En un satsang que tuvo lugar en la presencia divina en Padova, Italia, el 24 de abril de 2017, un devoto solicita orientación sobre la movilización de más voluntarios para servicio, seva, que está llevando a cabo, desde hace 20 años.

Y esto es lo que dijo Swami:

Pregunta: Swami, Usted ha dicho que para cambiar la humanidad, debemos comenzar con las escuelas. Hemos estado haciendo este seva durante 20 años, llevando Tus valores humanos a las escuelas. Sin embargo, tenemos un gran problema, y es que no hay voluntarios. Tal vez estamos haciendo algo mal. ¿Podrías por favor guiarnos.?

Swami: Con una vela, puedes encender otra y, con esta vela, puedes encender otra más. Por lo tanto, aquellos a quienes ustedes han enseñado estos valores, habiéndose beneficiado, deben enseñarles a otros. Una vela sólo durará un tiempo, pero la luz puede llegar a ser eterna, si continúa iluminando a otros. Aquellos que han aprendido, se han beneficiado y embebido de estos valores a lo largo de los 20 años, deben ser la fuente de esta luz para los demás. Si realmente han hecho una diferencia en sus vidas, a través de estas enseñanzas, sin duda vendrán a ayudar.

Muchos de ellos pueden no ser conscientes de esta oportunidad de difundir la luz,  usted debe llega a estos, para hacerlos conscientes de ello. Aquellos que realmente han encontrado beneficio y mucho significado en lo que han aprendido, definitivamente estarán ahí para apoyar a los demás. En vez de mirar a su grupo, y a su gente que empezó el trabajo y lo continuo, busque a aquellos que se beneficiaron de él y están dispuestos a ayudar a otros. Reune a los que han venido a ti y dicen: "Nos hemos beneficiado; nos sentimos bien acerca de ello ". Alcanza a ellos. Esa es la manera correcta. Sus estudiantes se convertirán en sus maestros voluntarios. Debes ir a muchos lugares, no sólo aquí. Ellos han estado pensando en ello, pero todavía no lo han ejecutado. Sigue adelante y hazlo; ayudará.

And here is what Swami said:

Question: Swami, You have said that to change humanity, we must start with schools. We have been doing this seva for 20 years, bringing Your human values to schools. However, we have a big problem in that there are no volunteers. Perhaps we are doing something wrong. Could You please guide us forward?

Swami: With one candle, you can light another and, with another candle, you can light one more. Therefore, those whom you have taught these values, having benefited, must teach them to others. One candle will only last so long, but the light can become eternal if it continues to light others. Those who have learnt, benefited and imbibed these values over the 20 years must be the source of this light to others. If you have really made a difference to their lives, through these teachings, they will definitely come to help.

Many of them may not be aware of this opportunity of spreading the light, so reach out to those whom you can to make them aware of it. Those who have really found benefit and a lot of meaning in what they have learnt, will definitely be there to support others. Instead of just looking at your group and your people who started the work and continued it, look for those who benefited from it and are willing to help others. Recollect those who have come to you and said, “We have benefited; we feel good about it.” Reach out to them. That is the right way. Your students will become your teacher volunteers. You must go to many places, not just here. They have been thinking about it, but they have not executed it yet. Go ahead and do that; it will help.
