No es suficiente si me quieres. También tengo que quererte a ti.
Recientemente, Swami casó a dos de los hijos de sus devotos. De repente, un día, Swami me pidió que fuera a Madurai. Entonces, tomé un día libre y volé a Madurai. Swami me pidió que tomara una tarjeta de invitación a una boda y se la llevara al templo y que le dijera a la Madre, Madurai Meenakshi, que debía bendecir esta boda en particular y que con Su gracia debería suceder. Simplemente obedecí porque aveces no entiendo mucho lo que Él hace y en qué nivel Él trabaja. Ofrecí esta tarjeta y oré. Vi a Madurai Meenakshi salir de la estatua. Yo estaba en la cola en algún lado y ella estaba en lo más profundo del santuario sanctorum. La vi caminar entre la gente y cuando estuvo lo suficientemente cerca de mí me preguntó qué era eso. Me presente y dije que Baba había enviado una invitación de una boda, para que la bendijera. Ella casualmente dijo, 'Bendeciré y enviaré Prasadam'. En ese momento, el sacerdote salió después de hacer la Pooja y me dio Kumkum y otros objetos sagrados. Tomé el prasadam para la pareja y regresé.
Swami nunca me dijo , que había que debía aclarar sobre algún obstáculo para la boda con alguna persona. Sin embargo, el día del matrimonio, casualmente le dijo a la novia, 'usted tiene el mismo dosham (obstáculo) que tenía Meenakshi'.
Para aquellos que no lo sepan, Madurai Meenakshi nació princesa. Ella es la encarnación de Parvathi. Ella tenía algún tipo de obstáculo, una obstrucción en su suerte debido a que no podía casarse a menos que sucediera algo en particular. Cuando sucedió esa cosa en particular, encontró a Sundareswarar (Shiva) y se casó con Él. El nakshatram (estrella) en el que nació Madurai Meenakshi, es el mismo nakshatram en que nació la hija de este devoto. Debido a esto, ella había contraído el mismo dosham que Madurai Meenakshi. Sin su gracia y consentimiento, el matrimonio no seria posible. Esto es lo que Swami le explicó a la novia muy brevemente. Pero no dijo que me había enviado a Madurai para hacer esto por ella. Él silenciosamente lo hizo y puso las cosas en marcha. Si hacemos algo por alguien, Dios mío, ¡todos deberían saber que lo hemos hecho nosotros! Él es tan silencioso en todo lo que hace.
La cantidad de dolor que Él toma para enmendarnos y moldearnos a cada uno de nosotros, y seguir haciendo las cosas con la mayor de su sabiduría, en nuestro mejor interés, es indescriptible. Sin embargo, debido a nuestra comprensión limitada, a menudo malentendemos lo que está diciendo y lo culpamos por lo que está haciendo y luego nos quejamos ante Swami, "No estás siendo justo conmigo, amable conmigo, bueno conmigo" y Él silenciosamente, lo que sea que le arrojemos, lo acepta y dice que bien, volveremos a ocuparnos de la situación más adelante. Muy pocas personas llegan con esta completa comprensión y entrega, completa sinceridad y humildad para con Él.
Simplemente me abruma que tengamos a alguien como Él en nuestras vidas. De lo contrario, habríamos sido simplemente animales, caminando sobre dos patas, hablando como seres humanos, comiendo y vistiéndonos como seres humanos. No hubiéramos progresado ni siquiera un poco. Y tanto dolor Él ha tomado para llevarnos a cada uno a Sí mismo. Él podría habernos dejado dondequiera que estuviéramos, pero no lo hizo.
Ayer, una niña que se uniría a un Colegio Médico vino por bendiciones. Él estaba hablando con ella cuando le dijo: "No es suficiente si me quieres a mí". También tengo que quererte '. No es suficiente que le roguemos a Swami que queremos estar con Él. También tiene que estar dispuesto a aceptarnos para llevarnos con Él. Para nosotros, ha sucedido en ambos sentidos. ¡Mira nuestra gran fortuna! Hay millones a los que les gustaría tener a Swami en sus vidas. Pero de alguna manera, por el momento, Él ha elegido a algunos de nosotros y nos ha mantenido tan cerca, nos ha dado algo de trabajo que hacer, nos dio algunas oportunidades para participar.
