Bangalore: Luchas por los derechos de las mujeres que padecen el VIH, reunion a cientos de madres para poner fin a una guerra civil, respeto al medio ambiente como un préstamo de generaciones futuras. Estas y más historias de cómo la humanidad cobra vida a través de acciones simples.

Inspirando a millones a dar lo mejor de sí mismas, nueve mujeres fueron reconocidas por su trabajo humanitario en el segundo Premio Sri Sathya Sai a la Excelencia Humana, que tuvo lugar en Sri Sathya Sai Grama, Muddenahalli, cerca de Bangalore, el jueves.

El premio destacó la contribución de las mujeres en siete categorías. Organizado por la Fundación Sri Sathya Sai Loka Seva, la ceremonia también marcó el 92 aniversario del nacimiento de Sathya Sai Baba. Fomentar valores de amor, compasión, generosidad y respeto por la humanidad; promover la paz y la no violencia, el respeto por la religión y la cultura; el avance de las secciones marginadas de la sociedad y la construcción de valores humanos en la generación más joven fueron los factores decisivos.

Hablando en nombre del comité organizador de los premios, Mallika Srinivasan, presidenta y directora ejecutiva de Tractors and Farm Equipment Limited, dijo: "Estas mujeres ejemplares son poderosas luces de esperanza para el mundo y para todas las mujeres".

Bengaluru: Fighting for the rights of women suffering from HIV, rallying hundreds of mothers to put an end to a civil war, respecting the environment as being a loan from future generations – these and more were stories of how humanity comes alive through simple actions.

Inspiring millions to do their best, nine women were recognised for their humanitarian work at the 2nd Sri Sathya Sai Award for Human Excellence, held at Sri Sathya Sai Grama, Muddenahalli, near Bengaluru, on Thursday.

The award highlighted the contribution of women across seven categories. Hosted by the Sri Sathya Sai Loka Seva Trust, the ceremony also marked the 92nd birth anniversary of Sathya Sai Baba. Fostering values of love, compassion, generosity and respect for humanity; promoting peace and non-violence, respect for religion and culture; advancement of the marginalized sections of the society and building human values in the younger generation were the deciding factors.

Speaking on behalf of the awards’ organising committee, Mallika Srinivasan, chairman and CEO of Tractors and Farm Equipment Limited said, “These exemplary women are powerful beacons of hope for the world and for all women.”

Sports is the latest category added to the awards this year. The awardees were identified by a 14 member jury of personalities from various fields. They were Prof J S Rajput, Gururaj Karajagi, Dr J Shashidhara Prasad, Ajay Mathur, Ravi Singh, Dr MS Valiathan, Padma Subrahmanyam, Pt Shiv Kumar Sharma, Gulshaa Begum, Samuel K Samuel, Swami Nikhileswarananda, Sajeeda Begum, Prof K Mathangi Ramakrishnan and Sunil Gavaskar.

Leaving her life in the US, Sakena Yacoobi returned to war-torn Afghanistan in the 1990s to uplift 7.5 million refugees with education. She started secret classes for girls despite the Taliban threat. The Afghan Institute of Learning, which she started, has trained over 13 million people.

Her home is open to all, irrespective of caste or religion. Maher houses 860-odd children and over 320 destitute women and tries to rehabilitate them.

Clad in a sari, sword in hand, 74-year-old Meenakshi Raghavan is a force to reckon with in the Kalaripayattu arena. For decades now, she has kept the Kalari tradition going, training hundreds of young girls at her academy in Kozhikode. Meenakshi says the martial art has been a route to self-discovery.

En uno de las Satsangs celebrados en la presencia divina en Australia, el 23 de septiembre de 2015. Un devoto preguntó ¿cómo se puede perdonar y amarse a uno mismo.?

Y esto es lo que dijo Swami:

PREGUNTA: Gracias Swami por Su sabiduría divina. Tengo una pregunta sobre el perdón. Los tiempos en que, tal vez, he hecho algo malo, puedo ser muy duro conmigo mismo. Teniendo en cuenta que estamos obligados a caer a veces, ¿podría asesorar sobre cómo perdonarnos y amarnos?

