LEYENDA DE AMOR, EL LEGADO DE VIDA
- Un especial de 30 episodios documental de Radio Sai
20 de octubre 1940. Fue un día como hoy, hace setenta años, que Bhagavan Baba dio a conocer el
misterio que rodeaba su nacimiento, vida y misión. Declaró a la gente cercana, y ha través de ellos a toda
la humanidad, que de hecho es la Conciencia Suprema encarnada en una forma diminuta y encantadora.
"Ya no soy tu Sathya, soy Sai ... yo tengo mi trabajo, mis devotos me están llamando ...",.... anunció
abiertamente ese día.
Desde entonces, este depósito eterno de la energía y la empatía, esperanza y felicidad, consuelo y socorro,
de luz y amor, nos ha alimentado y nutrido, y aseguró que la pequeña semilla de bondad latente dentro de
cada individuo, se convierte en un gigantesco árbol de amor y serenidad.
Y al igual que un maestro perfecto, Él lo ha demostrado, por vivir ese principio, en todos los
momentos de su propia vida. El resultado es un legado que continuará luminiscente, para iluminar los
oscuros callejones de la conciencia colectiva de la humanidad, elevándola a un estado de sublimidad
absoluta para las generaciones venideras.
"Legenda de amor - Legados de vida" busca captar algunos aspectos destacados más importantes de esta
saga gloriosa de amor puro. Este documental de Radio Sai de 30 episodios, se inicia el 20 de octubre de
2010 en Radio Sai, para continuar diariamente hasta noviembre 19, 2010.
A continuación se presenta la adaptación del texto de esta serie de audio adornados con imágenes, clips de audio y video!

Episodio 4: La Declaración de Avatar
El artículo anterior de esta serie trajo las revelaciones que el joven Sathya dio a conocer a unos pocos afortunados. Que: "él era Sai Baba" , cuya gloria era conocido como Shirdi y que Él mismo se manifesto en el sanctasanctórum del templo de Virupaksha. También demostró que con la pérdida de un prendedor de oro, maya o la ilusión había desaparecido!
" Ya no soy Sathya. Yo soy Sai " Fue el 20 de octubre de 1940, el día después de que el grupo había regresado de Hampi, que Sathya se dirigió a la escuela, pero se dio la vuelta a mitad de camino y regresó a la casa de su hermano en Uravakonda.
Como tutor de su hermano menor, Seshama Raju, estaba tremendamente apenado y decepcionado. Pero, a partir de la retrospectiva, sabemos que este pequeño drama fue un momento de gran importancia para la humanidad. .
Sathya deja la escuela y marca un cambio trascendental en el orden cósmico, llamando a la gracia incalculable de que era destinatario.
Al llegar a casa, el joven Sathya arrojó sus libros de texto a un lado y anunció: " Ya no soy tu Sathya. Yo soy Sai . "
Mientras estaba de pie fuera de la casa, la cuñada echó un vistazo desde la ventana. ! Se sintió abrumada por el resplandor del halo alrededor de la cabeza del niño, y el joven Sathya gritó dirigiéndose a ella : " Me voy. Yo no le pertenezco. Maya se ha ido. Mis devotos me están llamando. Tengo mi trabajo. No puedo quedarme más tiempo . " Con estas palabras, salió de casa y nunca puso un pie en la casa otra vez.
A su hermano Seshama Raju le declaró que no estaba relacionado con él, y le dijo que renunciara a todo intento de curarlo.
Declaración del Avatar - Sathya Sai enseña su primer sermón.
El Inspector Especial de Consumo, el Sr. Anjaneluyu, era un ferviente devoto. Sathya se dirigió directamente al jardín de su residencia. En el patio de su casa había una roca, que se convirtió en el trono sobre el que Sai Baba se sentó y comenzó su trabajo de transformación de los corazones.
Sus presencia en el jardín y sus palabras se difundieron rápidamente, a consecuencia una multitud se reunió alrededor de la roca, algunos por culto, algunos se burlan de Èl, y muchos estrictamente por curiosidad.
Fue aquí que, el 20 de octubre de 1940, a los 14 años de edad, Sathya declaró que era un Avatar, y un nuevo capítulo importante fue escrito en la saga del Avatar Sai - que las generaciones ven como un punto de inflexión, en el destino colectivo de toda la humanidad, más aún, para todo el universo, ahora nos damos cuenta de la infinidad de su gloria.
