Mi Señor, yo mismo - Sathya Sai Recuerdos
El Gurú no es una necesidad social. No es un símbolo de estatus como un coche o una casa, las joyas o las cosas que nos hacen sentir especial, y cuando ese sentimiento especial se ha ido, se puede descartar por algo mejor. No es un cubo de basura o papelera en la que puede ser botada toda la negatividad y la neurosis . Él es el puro espíritu refulgente, el que disipa la oscuridad, el epítome de lo que cada individuo debe aspirar a ser. Su dominio es el espíritu, que aparece en nuestras vidas y nos guía en este reino. Una vez que el vínculo con el gurú se ha establecido, el tiempo no lo puede cambiar, ni la muerte erradicar. Se trata de una unión permanente. El gurú se queda en tu vida después de la vida.
La semana pasada escuche hablar con interés a Isaac Tigrett (parte uno) publicadas en Facebook. En la charla, él describe, cómo a partir de la edad de trece años, sintió que alguien estaba hablándole mentalmente a él. No tenía idea de quién o qué era el contacto. Sabía con certeza que el contacto no era parte de sus procesos mentales. Sentía intuitivamente que esta comunicación sutil, se desarrollaba en sus pensamientos, y que venía de lejos. Les dijo a sus padres de su terrible experiencia con la comunicación interna. Sus padres, obviamente, preocupados, llamaron a un amigo Dr Norman Vincent Peale, que les ofreció un poco de consuelo. Isaac pasó unas vacaciones de verano con el doctor Peale, (un conocido predicador y escritor de su época). Allí recibió un buen consejo de Peale acerca de la necesidad de identificar su vida espiritual, y llegar a comprenderla.
Algunos años más tarde, Isaac fue a la India en una visita prolongada, para encontrar la fuente de su experiencia espiritual interna. Al final de su visita a la India, volvió a recibir instrucciones de no-verbales, de visitar a Sai Baba, un gurú entonces poco conocido, que vivía en el sur de la India. En esa primera visita a Sai Baba, que tuvo lugar en el Ashram de Whitefield, Sai Baba se acercó y le habló a Isaac y le dijo: "Por fin, usted ha venido. He estado esperándolo. Tenemos mucho trabajo que hacer juntos. No somos amigos, somos viejos amigos. "
Sai Baba no volvió a hablar con él físicamente por los próximos 14 años.
La gente escucha a Isaac contar su historia fascinante con razón, y curiosidad por saber más. No sé si va a revelar mucho más sobre el tema de la orientación no-verbal, o "radiodifusión", como él lo llama. Lo que puedo compartir con los lectores de este blog es que Sai Baba guió a muchos devotos a través de una conexión interna no verbal. Era algo que muchos de nosotros compartimos con Isaac. Debo mencionar también que la conexión no verbal, es la forma tradicional de enseñanza del gurú al discípulo, aunque muchas veces no sea comprensible para nosotros en ese momento.
Recuerdo que en mi primera visita a Sathya Sai Baba, durante mi estancia en uno de los galpones antiguos, una noche, sin poder dormir, oí que mi nombre era llamado en cuatro ocasiones, desde algún lugar de la región de mi corazón. Después oí un mensaje personal. Al final de esta conversación no verbal, llegaron estas maravillosas palabras: debes abrir tu amplio corazón . ESTOY EN TU CORAZÓN.
Las palabras utilizadas para transmitir el pequeño mensaje no estaban en Inglés que normalmente uso, en realidad las palabras fueron redactadas de tal manera, que tenía que escuchar con atención lo que se decía, al igual que uno escucha a alguien en el otro extremo del teléfono. Esta pequeña instrucción no verbal, por supuesto, era para mí y solo yo, aunque no tenía ni idea del significado.
Al día siguiente, mi grupo se les dio una entrevista: Yo no estuve en el darshan de la mañana, a pesar de que sabía intuitivamente que mi grupo seria llamado.
NUESTRA VIDA ES SU MENSAJE...
The Guru is not a social necessity. He is not a status symbol like a car, or a house, jewels or those things that make us feel special, and when that special feeling has gone, can be discarded for something better. He is not a dustbin or wastebasket into which all negativity and neurosis can be thrown. He is the pure effulgent spirit, the dispeller of darkness, the epitome of what each individual should aspire to be. His domain is the spirit, and it is to guide us into this realm that he appears in our lives. Once the link with the guru is established, time cannot change it nor death eradicate it. It is a permanent union. The guru stays with you life after life.
Last week I listened with interest to Isaac Tigrett’s talk (part One) posted on Facebook. In the talk, he describes how, from the age of thirteen, he felt someone was broadcasting to him. He had no idea who or what was contacting him. He knew for certain the contact was not part of his mental processes. He felt intuitively that this subtle communication, unfolding in his thoughts, was coming from afar. He told his parents of his ordeal with the inner broadcast. His parents, obviously worried, called on a friend, Norman Vincent Peale, who offered some comfort. Isaac spent a summer holiday with Dr. Peale, (a noted preacher and writer of his day). There he received sound advice from Peale about the need to identify his spiritual life, and come to terms with it.
Some years later, Isaac left for India on an extended visit to find the source of his inner spiritual experiences. At the end of his Indian visit, he again received non-verbal instructions to visit Sai Baba, then a little known guru, living in the South Of India. On that first visit to Sai Baba, which took place in the Whitefield Ashram, Sai Baba walked over and spoke to Isaac, telling him, “At last, you have come. I have been waiting. We have much work to do together. We are not new friends, we are old friends.” Sai Baba was not to speak to him again physically for another 14 years.
People listening to Isaac tell his fascinating story are rightly curious to know more. I don’t know if he will reveal too much more on the subject of non-verbal guidance, or “broadcasting” as he calls it. What I can share with readers of this blog is that Sai Baba guided many, many devotees through an inner connection. It was something many of us shared with Isaac. I might also mention that the non-verbal is the traditional means of instruction from guru to disciple, although oftentimes it is not comprehensible to us at the time.
I remember on my first visit to Sathya Sai Baba, I too, while staying in one of the ancient sheds one night, unable to sleep, heard my name being called four times from somewhere in the region of my heart. After which I heard a personal message. At the end of this non-verbal conversation, came these wonderful words: YOU MUST OPEN YOUR HEART WIDE. I AM IN YOUR HEART. The words used to convey the small message were not in the English I normally use, actually the words were phrased in such a way, that I had to listen carefully to what was being said; much like listening to someone on the other end of the phone. This small non verbal instruction, of course, was meant for me and me alone, although I had no idea of the meaning it conveyed at the time. The next day my group were given an interview: I was not at darshan that morning, although I knew intuitively that my group would be called.