SWAMI: Esto también es muy importante. Perdonar a otros es claramente más fácil, pero perdonarse a uno mismo es mucho más difícil. Verás, de niño en la escuela primaria, pudiste haber cometido algunos errores; pudiste no haber sido capaz de sumar dos más dos y obtener cuatro, porque simplemente estabas aprendiendo. Como resultado, pudiste haber obtenido malas calificaciones en la escuela primaria porque no hiciste tu aritmética de manera apropiada. Después al crecer, si miraras atrás a los días de tu escuela primaria, y fueras incapaz de perdonarte a ti mismo por no haber podido sumar dos más dos y obtener cuatro, ¿no sería una tontería? En ese momento, en esas circunstancias, en esas situaciones, podía suceder; y sí, si ocurrió un error, que así sea. Ahora has crecido y sabes que has cometido equivocaciones, debido al momento, lugar y circunstancias que prevalecieron en ese entonces. No puedes llamarte tonto ahora porque cometiste un error en tu escuela primaria. No puedes continuar condenándote a ti mismo por aquella equivocación que cometiste hace un tiempo. Puedes hacer muchas cosas más ahora de acuerdo a tu edad y tu educación. Lo que ha sucedido en el pasado, debido a las situaciones y circunstancias prevalecientes en ese momento, no pueden definir tu vida entera.

Yo siempre digo: “El pasado es pasado, olvida el pasado”. Si sabes que has cometido un error, ahora tienes una oportunidad de corregirlo y evitar hacerlo otra vez. Muchas personas ni siquiera saben que han cometido un error, y continúan viviendo felizmente en la ignorancia. Es como si te subieras al colectivo equivocado y te quedaras dormido, y no te dieras cuenta de adonde estás yendo; simplemente eres feliz de que el colectivo se está moviendo, pero finalmente, terminas en el lugar equivocado y es muy tarde para regresar. Al menos te has dado cuenta de que te encuentras en el colectivo equivocado, de que no eras consciente; te bajas, tomas el colectivo correcto y continúas con tu viaje.

Lo que está perdido no puede recuperarse, pero todavía tienes mucho más que puede ser rescatado. Mira lo que tienes, no lo que has perdido. El pasado es pasado, olvida el pasado. El presente es omnipresente, cualquier cosa que realices ahora definirá tu futuro. Por lo tanto, sepan que Dios ama a todos, y como una amorosa Madre y Padre, Él los perdonará si verdaderamente se arrepienten de corazón. 

Ya que Dios está dispuesto a perdonarlos, ¿por qué no deberían perdonarse a sí mismos? Agradezcan a Dios por recordarles ahora que cometieron un error, y por dejarles saber que pueden corregirlo y no repetirlo nuevamente; busquen la ayuda de Dios y sigan adelante. Ustedes no son diferentes de Dios. Estas son cosas que solamente aprenden durante el crecimiento.

Un error no es un error si no se repite. Por eso, simplemente deben perdonarse a sí mismos por haber hecho algo mal. 

No den vueltas en el pasado; no pueden mirar hacia atrás y caminar hacia adelante. Tienen que mirar hacia adelante y caminar hacia adelante. 

Por lo tanto, olvídense del pasado siempre y cuando hayan aprendido la lección, perdonen a todos y a sí mismos y continúen avanzando, ese es el camino correcto. 

¿Quién en este salón no ha cometido nunca una equivocación? ¿Quién ha sido perfecto desde el día uno? Nadie; todos aprendieron y siguieron adelante. No se concentren en lo negativo. La negatividad es muy peligrosa. Si los atrapa, aspirará toda su energía y entusiasmo y los dejará muy débiles. Por eso, tengan pensamientos positivos tal como “Yo soy Dios”. Pensar que ustedes son un ser humano es un error; piensen que son Dios, que son Divinos, y vivan en consecuencia y sus errores no se repetirán.