Fue aquí que Él enseñó su primer sermón, una oración que es tan querida por millones de personas y tiene un mensaje eterno para todas las almas .
Maanasa bhajare gurucharanam,
Dustara bhava saagara tharanam
Estas palabras significan, " Medita Oh mente en los pies del Gurú, porque sólo Él puede llevarte a través del difícil mar del samsara (existencia en el mundo) .
" Samsara es el ciclo del nacimiento y la muerte, el proceso de llegar a existir como una criatura diferenciada, mortal y una y otra vez, hasta que uno es capaz de romper este ciclo y se funde de nuevo en la Fuente Infinita.
Así, desde el principio, Sathya Sai Baba nos ha prometido levantarnos y llegar a ser nuestro vehículo, para un paso seguro sobre las aguas de tormenta que amenazan con engullirnos.
Una famosa fotografía de la época muestra al joven muchacho Sai Baba, con una guirnalda y sobre una roca. En primer plano se ve una miniatura Shirdi Sai Baba, quien también tiene una guirnalda de flores y esta sentado en su actitud característica.
Misteriosamente, el santo de Shirdi sólo apareció en la foto. Las personas presentes en el momento que se tomó la foto, vieron una piedra en bruto, no ha Shirdi Sai.
Sai es de todos.
En medio del éxtasis y el aura percibida por los devotos, fue un momento difícil para quienes dependían de sus viejos lazos con el niño, ya sea amigo o familiar.
Cuando la Madre Ishvaramma llegó de Puttaparthi, su hijo de repente dijo: " Oh, maya ha llegado ! "y apuntó a ella. Sus padres le rogaron que volviera a casa, pero dijo: " ¿Quién pertenece a quién ? " Los estudiantes de su escuela se sorprendieron al haber perdido a su de oración.
Incluso a través de su oración en la escuela, el joven Sathya había estado enseñando la Unidad en la Diversidad:
"Los hindúes, budistas, jainistas, parsis, musulmanes y cristianos, ¡Vienen a tu trono de Oriente y Occidente, hacen la guirnalda de amor. Salve a ti, que unes a toda la humanidad! "
Un niño musulmán, Abdul Ghafoor, fue invitado a recitar la oración, en ausencia de Sathya, pero todo terminó en lagrimas, el cantante, los estudiantes y el profesores .
A causa de que Sathya dejo la escuela, todos, los profesores y los estudiantes acudieron en masa a donde Baba se había instalado. Sin embargo, con el fin de lograr un cambio en su comportamiento, Baba no reconoció a sus antiguos alumnos.
A pesar de la separación que demostró de su familia y compañeros de escuela, Baba accedió a dejar que sus padres lo llevaran a Puttaparthi - pero sólo después de que prometieran que no interferirán con la tarea, con sus devotos.
Baba comento acerca de esto:
Nadie sabía acerca de Sai Baba en esos días. Cuando regresé a Puttaparthi de Uravakonda después de mi anuncio, los aldeanos oyeron el nombre de "Sai Baba" por primera vez. Entonces pensaron que había adoptado un nombre musulmán. Pero, Sai Baba trasciende la religión y la casta. Dondequiera que miren, lo encontraran.
Bhagavan también ha dicho:
La perdida de el prendedor, el haber dejado la escuela para siempre y los padres que solicitan que vuelva a Puttaparthi, todas estas son razones que me impulsaron a irme lejos de Uravakonda en forma permanente. Desde entonces, mi gloria ha ido aumentando día a día. La gente de las aldeas vecinas comenzaron a venir a Puttaparthi en grandes cantidades, en carros de bueyes, para buscar soluciones a los diversos tipos de enfermedades mentales, incluidos los poseídos por demonios y fantasmas. A mí me miraban con mucha fe y decían: "Parece que los demonios y los fantasmas se irán si el niño les ordena hacerlo." Fieles a su fe, los "pacientes" fueron traídos a mi presencia, se sintieron aliviados de demonios y fantasmas. Como testigo de estos milagro, muchas personas creyeron que mis palabras eran verdad.
Por lo tanto, la misión de Bhagavan, para lograr la curación, había echado raíces.
