, para que Él sea el centro de nuestras vidas, para hacer de esta vida la última que vamos a vivir gloriosamente hasta el final, haciendo su trabajo, inspirándose en sus enseñanzas, viviendo nuestras vidas por Sai y haciendo del mensaje de Sai ,  nuestras vidas?


La oportunidad es nuestro todo. El Señor mismo nos lo regala. Él está de pie con los brazos abiertos diciendo: "Venid, hijo, se parte de mi misión. Haz tu vida diferente". Hagamos lo que hagamos en Su Nombre es para nosotros mismos, para que nuestra vida valga la pena.

Hagamos de  Sai el centro de nuestras vidas. Todos hemos venido aquí para una tarea y nuestro Señor está dispuesto a darse a nosotros. Aprovechemos esta oportunidad, vamos a moldear nuestras vidas, en algo que Dios se sienta orgulloso.

Sai Ram - What is the centre of your life?.. Wonderful talk by a Sai Student... April 2003...



The Below Talk was taken from Radio Sai and was given by a Sai Student at the Divine Lotus Feet in April'2003 :


Let me begin by telling you a little story, a story of a tree. This species of tree is supposed to be the largest and the highest in the plant kingdom. It is called the Giant Redwood tree. This tree grows in certain parts of the North American continent. This tree reaches the height of over a hundred feet. It's girth is expansive, its strength is immense. In the bark of the tree is a certain substance called tannin that gives it the red colour. Also, it gives the tree a lot more security. Fire cannot burn this tree, nor can water wet it.

This tree is like each and every one of us in our youth - strong and invincible. But what brings the downfall of this tree? This tree grows higher and higher.

Thereafter, it falls down because it cannot bear its own weight. Why? The tree has shallow roots.

No matter what we are in our lives, no matter how strong, young and powerful we are, if our roots are not deep enough, we will fall. Our Lord said this morning that youth is the foundation of life. If this foundation is not strong enough, if it does not go deep enough, the building of our life will collapse when even a small earth-shake strikes.

Where should we base this foundation of our lives ? Generally we seek an education as the base of this foundation. We think that education will give us knowledge, wisdom and intelligence so that the foundation of our lives is strong, so that we will be strong.

It was when we were primary school students in Swami's school. One day Swami came to our school and said, "Boys! The education for which you have come here is like idli and all that I teach you is like chutney." One of the boys remarked, "Swami, idli is supposed to be the main dish and chutney 'is only the side dish. Your Love, Your teachings are like the idli and the worldly education is like chutney." To this, Swami replied, "Oh! No!" But the boys argued, "Swami, you are more important to us. You are like the idli, the world is like the chutney." After some time. Swami looked at us with a smile and said, "See, without the chutney, idli is bland, tasteless and useless." Without Swami's Love, without His teachings, without Swami in our lives, our lives are bland and useless.


Let us ask ourselves, "What will be our lives without Swami?" Our roots will be as shallow as those of the red wood tree. Any breeze will blow us down, even a small gust of wind will bring us down to the earth.

In our lives, at this age, we always seek a good piece of earth where we can strike our roots, we seek a centre of our lives. Many a time, the youngsters outside choose a wrong centre for their lives.


I'll give you a small exercise. Just close your eyes and think for yourselves. What is the thing that drives you every day? Who is the person that influences every action of yours? Are our parents the centre of our lives? Or are our friends the centre of our lives? Please remember, God is our only true friend. In other words, what should be the centre of our lives? We need a centre that is the strongest. We need Sai as the centre of our lives.

Dear brothers and sisters, we are very lucky. We are a generation on this earth blessed with a very rare opportunity. Where has been an Avathar so easily accessible to the millions, especially to people like us? If we make Him the centre of our lives, our lives will acquire some value.

It was a day in Kodaikanal. Swami asked me,
"Are you ready to do whatever I say?"
"Yes Swami, I am ready," I replied.
With a smile, Swami said, "All right, are you sure?"
I said, "Sure. Swami, I will do whatever You say."
"Then go to the terrace and jump down," said the Lord.


I was stunned. Swami had asked me to do something which I would never do in my senses. I looked into Swami's eyes, I had given my word to Swami, I had to do whatever He commanded me.


I got up and made a dash to the stairs. But before I could get to the foot of the stairs, Swami grabbed me in His arms. He looked at me and said, "Bangaru, I will never ask you to do such a thing. Even if you jump down, before you reach the ground, 1 will come with My arms to catch you."


Dear brothers and sisters, we need a centre that will never let go of us. We need a centre whom we will never let go of.

The incident did not stop there. The next day we were serving breakfast in the dining hall. That day, the item for breakfast was brinjal rice. Swami came to me with His mysterious smile and asked,


"Are you ready to do whatever I say?"
This time, I was silent. I didn't have the courage to speak out.
"I won't ask you to jump from the terrace, will you do whatever I say?"
I said, "Swami, I will." The events of the previous evening had given me much confidence.


Swami looked at me, pointed to the bucket of brinjal-rice kept there and said, "Sit down and eat the entire bucket of brinjal-rice." Brinjal was not exactly my favourite vegetable. I looked pleadingly at Swami. Swami smiled, everyone around had a hearty laugh.


Then He stopped. The chutney was being added to my breakfast when He said, "Bangaru, if you want to make Swami happy, you need not jump from the terrace or eat buckets of brinjal-rice. You need not do anything great. Just be good.... Just be good... That's all I want from you."

If we have such a centre that will hold us so strong, that will inspire so much of goodness and godliness in us, do we need to ask for anything more?

We all believe in the law of Karma and the doctrine of rebirth. We have been here many times before. We have messed up all our previous births, that is why we are here again. This is one chance when we can live differently. We might have had different centres in our lives previously - money, power or anything of that sort. But we are given a chance again, just to live correctly.

This time, God is here with us, to teach us how to lead our lives. Is it not prudent on our part to go on to Him, to make Him the centre of our lives, to make this the last life which we will live gloriously to the end, doing His work, being inspired by His teachings, living our lives for Sai and making Sai's message our lives?


The opportunity is our's. The Lord is gifting Himself to us. He is standing with open arms saying, "Come, my children, Be a part of My Mission. Make your life different." Whatever we do in His Name is for ourselves so that our lives will become more worthwhile.

Make Sai the centre of your lives. We have all come here for a task and our Lord is ready to give Himself to us. Let us seize this opportunity, let us mould our lives into something which God will feel proud about.