When God is ready to forgive you, why should you not forgive yourself?

In one of the satsangs held in the divine presence at Australia, on 23 September, 2015. A devotee asked how can one forgive and love oneself.

And here is what Swami said:

QUESTION: Thank You so much Swami for Your divine wisdom. I have a question about forgiveness. The times when, maybe, I have done something wrong, I can be very hard on myself. Considering that we are bound to fall sometimes, could You please advise on how to forgive and love ourselves on the journey?

SWAMI: This is also very important. Forgiving others, is, clearly easier, but forgiving oneself is far more difficult. You see, as a child in primary school, you may have made some silly mistakes; you may not have been able to add up two and two to make four because you were just learning. As a result, you might have got bad marks in the primary school because you did not do your arithmetic properly. After growing up, if you looked back to your primary school days and are unable to forgive yourself for not being able to add two and two to make four, isn’t it foolishness? At that time, in those circumstances, in such situations, it could happen -- and yes, if it was a mistake, so be it. Now you have grown and you know that you have made mistakes, owing to the time, place and circumstances that were prevailing then. You can’t call yourself a fool now, because you made a mistake in your primary school. You can’t go on condemning yourself for that one mistake which you made sometime ago. You are able to do many more things now according to your age and your education. What has happened in the past, due to the situations and circumstances prevailing then, cannot define your entire life. 

I always say, “Past is past, forget the past.” If you know that you have made a mistake, you now have an opportunity to correct it and avoid making it again. Many people don’t even know that they are making a mistake, and go on living blissfully in ignorance. It is as if you get on the wrong bus and nod off, and don’t realize where you are going -- you are just happy that the bus is moving but, ultimately, you end up in the wrong place and it’s too late to go back. At least you have realized that you are on the wrong bus, that you were not aware, you step off, take the right bus and move on with your journey. What is lost cannot be recovered, but you still have so much more which can be saved. Look at what you have, not what you have lost. Past is past, forget the past. Present is omnipresent, whatever you do now will define your future. Therefore, know that God loves you all and, like a loving Mother and Father, He will forgive you if you truly repent from your heart. When God is ready to forgive you, why should you not forgive yourself? Thank God for reminding you now that you made a mistake and letting you know that you can correct it and not repeat it again -- seek God’s help and move on. You are no different from God. These are things that you only learn as you grow. 

A mistake is not a mistake, if it is not repeated. Therefore, you should simply forgive yourself for having done wrong. Don’t brood over the past; you cannot look backwards and walk forwards. You have to look forward and walk forward. Therefore, forget about the past as long as you have learned your lesson, forgive everyone and yourself and continue to move forward; that is the right way. Who in this hall has never made a mistake? Who has been perfect from day one? No one; everybody learned and moved forward. Don’t dwell on negativity. Negativity is very dangerous. If it grabs you, it will suck away all your energy and enthusiasm and render you very weak. Therefore, dwell on positive thoughts, such as, ‘I am God.’ Thinking that you are a human being is a mistake -- think that you are God, you are Divine, and live accordingly and your mistakes won’t be repeated.

Tuvimos una reunión dos días atrás, de todos los funcionarios de todos los Fideicomisos y Fundaciones en la India y en el extranjero en más de 30 países, que fueron fundadas en los últimos cuatro o cinco años por Bhagavan. 

Entre las doce fundaciones de la India, sólo dos de ellas existían cuando Swami estaba en la forma física: Sri Sathya Sai Loka Seva Trust y Sri Sathya Sai Health & Education Trust. 

Los otros diez Fideicomisos y Fundaciones han sido fundados por Él en los últimos cinco años. En todo el mundo hay 18 fundaciones, en 18 países diferentes que ya están funcionando, ofreciendo un gran servicio a la humanidad. 

Y hay 12 grupos de servicio en los otros 12 países. 

Cualquier servicio que haga Swami es absolutamente gratuito sin distinción de nacionalidad, religión, casta o credo. Sería muy tonto por mi parte evaluar el servicio prestado por estos Fideicomisos y Fundaciones bajo la guía directa de Bhagavan en los últimos cinco años en términos de dinero. 