Yashoda Sathya Sai - Subbamma
Después de su vuelta a Puttaparthi permaneció en casa de sus padres, luego en la casa del hermano de la madre Ishvaramma, y Sathya Sai finalmente se estableció en la casa de Subbamma. Ella era la esposa piadosa del funcionario local de la aldea, y desempeñó el papel de madre segunda de Sathya desde su infancia. La suya era una familia vegetariana y la Madre Ishvaramma siempre agradeció la preocupación de Subbamma por Sathya. Subbamma no tenía hijos propios, pero desde su nacimiento, Sathya era más querido que su vida misma. Su casa era lo suficientemente grande para acomodar el flujo cada vez mayor de devotos. Baba insistió en la alimentación de todos los que venia a verlo, enormes áreas para comedor se hicieron necesarias. Pronto su familia levantó un cobertizo y tiendas de campaña.
Cuando los alimentos cocinados no eran suficiente para alimentar a toda la multitud, un testigo ha dicho que Baba era notificado en silencio. A continuación, pedía dos cocos, los rompía y rociaba el agua sobre los montones de arroz y platos preparados. La comida santificada duraría hasta el anochecer.
Diferentes humores de Sathya Sai.
En diferentes oportunidades Sathya Sai Baba se retiraba , incluso a través de puertas cerradas, para gran consternación y preocupación de sus devotos. Lo buscaban aquí y allá, hasta que encontraban a su amado, en algún lugar en la soledad de la naturaleza: una cueva, un bosque, río, o en lo alto de una roca que dominaba el valle.
El biógrafo de Bhagavan, N. Kasturi, escribe: "A pesar de los estados de ánimo ocasionales y de la soledad que buscaba lejos de los devotos en las colinas y valles, Baba siempre fue un muchacho alegre , bromista y divertido." Por ejemplo, En una ocasión, en silencio se excusó de una procesión con carreta de bueyes, cuando una joven misteriosa apareció, llorando y pidiendo un traslado a el hospital para ver a su marido. Cuando la descubrió Sathya Sai se desapareció, comenzaron a buscarlo y él apareció , pero sólo cuando la joven desapareció.
Baba conocía el paradero de todas las personas perdidas, le pregunté, dónde había ido la joven. Para total sorpresa y shock, apareció ante ellos como la joven - un buen remate de su broma de mal gusto.
Sathya Sai era la personificación del amor y la misericordia.
A pesar de su alegría y milagros, había algunos que albergaba mala voluntad hacia el joven Sathya Sai Baba. Incluso acudían a medidas extremas para ponerlo a prueba.
Una mujer en el barrio le hizo señas para un desayuno (envenenado). Sabiendo lo que venía, Baba comió su letal vadas(alimento) con gusto. Su sangre se intoxico y el cuerpo se volvió azul. Cuando los vecinos afectados, sospechosos de las intenciones de la mujer, llegaron a la escena, Baba pidió tranquilamente un vaso de agua. Cuando tocó el vaso, el agua se convirtió en azul y Baba se recuperó .
El maestro de la acción correcta, Sathya Sai, negó que los miembros de la familia tomaran represalias.
Una noche, un grupo de hombres encerraron en una habitación a Baba y la prendieron fuego ! Bhagavan nos ha dicho que Él se rió a través de la ventana y aseguro a los niños afectados fuera y les exhorto a tener fe: Él les dijo: " No se preocupen ! Puesto que estamos protegiendo la Verdad y la Justicia, que a su vez, nos protegerá . " En unos pocos segundos, se produjo un aguacero, pero sólo sobre la estructura en llamas. Todo lo demás se mantuvo seco. La lluvia apagó el fuego. Una vez más, Sai Baba simplemente demostró un espíritu de perdón y misericordia para los hombres que habían cometido el hecho. Con lágrimas de remordimiento en sus ojos, los hombres llevaban a Baba arrepentidos, sobre sus hombros.
Subbamma presuntamente les dijo: "Ustedes consideran que este niño es una persona común del pueblo.No lo es. En verdad, Él es un rayo. "

LOVING LEGEND - LIVING LEGACIES.
October 20, 1940. It was on this day, seventy years ago, that Bhagavan Baba unveiled the mystery surrounding His birth, life and mission. He declared to the people around, and through them to the entire mankind, that He indeed is the Supreme Consciousness embodied in a diminutive and delightful form. “I am no longer your Sathya, I am Sai…I have My work; My devotees are calling Me…” He announced candidly on that day.
Ever since, this eternal reservoir of energy and empathy, hope and happiness, solace and succor, light and love, has nursed and nurtured, and ensured that the tiny seed of goodness latent within every individual grows into a gigantic tree of love and serenity. And like a perfect teacher, He has demonstrated this more by living that principle in every moment of His own life. The result is a luminescent legacy that will continue to illumine the dark alleys of humanity’s collective consciousness, elevating it to a state of absolute sublimity for generations to come.
