Historia detrás de esta foto: La superación de los efectos kármicos.
SWAMI estaba hablando en el DHARMAKSHETHRA, el día 14 mayo de 1966. A una pregunta específica sobre la intervención divina en la superación de los efectos del Karma, Swami nos da un ejemplo para explicar el tema.
"Dios puede elegir cambiar o suavizar el destino de un hombre en algunas situaciones extremas. Él mismo, puede decidir, llegar el rescate, a las llamadas del devoto que se arrepiente sinceramente y se involucra en Sathkarmas.
O a veces Dios también puede hacer las cosas más fáciles, suaves, para que él devoto pase a través de los sufrimientos, que ha de sufrir como resultado de malos karmas pasados.
Mucho depende de los esfuerzos del devoto. "
Swami lo ilustra con un ejemplo:
"En un campo de verde, inmenso, una vaca está atada a una estaca, con una cuerda de unos 100 metros de largo. El destino de la vaca ha sido decidido.
Puede elegir a pastar en un área circular con un diámetro de 100 metros. En un acto insensato, si la vaca decidiera dar vueltas en redondo con mucha frecuencia, la longitud de la cuerda se reducir, y ni siquiera podrá disfrutar de la zona asignada para el pastoreo.
Por el contrario, si la vaca utiliza su propia fuerza para arrancar la estaca a la que está atado, puede llegar a un área mucho mayor sin ninguna limitación.
Por lo tanto hay muchas opciones disponibles para la vaca. La elección concreta de la opción, por la vaca y los efectos de dicha opción, se convierte en su destino.
Mediante el uso de su inteligencia y haciendo esfuerzos, puede superar el destino, o las limitaciones impuestas sobre ella. "
"Asimismo, el hombre también puede actuar sobre los efectos de la suerte destinada a él.
El pueden elegir y determinar vivir una vida pura, que ayudara a aceptar su destino, u optar por una vida fácil e impura.
Al llevar una vida espiritual, puede limpiar su Chitha, su intelecto. Él entonces dedicarse a la "Karma" Nishkama, actividades de Servicio, que va más allá de sus propios intereses y los beneficios más allá de él, o su familia. La recompensa de los buenas actividades se empezarán a acumular en su cuenta, que poco a poco, borrarán los efectos de los errores del pasado ".
"Si por el contrario, sigue el orgullo y el ego, el hombre se entrega a dushkarmas o malas acciones, que representa perder las oportunidades que dispone para llevar a cabo una purificación de su pensamiento, palabra y obra (Thrikarana Sudhi), y por lo tanto conseguir más suerte o gracia en su vida actual.
Esta es la lección que uno debe aprender. Siempre hay que involucrarse en los Satkarmas( acciones santas o puras), actividades de servicios y una vida útil a la humanidad en general, y luego siempre orar a Dios. En estos casos, Dios sin duda escuchará sus oraciones y mostrara compasión y premiara con su gracia misericordiosa al devoto, para mitigar o superar el destino de la llamada, a la que los seres humanos están unidos en la esclavitud ".

SWAMI WAS SPEAKING TO A JOUNLIST AT SATHYA DEEP, DHARMAKSHETHRA, on the 14th May 1966. To a specific question on the Divine intervention in overcoming Karma effects, Swami gives an example to prove a point.
“God may choose to influence or soften the destiny of a man in some extreme situations. He himself decides how far He can come to the rescue of the devoted calls of a man who sincerely repents and engages in Sathkarmas. Or sometimes God can also make things easier for him to pass through the sufferings, which he has to undergo as a result of past bad karmas. Much depends on the efforts of the incumbent.”
Swami illustrated this with an example:
“In a vast slush green field, a cow is tied to a peg, with a rope of about 100 meter long. The fate of the cow is now fixed. It can choose to graze in a circular area of 100-meter diameter. By a foolish act, if the cow chooses to go round, round very often, the length of the rope gets reduced, and it cannot even enjoy the allotted area of grazing. On the contrary, if the cow uses its own strength to uproot the very peg to which it is tied down; it can reach out a much larger area without any limitation. Thus many options are available for the cow. The cow’s specific choice of the option and the effects of such option becomes it fate. By using its intelligence and making efforts, it can overcome the so called fate, or the limitations enforced upon it.”
“Likewise, man can also over come the effects of the fate destined for him. He may either choose and determine to live a pure life which helps to retain what is allotted to him or opt for an easy and impure life, and further slip down. By leading a pure spiritual life, he can cleanse his chitha, his intellect. He will then engage himself in “Nishkama Karma” Seva activities, which will go beyond his self-interests and benefit people beyond him or his family. The rewards of those good acclivities will start accruing to his account, which will slowly erase the effects of past misdeeds”.
“If on the contrary, resulting from pride and ego, the man indulges in dushkarmas or bad deeds, he stands to loose the opportunities available to him to bring about a purification of his thought, word and deed. (Thrikarana Sudhi) and thereby getting over his destiny or fate in the present birth. This is the lesson one should learn. Always engage in ‘sath’ karmas, engage in service activities, live a life useful to the humanity at large, and then pray to Him. In such cases, God will definitely hear your prayers and will show compassion and reward you with His merciful Grace to mitigate or overcome the so called fate, to which the human beings are bound in bondage”.