Pero para resaltar la magnitud del trabajo, me gustaría decir que las instituciones fundaron, por ejemplo en la India, 14 nuevos campus educativos y dos hospitales de Súper Especialidades en Chhattisgarh y el otro cerca de Delhi en Baghola y el Annapoorna Breakfast Seva - Desayuno escolar.. alimentando a 100.000 niños de escuelas rurales del gobierno  todos los días. Y muchos más servicios. 

El 26 de noviembre de 2017, tenemos el Bhoomi Pooja para otro Centro de Cuidados Cardíacos Pediátricos en Mumbai. Dos hospitales en el extranjero que ya han surgido en Nigeria y Sri Lanka y el tercero en Fiji, y muchas otras actividades en conjunto, nos costarían Rs 1000 Crores o 160 millones de dólares. Esa es la magnitud del trabajo. 

Sé que es muy tonto de mi parte simplemente evaluar en forma de dinero. El trabajo desinteresado hecho no puede ser evaluado en absoluto. Hoy, somos muy afortunados, Swami está con nosotros y nos está guiando.

The magnitude of work that is taking place in the last five years under the direct Divine guidance of Bhagawan

We had a meeting two days back of all the functionaries of all the Trusts and Foundations in India and abroad in over 30 countries which was founded in the last four or five years by Bhagawan. Among the twelve foundations in India, only two of them existed when Swami was in the physical form, Sri Sathya Sai Loka Seva Trust and Sri Sathya Sai Health & Education Trust. The other ten Trusts and Foundations have been founded by Him in the last five years. All over the world there are 18 Foundations in 18 different countries which are already functioning, rendering yeoman service to mankind. There are 12 service groups in the other 12 countries. Whatever service Swami renders is absolutely free of cost with no distinction of nationality, religion, caste or creed. It will be very silly on my part to evaluate the service done by these Trusts and Foundations under the direct guidance of Bhagawan in the last five years in terms of money. But just to bring out the magnitude of the work, I would like to say that the institutions founded, for example in India, 14 new educational campuses and the two super specialty hospitals in Chhattisgarh and the other near Delhi in Baghola and the Annapoorna Breakfast Seva feeding 100000 children from rural govt schools everyday. And many more services. On November 26, 2017, we have the Bhoomi Pooja for another Center for Pediatric Cardiac Care in Mumbai. Two overseas hospitals which have already come up in Nigeria and Sri Lanka and the third coming up in Fiji, and many other activities putting together, would cost us Rs 1000 Crores or 160 million dollars. That is the magnitude of the work. I do know that it is very silly on my part to just evaluate in the form of money. Selfless work done cannot be evaluated at all. Today, we are very fortunate, Swami is with us and is guiding us.

Como parte del maravilloso sistema educativo integral, un nuevo aspecto que está siendo introducido que son laboratorios de computadoras móviles en colaboración con hewlett-Packard. Han dado a Sri Sathya Sai loka grupo de instituciones un laboratorio de computadoras móvil de 20 asientos. En lugar de invertir en un laboratorio de computación completo en todos los campus, este autobús va a ir a varios campus y nuestros hijos estarán plenamente integrados en el mundo actual de la educación informática.

As part of the wonderful integral education system, a new aspect that is being introduced which is Mobile Computer Labs in collaboration with Hewlett-Packard. They have given to Sri Sathya Sai Loka Seva Group of Institutions a 20-seater mobile computer lab. Instead of investing in a full fledged computer lab in every campus, this bus will be going around to various campuses and our children will be full integrated into today's world of computer education.