“Loving Legend – Living Legacies” seeks to capture a few salient highlights of this glorious saga of Pure Love. This 30-episode radio documentary starts on October 20, 2010 on Radio Sai to continue daily till November 19, 2010.

Episode 4: The Avatar Declaration
The previous article in this series brought you the revelations the young Sathya unveiled to the lucky few. That He was Sai Baba, whose glory was known around Shirdi and the rest of Maharashtra if not Andhra Pradesh and that He Himself was installed in the sanctum sanctorum of the Temple of Virupaksha. He also demonstrated that with the loss of a gold collar pin,maya or illusion had gone!
“I am no longer Sathya. I am SAI”
It was on 20 October 1940, the day after the group had returned from Hampi, that Sathya headed off to school but turned around midway and returned to His brother’s house in Uravakonda.
As the caretaker of his younger brother, Seshama Raju was tremendously distressed and disappointed.
But, from hindsight, we know that this little drama was a moment of great import for mankind. Sathya’s turning back from school marks a momentous turning in the cosmic order, beckoning untold Grace of which we are the recipients.
On reaching home, young Sathya tossed His school books aside and announced: “I am no longer your Sathya. I am Sai.”
As He stood outside the house, the sister-in-law took a look from the window. She was overwhelmed by the splendour of the halo around the boy’s head and shrieked!
Addressing her, young Sathya said: “I am going. I don’t belong to you. Maya has gone. My devotees are calling Me. I have My Work. I cannot stay any longer.”
With those words, He left home and never set foot in the house again. To his brother Seshama Raju, He declared he was not related to him and instructed him to give up all attempts to cure Him.
Declaration of Avatarhood – Sathya Sai Teaches His First Sermon
The Excise Inspector, Mr. Anjaneluyu, was an ardent devotee. Sathya went straight to the garden of his residence. His yard held a rock, which became the foundation on which Sai Baba sat and began His Work of transforming hearts. Word quickly spread about Sathya’s presence in the garden and soon a crowd gathered around the rock, some to worship, a few to mock, and many strictly out of curiosity.
It was here on 20 October 1940 that the 14-year old Sathya declared His Avatarhood, and a significant new chapter was written into the saga of the Sai Avatar – one that generations would see as a turning point in the collective destiny of all humanity, nay for the entire universe, for we now realize the infinity of His glory. It was here that He taught his first sermon, a prayer that is so dear to millions and holds an eternal message for all aspiring souls.
Maanasa bhajare gurucharanam,
Dustara bhava saagara tharanam
These words mean, “Meditate O mind on the Feet of the Guru; for He alone can take you across the difficult sea of samsara (worldly existence).”
Samsara is the cycle of birth and death; the process of coming into existence as a differentiated, mortal creature over and over again until one is able to break this repeated rigmarole and merge back into the Infinite Source.
Thus from the beginning, Sathya Sai Baba promised to lift us up and become our vehicle for a safe passage above the stormy waters that threaten to engulf us.
A famous photograph from the period shows a garlanded young boy Sai Baba on the rock. In the foreground is a miniature Shirdi Sai Baba on whom too is a string of flowers while He is sitting in the characteristic pose. Mysteriously, the Saint of Shirdi appears only in the photo. People present at the time the picture was taken saw a crude rock, not Shirdi Sai.
Sai Belongs to Everyone
Amid the ecstasies and auras perceived by devotees, for whose who relied on their old ties with the boy, whether friend or family, it was a challenging time. When Mother Easwaramma arrived from Puttaparthi, her son suddenly said, “Oh, maya has come!” and pointed to her. His parents pleaded with Him to come home, but He said, “Who belongs to whom?”
The students of His school were stunned to have lost their beloved prayer leader. Even through His school prayer, young Sathya had been teaching Unity in Diversity, which, in part, intones:
“The Hindus, Buddhists, Jains, Parsees, Muslims and Christians,
Come to thy throne from East and West,
Making the garland of love.
Hail to Thee who unites all humanity!”
A Muslim boy, Abdul Ghafoor, was asked to sing the Prayer in Sathya’s absence, but it all ended with the singer, students and teachers in tears. Come to the throne they did when the school was dismissed for the day, and all the teachers and students flocked to where Baba was staying. But in order to bring about a change in their behaviour, Baba did not acknowledge His former students.