Todo el sueño puede desaparecer en un momento. Él puede hacerlo en muy poco tiempo, sin embargo, nos enseña esta gran lección de rendición, el escondite, un juego que Él juega con nosotros para enseñarnos muchas lecciones. Y lo revisa todo con tanta paciencia. Cualquier otro Maestro no habría tenido la paciencia para tratar con cabezas obstinadas como yo y algunos de nosotros. Pero Él tiene toda la paciencia, todo el amor, toda la bondad y la compasión.

‘It is not enough if you want Me. I also have to want you’.
Recently, Swami got two of his devotees’ children married. Suddenly, one day, Swami asked me to go to Madurai. So, I took a day off and flew to Madurai. Swami asked me to take the wedding invitation card and give it to the temple and tell to pray to the Mother, Madurai Meenakshi that She should bless this particular wedding and with Her grace it should happen well. I simply obeyed since I don’t understand much of what He keeps doing and at what level He works. I offered this card and prayed. I saw Madurai Meenakshi come out of the statue. I was in the queue somewhere and she was deep inside the sanctum sanctorum. I saw her walk right through the people and when she was close enough to me she asked me what was it? I submitted that Baba had sent the wedding card to get it blessed. She casually said, ‘I will bless and send Prasadam’. Just then the priest came out after performing the Pooja and gave Kumkum and other sacred items. I took the prasadam for the couple and returned.
Swami never went and proclaimed that some obstacle had to be cleared for the wedding to anyone. However on the day of the marriage, He casually told the bride, ‘you have the same dosham (obstacle) that Meenakshi had’.
For those who may not know, Madurai Meenakshi was born a princess. She is the incarnation of Parvathi. She had some kind of an obstacle, some obstruction in Her fortunes due to which she could not get married unless until, a particular thing happened. When that particular thing happened, She found Sundareswarar (Shiva) and married Him. The nakshatram (star) in which Madurai Meenakshi was born, in the same nakshatram this devotee’s girl was born too. Because of this, even she had contracted the same dosham as Madurai Meenakshi. Without Her grace and consent, the marriage was not possible. This is what Swami explained to the bride very briefly. But He did not go about tom-toming that He had sent me to Madurai to get this done for her. He silently did it and got the things going. If we do something for somebody, my God, everybody should know it’s done by us!! He is so silent in whatever He does.
The amount of pain He takes to mend each one of us, mould each one of us, and keep doing things in the greatest of His wisdom, in our best interest is indescribable. Yet, in our limited understanding we often misunderstand what He is saying and we blame Him for what He is doing and then we complain to Swami, ‘You are not being right to me, kind to me, nice to me’ and He silently, whatever we hurl at Him, accepts it and says alright, we will deal with the situation again later. Very few people come with this complete understanding and surrender, complete sincerity and humility to Him.
It just overwhelms me that we have someone like Him in our lives. Otherwise we would have been just animals, walking on two feet, talking like human beings, eating and dressing like human beings. We would not have progressed even a bit. And so much pain He has taken to bring each one of us to Himself. He could have left us wherever we were, but He didn’t.
Yesterday, a girl who was to join a Medical College came for blessings. He was talking to her when He told her, ‘It is not enough if you want Me. I also have to want you’. It’s not enough that we prayed Swami we want to be with You. He also had to be willing to accept us to keep us with Him. For us, it has happened both ways. See our great fortune! There are millions who would like to have Swami in their lives. But somehow for this moment, He has chosen a few of us and kept us so close, gave us some work to do, gave us some opportunities to participate in.
The whole dream can vanish in a moment. He can do that in no time, yet He teaches us this great lesson of surrender, hide and seek, a game that He plays with us to teach us many lessons. And He goes through everything so patiently. Any other Master would not have had the patience to deal with stubborn heads like me and some of us. But He has all the patience, all the love, all the kindness and compassion.