Swami nos enseñó que debemos realizar actos de valor y desarrollar la capacidad de amar en este mundo. Digo esto porque mientras estoy parado aquí, mi corazón y mi ser se dirigen al único indio que ahora se encuentra de pie en la parte del mundo más devastada en la actualidad, en la porción más traumática del planeta, quien es el único Ministro indio en este momento que levantó su mano para ir y trabajar con los niños huérfanos y tristemente diagnosticados con una afección cardíaca congénita. Él es el único cirujano que viene de un hospital de Swami, del gobierno indio y de nuestra gran patria, quien demostró lo que es vivir una vida con actos valerosos y la capacidad de amar. Mientras estamos aquí sentados, él se encuentra haciendo frente y soportando tormentas que giran alrededor suyo, operando cerca de cincuenta niños con el equipo internacional en lo que es un lugar que no puede ser divulgado. Swami es el futuro de este mundo. Swami está incitando a las personas con una misión, visión y pasión que la humanidad, nuestro país y nuestro Primer Ministro se sentirán orgullosos de ser testigos. No existe poder alguno que sea capaz de subestimar el poder de la Voluntad Divina. Cuando la Voluntad Divina se une a la determinación humana, la cual es especial, cuando la infinidad ingresa en el mismo latido de corazón de cada ser, hay un milagro esperando por suceder. Mucho está esperando por suceder, mientras el mundo marcha hacia el progreso, estén seguros de que la Bandera Sai estará volando alto porque esta Ama a todos y Sirve a todos.

I am saying this because as I stand here my heart and being goes out to the only Indian who is now standing in the most ravaged part of the world today, in the most traumatic part of our planet, who is the only Indian Minister at this point in time who put his hand up to come and work on children who are orphaned but sadly diagnosed with congenital heart disease. He is the only surgeon coming from Swami's hospital, from the Indian Govt and from our great motherland who showed what it is to live a life with courageous act and ability to love. As we sit here, he is braving the weathering storms that go around him operating on about 50 children with global team in what is a place which cannot be divulged.

Swami is the future of this world. Swami is spurring people with a mission, vision and a passion that humanity and our country and our PM will be proud to witness. No power can underestimate the power of Divine Will. When the Divine Will meets human purpose which is singular, when infinity comes into the very heartbeat of every being, there is a miracle waiting to happen. Much is waiting to happen, while the world marches towards progress, be sure the Sai Flag will be flying high because it Loves All and Serves All.

¿Qué espera Swami de nosotros?

¿Qué espera Swami de nosotros? ¿Dónde encajamos, en todo? Estuvimos con Swami, estamos con Swami y probablemente continuaremos con Swami. 

Pero estar con Swami, ¿significa que es todo y el final de todo? Hay algo que tenemos que hacer. Solo por estar en Su presencia, ¿eso es todo? ¿O hay algún esfuerzo o anhelo sincero que también debemos desarrollar? 

Una vez le pregunté a Swami: "Desde que estamos contigo, la autorrealización será un hecho, ¿no? Porque estar contigo. ¡Esto es lo más elevado! "

Entonces Swami dijo:" Una serpiente está alrededor del cuello de Shiva, hay una rata a los pies de Ganesha, ¿se han realizado a sí mismos? 

Hacer mi trabajo es Seva. Eso te preparará para hacer Sadhana. Cuando haces Seva, piensas en los demás y te vuelves desinteresado y más puro. What does Swami expect from us?

What does Swami expect from us? Where do we fit into, in the whole thing? We were with Swami, are with Swami and probably will continue to be with Swami. But being with Swami, does it mean it is the be all, and end all of everything? There is something that we got to do. Just by being in His presence, is everything taken care of? Or is there some effort or a sincere yearning that we must also develop? Once I asked Swami, “Since we are with You, self-realisation is taken care of isn’t it? Because we are with You. This is the highest!” Then Swami said, “A snake is around Shiva’s neck, there is a rat under Ganesha’s feet, are they self-realised? Doing My work is Seva. That will prepare you to do Sadhana. When you do Seva, you think of others and become selfless and purer. You will become a fertile bed to sow the seed of Self-Realisation. That’s when the tree will grow. Seva helps you to till the soil, to prepare you to receive what He has come to give.”