Despite the new found detachment He showed for His family and school mates, Baba consented to letting His parents take Him to Puttaparthi - but only after they promised not to interfere with His task of meeting devotees.
Bhagavan Himself says this about that period:
Nobody knew about Sai Baba in those days. When I returned to Puttaparthi from Uravakonda after My annunciation, the villagers heard the name ‘Sai Baba’ for the first time. They then thought that I had taken a Muslim name. But, Sai Baba transcends religion and caste. Wherever you see, there you will find Him.
Bhagavan has also said:
The dropping of the collar pin, leaving the school forever and the parents requesting Me to come back to Puttaparthi—these are all reasons that prompted Me to come away from Uravakonda permanently. Since then, My glory has been increasing day by day. People from neighbouring villages started coming to Puttaparthi in large numbers in bullock carts to seek remedies for various types of mental diseases, including those possessed by devils and ghosts. They regarded Me with great faith and would say, ‘It seems the devils and ghosts would leave if the boy orders them so.’ True to their faith, the moment such ‘patients’ were brought into My presence, they were relieved of devils and ghosts. On witnessing this miracle, several people believed My words to be true.
Thus, Bhagavan’s lifelong mission to bring about healing had taken root.
Sathya Sai’s Yashoda - Subbamma
After staying first in His parents’ house and then in the home of Mother Easwaramma’s brother, Sathya Sai eventually settled at the house of Subbamma. She was the pious wife of the local village official, and played the role of Sathya’s surrogate mother since His childhood. Hers was a vegetarian household and Mother Easwaramma always appreciated Subbamma’s concern for Sathya.
Subbamma had no children of her own but since His birth, Sathya was dearer to her than life itself. Her home was large enough to accommodate the ever-growing flood of devotees. Since Baba insisted on feeding all who came to see Him, huge dining areas became necessary. Soon her family raised a shed and tent. Whenever the food cooked was not enough to feed the whole crowd, an eyewitness has said that Baba would be quietly notified. He would then ask for two coconuts, break them and sprinkle the water on the heaps of rice and vessels of prepared dishes. The food thus sanctified would last until dusk.
Different Shades of Sathya Sai
At times Baba would wander off, even through locked doors, much to the consternation and worry of His devotees. They would search hither and yon until they found their Belovéd in some place of nature’s solitude: a cave, a grove, a riverbank, or perched atop a rock overlooking the valley.
Bhagavan’s biographer, N. Kasturi, writes, “In spite of the occasional moods of solitude that took Baba away from the devotees into the hills and dales, Baba was always a sprightly joyous Boy, full of practical jokes and fun.”
For instance, on one occasion He quietly excused Himself from a bullock cart procession when a mysterious young woman appeared to the assemblage, weeping and asking for a lift to the hospital to see her husband. When it was discovered Sathya Sai was lost, a search ensued and He appeared, but only when the young woman went missing. Since Baba knew the whereabouts of every lost person, they asked Him where the young woman had gone. To their utter surprise and shock, He appeared before them as the young woman - quite a punch line to His practical joke!
Sathya Sai – The Epitome of Love and Mercy
In spite of His merriment and miracles, there were some who harboured ill will towards the young Sathya Sai Baba. They even went to extreme measures to test Him.
One woman in the neighbourhood beckoned Him away from Subbamma for a breakfast of poisoned food. Knowing what was coming, Baba ate her lethal vadas with relish. His blood became toxic and body turned blue. When concerned neighbours, suspicious of the woman’s intentions, arrived on the scene, Baba calmly asked for a glass of water. When He touched the tumbler, the water became blue and Baba recovered. Ever a teacher of right action, Sathya Sai refused to let the family members retaliate.
One night, a group of men locked Baba’s room from the outside and set it ablaze! Bhagavan has told us He laughed through the window assuring the concerned children outside and exhorting them to have faith:
He told them: “Don’t worry! Since we are protecting Truth and Righteousness, they will in turn protect us.”
In a few seconds, there was a downpour but only on the burning structure. All else remained dry. The rain put out the fire. Once again, Sai Baba simply demonstrated a spirit of forgiveness and mercy to the men who had committed the deed. With tears of remorse in their eyes, the repentant men carried the young Baba on their shoulders.
Subbamma reportedly said to them: “You consider this boy to be an ordinary village urchin. He is not. In truth, He is a Thunderbolt.”
