Un diálogo sobre la entrega con Swami, por B.Aravind.
Fue un momento en que todos estábamos teniendo una discusión acerca de la entrega. El debate habia sido provocado por un poema, escrito por un hermano. En el curso de la discusión , uno de mis compañeros relató una experiencia increíble , que trajo la discusión. Esto fue durante la Mahayagnam Ati Rudra en Chennai en enero de 2007, la cual Swami nos había honrado con su presencia física. Este amigo mío, a quien me refiero como LK, del séquito de Swami, fue elegido como disertante. Dejo el resto de la narración a él:
SOBRE LK.
Fue durante el Ati Rudra Maha Yagna en Chennai, que iba a dar una charla en la tarde del día siguiente en Thiruvanmiyur. La noche anterior, cuando estábamos cenando con Bhagwan, Swami preguntó: quién hablara?. Puesto que Swami había decidido el orden de los oradores de antemano, sabía que era mi turno y me presenté en consecuencia:
Swami: Yemi maatladutavu? (¿De qué vas a hablar?)
LK: Swami me gustaría hablar sobre''Swami como nuestro gurú ............''
Swami: ¿Cuál es el significado de gurú?
LK: En los textos sagrados se dice que en la palabra gurú, "Gu" significa Gunateeta (más allá de los atributos) y "Ru" significa Roopavarjita (más allá de la forma).
Swami: Alanti vallani yavarinena choosava? (¿Alguna vez te encontraste con un gurú?)
LK: (Con asombro y pavor señalo con las manos juntas hacia Swami) Swami Meeru! (Usted Swami!)
Swami: Kani naaku Roopam unde (Pero yo tengo una forma!), (Y por lo tanto se contradice Roopavarjita!)!
LK:. Swami Roopam undina lekapoyina, Meere na Guru (con o sin forma, sólo sé que tú eres mi gurú!)
Y luego Swami preguntó los detalles de mi charla. Al final sorprendentemente Swami dijo a todos los que nos rodeaban:
Naku telusu, me andara manusulu lo chaala 'doubts' unnayee !! E rozu annee 'clear' chestanu !! Adagandi !! (Lo sé, todos ustedes tienen muchas dudas en su mente, voy a borrar las dudas hoy. Pregunten !)
Era más que el maná del cielo, en verdad, era el mismo cielo! Cada uno eligió preguntar lo más profundo en sus corazones, y para mí fue: "¿Qué es la entrega? Cuando mi oportunidad llegó:
LK: Swami, Sharanaagati ante Yemi? (Swami, ¿cuál es el significado de la entrega?)
Swami: Sharanagati ante neeku Yemi ardhamu ayyinndo, mundu adi cheppu ( Primero dime lo que sabes o entiendes por entrega !).
LK: Swami, de lo poco que he leído y escuchado de los ancianos, es ofrecer todo a Dios !
Swami: Dios no quiere nada de ustedes! Solo si en cada momento recuerdan que: "Todo lo que está sucediendo es bueno para ustedes", entonces se han entregado a mí.
(Swami Continuo ...)
¿Usted sabe cómo conducir un coche?
LK: Sí Swami
¿Cuantas marcha hay en el coche?
LK: 4 Swami !
Swami: ¡Sí! Primera, segunda, tercera, la marcha más larga y una marcha atrás. Dime, ¿hay algún problema cuando el coche se queda en la primera marcha?
LK: No Swami!
Swami: En la segunda, o la tercera o la cuarta?
LK: (yo no era capaz de entender, pero nuestro Señor se estaba preparando para una respuesta maestra !) No Swami!
Swami: Entonces, ¿dónde está el problema?
LK: (Me encogí de hombros en mi ignorancia!)
Swami: El problema viene cuando hay un cambio de marchas! . Entonces, ¿qué hace cuando se cambia de marcha en un coche?
LK: Swami, se utiliza el embrague!
Swami: ¡Correcto! Cuando se utiliza el embrague, el cambio de marchas es suave! . Del mismo modo en la vida, hay 4 marchas: felicidad, tristeza, felicidad, tristeza. Al igual que en el coche, nuestras vidas también continúan si estamos en la felicidad o en el dolor, pero el problema surge sólo cuando hay un cambio o transición de la felicidad a la tristeza y viceversa. Por lo tanto para la vida también hay un embrague! . El embrague de la vida es el pensamiento de que, "Pase lo que pase es bueno para mí!".