Few years ago, I asked Him “Please grant me Self-Realisation.” Then He said, “To YOU (of all the people)?! If I pass a very high voltage current through a low capacity wire, it will burn the wire. You will get destroyed. You can not bear it for a moment. You are not ready.”

I thought I must be ready, because I am able to see Him and experience what most of the people are not able to experience, isn’t it? He said, “Seva is the preparation of our beings to develop that ability or deservedness to handle Self-realisation when it comes to you.” That made me understand things in right perspective!

Nuestros presidentes de varios campus me dicen que los niños son tan pobres que no saben qué es la leche. Mi corazón se derritió al escuchar todo eso. No es nuestro trabajo solo escuchar estas cosas y guardar silencio. Deberíamos estar determinados en la medida de lo posible y ayudar a los pobres.

LAUNCH OF LATE MADIYAL NARAYAN BHAT SCHOLARSHIP SCHEME.

Today, I would like to share with you a good news. I keep telling Narasimha Murthy every time, we should admit into our institutions mostly the poor and the downtrodden and give them free education. To grant what the poor lack and relieve them from their suffering is what I love most. Narasimha Murthy came and told me with humility that we are granting free education in our schools and colleges but we do charge some hostel fee for their food. This deprives quite a number of poor and downtrodden to getting admitted into our institutions. Our chairmen of various campuses tell me that children are so poor, they don't know what is milk! My heart melted hearing all that. It is not our job to just listen to these things and keep quiet. We should be determined to the extent possible and help the poor. Today I am instituting a scholarship fund in the name of Late Madiyal Narayan Bhat and admit the poorest of the poor and provide them apart from free education, free food, free clothing and everything absolutely free. The parents need not have to spend a single paisa on their children. Because of consideration of money, no child should be deprived of opportunity for education. This is Swami's Birthday gift to the world and we will start this from today!

completamente dedicado al cuidado cardíaco pediátrico, junto con el programa de capacitación profesional, y será gratuito”.

“Es una buena noticia y todo lo bueno debe compartirse de inmediato. Lo malo debe ser pospuesto. En una de los Satsangs celebrados en la presencia divina en Australia, el 24 de septiembre de 2015. Un joven preguntó a Swami acerca de las oportunidades que uno recibe, que no son parte de la misión de Sai.

Y esto es lo que dijo Swami:

PREGUNTA: Swami, con respecto a las oportunidades que nos llegan, que no están bajo la bandera de Sai, ¿podrías por favor aclararnos qué debemos hacer?

QUESTION: Swami, what about opportunities that come that are not under the Sai banner. Can you please enlighten us on what we should do?

SWAMI: What is Sai banner? (laughter) Do you have a Sai flag, like an India flag, or an Australia flag? (laughter) Everything is Sai. What is not Sai? Everybody is Sai’s. So everything belongs to Sai. You should not lose an opportunity to serve, wherever it comes to you. In fact, you should do it with all your strength and heart, so that people say, “This person seems to be very different from the others.

What makes him so different?” SAI, See Always Inside. If you keep looking inside yourself, you will always find Sai within. If you look outside, you will not find Him. You must search for the thing where it is, not in some other place. It is like a foolish man who puts his spectacles on his head and looks for them everywhere else, when they are right on his head. God is right within you and everything belongs to God, so there is no distinction. If you have an opportunity, go and serve anywhere.

“Represento a cuatro mil personas de mi equipo mientras hablo ahora.Trabajamos sólo por una causa que comenzó hace ocho años con las bendiciones de Baba. Nuestro objetivo es emplear, capacitar, habilitar y empoderar a la juventud rural. Tenemos 16 centros actualmente en ocho estados y estamos creciendo, por la gracia de Swami. Es increíble cuando sentimos Su gracia. Quiero compartir algo que hablará sobre ella. Hace tres meses, yo y algunos de mis colegas asistimos al evento Annapoorna (Servicio de Desayuno), la reunión anual donde compartieron su informe anual. Y surgió una idea en nuestra organización de por qué no lanzamos Annapoorna en cada centro de RuralShores. El 13 de noviembre, un día antes de que Annapoorna tocara la cifra de 1 lakh (100.000 niños recibiendo desayuno gratis), 16 centros de RuralShores ofrecieron desayuno a 977 niños en 16 aldeas del país. Fue un pequeño comienzo. La pregunta que surgió fue cómo financiamos esto aparte del Annapoorna Trust. Y la gracia se manifestó otra vez. En uno de los satsangs celebradas en la presencia divina en Sunnyvale, EE.UU., el 16 de junio de 2015. Un devoto preguntó que hay que hacer para ayudar a los necesitados, y la forma de generar el cambio necesario en la educación y el sistema de medios en América.

