P: ¿Hubo una posibilidad remota de que Karna se hubiera dado cuenta de quién es Krishna?
R: La verdad es que Karna sabía quién era Krishna. Duryodhana sabía quién era Krishna. Dhritarashtra sabía quién era Krishna. Bhishma, Drona, Kripacharya; todos los Kauravas sabían quién era Krishna. Y todos sabían que lo que Krishna estaba diciendo era lo correcto, lo que estaba haciendo era lo correcto.
Sin embargo, ¿por qué no lo siguieron? ¡Porque sus egos eran tan grandes! Sus apegos eran tan imposibles de superar, que no podían hacer lo correcto, sabiendo que estaban haciendo el mal, hicieron el mal.
La espiritualidad se trata de eso. Hacer la voluntad de Dios.
Swami llamó a alguien y le dijo: Haz esto por Mí. Y esa señora que ya se había decidido a hacer algo distinto, empezó a llorar diciendo que ya había decidido otra cosa. No puedo cambiarlo. Por favor, no me hagas cambiarlo. Swami dijo todo está bien, pero haz esto solo para Mí. No sigas lo que quieras hacer. Sólo sigue lo que quiero que hagas. Ella argumentó durante algún tiempo y al final se inclinó hacia los pies de Swami y dijo: " porque te amo más que a mí, lo haré por Ti!" pero Karna no pudo decir eso!!
Su ego, su apego a su pasado, fue tan abrumador para él, que no lo pudo haber superado incluso con todo el conocimiento. Krishna realizó todo el camino a la corte de los Kauravas para detener la guerra. Él no tenía que hacer eso. Pero Él lo hizo. Todos sabían que Krishna era Dios y que lo que estaba diciendo era correcto, pero su ego y sus lazos eran tan fuertes que no les permitían seguir a Krishna. Esa era la situación de Karna también.
Al final, fue una historia que se promulgó para enseñarnos una lección en nuestras vidas. Entonces, Karna tuvo que ser así. Cuando Krishna se mostró en el campo de batalla, el Vishwaroopa (forma universal), dejó en claro que nadie ha nacido, y que nadie muere; Él demostró que todo esto es una ilusión.
En esa historia del Mahabharata, Karna debía desempeñar un papel en el que tenía que enseñarnos una lección, que incluso si la vida no era justa para nosotros, incluso si hubiésemos tenido cientos de problemas en nuestras vidas, sin embargo, eso no nos da la licencia para ser injusto con los demás, estando de el lado equivocado del Dharma. Esa es la lección que hemos aprendido de la vida de Karna.
Pueden tener una gran personalidad con caridad y carácter. Pero al final, si no siguen los principios del Dharma, fallarán. Así es como es.
Podemos haber sido perjudicados por otros, pero eso no nos da el derecho a ser injustos con los demás.

‘Spirituality is all about doing what God’s will is.’
Q: Was there a remote chance that Karna would have realized who Krishna is?
A: Truth is that Karna knew who Krishna was. Duryodhana knew who Krishna was. Dhritarashtra knew who Krishna was. Bhishma, Drona, Kripacharya; all the Kauravas knew who Krishna was. And they all knew what Krishna was saying was right, what He was doing was right. Yet, why they did not follow? Because their egos were so big! Their attachments were so impossible for them to overcome that they could not have done right, knowing that they were doing wrong, they went wrong. Spirituality is all about that. It’s doing what God’s will is.
Swami called somebody and told ‘you do this for Me.’ And that lady who had already made up her mind to do something else started crying saying she had already decided upon something else. ‘I cannot change it. Please don’t make me change it.’ Swami told all that is fine but do this just for Me. Don’t follow what you want to do. Just follow what I want you to do. She argued for some time and at the end of it she bowed down to Swami’s feet and said, “Because I love You more than myself, I will do it for You!” But Karna could not say that!!
His ego, his attachment to his past was so overwhelming for him that he could not have overcome even with all the knowledge. Krishna went all the way to the court of Kauravas to stop a war. He never had to do that. But He did that. They all knew Krishna was God and what He was saying was right but their ego and attachments were so strong that wouldn’t allow them to follow Krishna. That was the plight of Karna too.
At the end of it, that was a story that was enacted to teach us a lesson in our lives. So, Karna was to be like that. When Krishna showed in the battlefield, the Vishwaroopa, He made it clear that nobody is being born, nobody is dying; He showed that all this is an illusion.
In that story of Mahabharata, Karna was to play a part where He had to teach us a lesson that even if life was unfair to us, even if we have had hundred troubles in our lives, yet it does not give us the license to be unfair to others, to be on the wrong side of Dharma. That is the lesson we have learnt from Karna’s life. You may be a great personality with charity and character. But at the end of it, if you fail to follow basics of Dharma, you will fail. That’s how it is. We might have been wronged by others, but that does not give us the right to wrong others.