Esto es lo que Krishna le dijo a Arjuna en el campo de batalla del Kurukshetra. ¿Sabes qué le dijo?
LK: (Asintió declararse en la ignorancia)
Swami: Sukha dikkha same krutwa laabhaa labho jayo jayaha........ (¡El que es ecuánime en la felicidad y tristeza, pérdida y beneficios, victorias y derrotas, es el que verdaderamente se ha entregado)
"Todo aquel que siga esto, yo le aseguro completa sensación de entrega hacia mí!"
(Ahora nos dio la lección. Pero Swami no sólo enseña la teoría, también da una experiencia práctica. Y la practica vino muy pronto ....)
Los trabajos del día siguiente resultaron ser catastróficos ya que había un problema con el sistema de audio en Thiruvammiyur! Swami estaba molesto al parecer, ya que no podían ser escuchados y yo también tuve mi parte de los "regaños"!
Cuando volvimos a Sundaram, Swami me miró con enojo y dijo: "Yemi baaga maatalad ledu!" (Usted no hablo bien!)
Mi corazón se hundió! . Yo no tenía fuerza para hacer frente a Swami ! Con el corazón oprimido, cuando me senté a cenar (el más cercano a Swami irónicamente), me miró con el ceño fruncido y le preguntó a uno de los devotos senior (señalándome), "E Abbayi yela matladedu?" (¿Cómo hablo este muchacho ! !). Olvidando lo que había sucedido hasta entonces, el devoto empezó a acumular elogios hacia mí! Cada palabra era como un rasguño en mi corazón sangrante y no fui capaz de levantar la cabeza!
Swami: (Haciendo caso omiso de las palabras del devoto) Yemi baaga maataladledu (!No hablo bien del todo!)
(Luego vino la sacudida más grande!) "Sharanaagati gurinchi okka Mukka kuda mataladaledu" (Ni siquiera dijo una palabra sobre la entrega).
Se refería a la conversación que tuvo lugar el día anterior!
A pesar de todo la tristeza, mi mente se rebeló. Yo estaba gritando en mi interior, "Swami esto es injusto! . Yo no iba a hablar sobre ese tema. Mi tema era el GURU ! ¿Por qué me haces esto ?"
Inmediatamente Swami dijo, "Yemi RA NEE Sharanagati?" (¿Cuál es tu entrega?).
Todo el ruido en la cabeza fue silenciado . Y pronto comprendí todo. Y así como yo entendí , una sonrisa parecía florecer en su rostro. Hay tanto amor.
Sentía claramente que no me había entregado y me dije a mí mismo que "lo que está sucediendo es bueno para mí", a pesar de venir de Dios mismo !
Yo estaba llorando! Fui a Swami y le dije : "Tappu ayyipoyindi Swami, kshaminchandi!" (Por favor, perdóname Swami por mi error!)
Inmediatamente, la sonrisa de Swami floreció y era tan amplia ........... que lo decía todo!

A dialogue on Surrender with Swami by B.Aravind.
It was a time when we were all having a discussion on surrender. The discussion had been sparked by a poem in the same name written by a brother. In the course of the sharing, one of my classmates recounted an amazing experience of his which brought finality to the discussion. This was during the Athi Rudra Mahayagnam at Chennai in January 2007, which Swami had Graced with His physical presence. This friend of mine, whom I shall refer to as LK, was also in Swami's retinue, chosen as a speaker. I leave the rest of the narration to him:
OVER TO LK.
It was during the Athi Rudra Maha Yagna at Chennai and I was to give a talk the next afternoon atThiruvanmiyur . The previous evening as we were having dinner with Bhagwan, Swami enquired as to who would be speaking. Since Swami had decided the order of the speakers beforehand, I knew it was my turn and presented myself accordingly:
Swami: Yemi maatladutavu ? (What will you speak ?)
LK : Swami I would speak on, ''Swami as our Guru............''
Swami: What is the meaning of Guru ?
LK : In the sacred texts it is stated that in the word GURU, 'Gu' stands for Gunateeta (beyond attributes) and 'Ru' stands for Roopavarjita (beyond form).
Swami: Alanti vallani yavarinena choosava ? ( Did you ever come across such a Guru ?)
LK: (In astonishment and awe I pointed my folded hands towards Swami) Swami meeru! (You Swami !!)
Swami: Kani naaku roopam unde !! (But I have a form !!), ( and thus contradicting Roopavarjita !)
LK: Swami roopam undina lekapoyina, meere na Guru. (With or without form, I know only you to be my Guru !!)