Y esto es lo que dijo Swami:

PREGUNTA: Cuando miro a nuestro país, me preocupo por Estados Unidos y nuestro futuro. Sí, es muy poderoso y hay buenas personas y devotos, y estás trabajando a través de nosotros y guiándonos. Sin embargo, la diferencia entre ricos y pobres está aumentando. Veo niños que tienen hambre y otros con tanta riqueza. Hay jóvenes que abandonan la escuela secundaria y tienen hijos prematuramente o terminan en la cárcel, y personas que necesitan atención médica que no obtienen la cobertura que necesitan para cuidar a sus familias. Me preocupa que nuestro gobierno no esté haciendo lo suficiente. ¿Qué es lo que podemos hacer, como devotos, para ayudar a cambiar el sistema educativo y el sistema médico ? A veces, es posible que ni siquiera estés allí para disfrutar de los beneficios de todo lo que has hecho. La mayoría de las personas que hacen seva quieren ver los resultados de inmediato. Si no ven resultados, se decepcionan y dejan de hacerlo. El verdadero seva es seguir trabajando y no preocuparse por los resultados. Los resultados sucederán automáticamente si han hecho su trabajo correctamente, los resultados llegarán automáticamente. 

Por lo tanto, si ven tu comportamiento, tu paz, tu felicidad, la gente se acercara a preguntar: "¿Cómo es que a pesar de tantos problemas en América y en los alrededores, siempre estás sonriendo, siempre estás en paz, siempre estás feliz? ? "Entonces podrán decirles, es el tipo de orientación que he recibido, es el tipo de educación que he recibido, es el tipo de asociación con la que estoy, que me mantiene feliz y me hace pacífico. Entonces se sentirán atraídos por las enseñanzas y valores de Swami.

Simplemente abrir una escuela no es la solución. Debería haber necesidad de eso. Las personas deben tener la necesidad de vivir la vida de una manera particular. Mis escuelas no son solo para dar títulos. El hecho de que algunos no tengan dinero y no puedan ir a otra escuela, no significa que debes abrir una escuela y admitirlo allí. Esta escuela no se convertirá en otra escuela como las mías. Debería haber una necesidad, debería existir el hambre de comprender y aprender más que de una educación mundana. Entonces, Mi escuela tendrá sentido. ¿Qué es más grande que la educación mundana? Es la felicidad, la paz y la alegría que exhibes, que exhibas cuando te muevas en la sociedad. Sin embargo, si hay una necesidad por los valores que enseño, entonces definitivamente habrá un espacio para la escuela. 

Esa necesidad se desarrollará cuando la gente te observe a ti, a tu vida, a tu comportamiento y a tu felicidad, y también deseen llegar a ser como tú. 

Los ricos ganan mucho dinero por medios equivocados. Al final de sus vidas, terminan gastando todo en médicos o abogados. Nada queda con ellos. 

Los pobres que no reciben educación siguen mirando a los ricos, pensando que no tienen paz como ellos, pero esa no es la verdad. 

La solución a todo el problema está en el medio: una educación que proporciona los medios para ganarse la vida, junto con valores que enseñan cómo vivir correctamente. Tal educación es definitivamente necesaria en América, y sucederá aquí si Mis devotos están listos, si la gente está lista para recibir tal educación.

En la antigüedad, en la cultura india, no era suficiente si simplemente llevabas a un niño a la escuela y le decías que tenía edad para educarse. El maestro determinaba si el niño era elegible para esta educación que iba a impartir, y solo si encontraba al niño digno de esa educación, el gurú le daría educación.

In one of the satsangs held in the divine presence at Sunnyvale, USA, on 16 June, 2015. A devotee asked what must one do to help those in need, and how to bring the change required in education and medial system in America.

And here is what Swami said:

QUESTION: When I look at our country, I worry about America and our future. Yes, it is very powerful and there are good people and devotees, and You are working through us and guiding us. However, the difference in wealth and poverty is increasing. I see children who are hungry and others with so much wealth. There are youth who are dropping out of high school and having children early or ending up in jail, and people who need medical care who don’t get the coverage they need to take care of their families. I worry that our government isn’t doing enough. What it is that we can do, as devotees, to help the educational system and medical system change? I know what is happening in India – Your super speciality hospitals and the education in human values schools. Will that be happening here? What is it that we need to do now to create momentum for the poor people in our country to be able to have a good life?

SWAMI: Every act in the universe is governed by the law of action and reaction. Whatever we do now reflects on us later. The people who are suffering today or those who are peaceful today – there is definitely a past to it, but let us not dwell on that. What is important is what we are doing in the present, because that will define our future. If you sow a seed, you may not be able to have a tree ready the next day, and you will not be able to eat the fruit the third day; it may take a few years. Sometimes, you might not even be there to enjoy the benefits of all that you have done. Most of the people who do seva want to see the results immediately. If they don’t see results, they are disappointed and they stop doing it. True seva is to keep working and to not bother about the results. The results will happen automatically. If you have done your job correctly, the results will automatically come. Therefore, looking at your demeanor, your peace, your happiness, people will come and ask, "How is it that despite so many problems in America and in the surroundings, you are always smiling, you are always at peace, you are always happy?” Then you will be able to tell them, it is the kind of guidance that I have received, it is the kind of education that I have received, it is the kind of association that I am with that keeps me happy and makes me peaceful. Then they will be attracted towards Swami’s teachings and values. 

Simply opening a school is not the solution. There should be a hunger for it. People should know that there is a need to live life in a particular way. My schools are not just for giving degrees. Just because some do not have money and cannot go to another school, it does not mean that you open a school and admit them there. This school is not going to become another school like all the other schools. There should be a need, there should be a hunger to understand and learn more than just worldly education. Then, My school will make sense. What is greater than worldly education? It is the happiness, peace and joy that you exhibit, that you exude when you move around in the society. Then there will be parents who will want to have their children admitted, not merely for the sake of giving them free education, which is worldly, but for giving them the education that is eternal. Then, My schools and My institutions will start making sense.

If we admit just for the sake of admitting, there is no guarantee that these children will become any better than those who have received worldly education, have become very rich, and are least bothered about those who don’t have anything. You might create more of that by simply opening ordinary schools. However, if there is a need for the values that I teach, then there is definitely scope for the school. That need will develop when people watch you, your life, your behavior, and your happiness, and they also desire to become like you. The rich earn so much money by all the wrong means. At the end of their lives, they end up spending everything on doctors or lawyers. Nothing remains with them. The poor who do not get an education keep looking at the rich, thinking they are less peaceful than them, but that is not the truth. The solution to the whole problem is somewhere in the middle – an education that provides the means to earn a livelihood, coupled with values that teach how to live correctly. Such education is definitely needed in America, and it will happen here if My devotees are ready, if people are ready to receive such an education.

In olden times, in Indian culture, it was not enough if you simply brought a child to school and told him that this was his age to get educated. The teacher would determine whether the child was eligible for this education he was going to impart, and only if he found the child worthy of that education, would he be given education by the guru. My education is for life, not for living. Therefore, the day there is a need for this kind of education, and the day I have My people ready to support Me in this kind of education, projects will definitely happen. I have people with Me who are willing to support this. They have given up everything for the sake of Swami. When Swami wanted a hospital in a place which was never even visited by C.