And then Swami asked the details of my talk. At the end surprisingly Swami said to all of us around :
Naku telusu, me andara manusulu lo chaala 'doubts' unnayee !! E rozu annee 'clear' chestanu !! Adagandi !!(I know, you all have a lot of doubts in your mind, I will clear those doubts today. Ask !)
It was not merely the manna from the heaven but verily the heaven itself !! Each one chose to ask that which was innermost in their hearts and for me it was, 'What is SURRENDER ?' When my chance came:
LK: Swami, Sharanaagati ante yemi? (Swami, what is the meaning of Surrender ?)
Swami: Sharanagati ante neeku yemi ardhamu ayyinndo, mundu adi cheppu. (First you tell me what you have understood of it !)
LK: Swami, of what little I have read and heard from elders, offering my everything to God is Surrender !!
Swami : GOD DOES NOT WANT ANYTHING FROM YOU SIR !! At every point in time if you remind yourself that, "Whatever is happening is good for me" then you have surrendered to me.

Do you know how to drive a car ?
LK: Yes Swami
How many gears are there in the car ?
LK: Swami 4 !!
Swami: Yes ! First, second, third and the top gear and also a reverse gear. Tell me, is there any problem when the car runs in the first gear ?
LK: No Swami !
Swami : In the second or third or the fourth ?
LK: (I was not able to understand, but our Lord was preparing for a Master answer !! ) No Swami!
Swami: Then where is the problem ?
LK: (I shrugged in ignorance !)
Swami: The problem comes when there is a change of gears !!! So what do you do when you change gears in a car ?
LK: Swami, we use a clutch !
Swami: Correct ! When you use the clutch, the change of gears is smooth !! Similarly in life, there are 4 gears: HAPPINESS, SORROW, HAPPINESS, SORROW. Just as in car, our lives too continue whether we are in happiness or in sorrow but the problem arises only when there is change or transition from happiness to sorrow and vice-versa. Thus for life too there is a clutch !! The clutch for life is the thought that, "Whatever happens is good for me !" This is what Krishna told Arjuna in the Kurukshetra battle field. Do you know what he said ?
LK: (Nodded pleading ignorance)
Swami: Sukha dikkha same krutwa laabhaa labho jayo jayaha........ (The one who is eqanimous in happiness-sorrow, profit-loss, victory-defeat, is the one who has truly surrendered !! )
"Whosoever, follows this, I assure him complete feeling of surrender towards me !!"
( Now that was the lesson taught. But Swami not only teaches the theory, He also gives a practical experience. And my lesson was coming very soon....)
The next day's proceedings turned out to be catastrophic as there was a problem with the PA system at Thiruvammiyur ! Swami was apparently upset as things could not be heard and I too had my share of the "scoldings" !!
When we came back to Sundaram, Swami looked at me angrily and said, "Yemi baaga maatalad ledu !!"(You didn't speak well at all !!)
My heart sank ! I was not having the strength to face Swami, that too during the entire dinner session ! With a sinking heart as I sat for dinner (closest to Swami ironically), he looked at me with a frown and asked one of the senior devotees (pointing at me), " E abbayi yela matladedu ?" (How did this boy speak !!) . Oblivious of what had happened until then, the devotee started heaping praises on me ! Every word was like a scratch on my bleeding heart and I was not able to lift my head !!
Swami: (Ignoring the words of the devotee) Yemi baaga maataladledu !! (Didn't speak well at all !!)
(Then came the biggest jolt !!) "Sharanaagati gurinchi okka mukka kuda mataladaledu!" (You didn't even speak a word about Surrender).
He was referring to the conversation that took place the previous day !!
In spite of all the dejection, my mind revolted. I was screaming within, "Swami this is unfair! I was not supposed to speak on that topic. My topic was GURU ! Why are you doing this to me?"
Immediately Swami said, "YEMI RA NEE SHARANAGATI ??" (What is your Surrender ?? ).
All the noise in the head was silenced.And I suddenly understood everything. And even as I understood, a smile seemed to blossom on His face. There was so much love.
I clearly felt that I had not surrendered and was unable to say to myself that ," Whatever is happening is good for me " in spite of it coming from God himself!
I was in tears ! I went to Swami and said, "Tappu ayyipoyindi Swami, kshaminchandi !" (Please forgive me for my mistake Swami !)
Immediately, Swami's smile flowered and was so broad...........that said it all !!
