Una vez, un grupo de estudiantes de Sailand visitó su país vecino en una gira de estudio. Como parte de sus visitas a lugares de importancia histórica, habían estado en un museo. Una exhibición atrajo la atención de un niño del grupo visitante. Era un objeto pequeño como un cráneo. El chico preguntó qué era. Esta es la respuesta que recibió: "¡Es el cráneo del joven Buda!"
El niño es ahora un adulto, lleva atuendo de asceta y dirige su propio monasterio en un rincón tranquilo, guiando a sus compañeros aspirantes espirituales, pero todavía tiene la creencia de que lo que vio en el museo era realmente la reliquia de su Maestro, cuando él era joven.
Esta es la razón de su convicción, o convicción extraviada: el día que los estudiantes visitaron el museo, el director del museo, que es el jefe general del museo, él mismo, los llevó a recorrer el museo, ya que el equipo visitante trajo una carta de recomendación de su Ministro de Turismo y Asuntos Exteriores. El propio director explicó los detalles 'minuciosos' de cada exposición, incluida la exposición en cuestión.
El monje creía que el experto, en este caso el hombre a cargo del museo, que tenia varios títulos en historia y arqueología, ¡nunca podría estar equivocado!
¿Puede la opinión de un experto, ser contraria a la realidad?
Dejanos ver. Aquí hay otra calamidad provocada por otro experto: el doctor se inclinó sobre la figura sin vida en la cama. Luego se enderezó y dijo: "Lamento decir que su marido ya no existe, querida".
Un débil sonido de protesta vino del cuerpo supuestamente sin vida en la cama; "No, todavía estoy vivo".
"Cuida tu lengua", dijo la mujer.
"El doctor sabe más que tú".
¿Hemos sido condicionados a creer en la opinión de los expertos más que en la realidad.?
¿Estos llamados expertos siempre tienen la razón?
¿Tendemos a caer en la trampa de un alto respeto por las opiniones de los expertos, en lugar de ver y analizar los hechos de la realidad.?
En el proceso de nuestro depender de la influencia de los expertos, ¿a veces omitimos la realidad.?... ¿Seguiremos dudamos del Avatar contemporáneo, nos mantendremos alejados de Su Misión, y vamos a extrañar, haber perdido el autobús también esta vez?
¿Deberíamos cuestionar a los expertos? ¿Si, no, porque no?
Siguiendo el mandato de Krishna, cuando los ciudadanos de Brindavan dejaron de adorar a Devendra, ignorando así la opinión experta de los ancianos de la aldea y adorando a su verdadero benefactor Krishna, este los bendijo con su abundante gracia y también la oportunidad de presenciar el gran milagro del levantamiento de la colina de Govardhan.

Chap.7 - When the Truth Is Obvious and Shining Forth, Is It Still Necessary to Rely on ‘Expert’ Opinions?

Once a group of students from a Sailand visited their neighbouring country on a study tour. As part of their visits to places of historical importance, they had been to a museum. An exhibit attracted the attention of a boy from the visiting group. It was a small skull like object. The boy enquired what it was. This is the answer he received: “It is the skull of the young Buddha!”
The boy is now grown-up, dons ascetic’s attire and is running his own monastery in a quiet corner, guiding his fellow spiritual aspirants, but he still holds the belief that what he saw in the museum was really the relic of his Master when he was young. This is the reason for his conviction or rather misplaced conviction: the day the students visited the museum, the director of the museum, who is the overall head of the museum, himself, took them around the museum, as the visiting team brought a letter of recommendation from their minister of tourism and foreign affairs. The director himself explained the ‘minute’ details of each exhibit, including the exhibit in question.
The monk believed that the expert, in this case the man overall in charge of the museum, who has several degrees in history and archaeology, could never be wrong!
Can the expert’s opinion be contrary to the reality? Let us see. Here is another calamity wrought by another expert: the doctor bent over the lifeless figure in bed. Then he straightened up and said: “I am sorry to say that your husband is no more, my dear.”
A feeble sound of protest came from the lifeless figure in bed; “No, I am still alive.”
“Hold your tongue,” said the woman. “The doctor knows better than you.”
Have we been conditioned to believe in the experts’ opinion rather than reality?
Are these so called experts always right?
Do we tend to fall into the trap of a high regard for experts’ opinions rather than going by the facts?
In the process of our depending on experts, do we at times miss the reality? Do we still keep doubting the contemporary Avatar and keeping ourselves away from His Mission and are we going to miss the bus this time also?
Should we question the experts? If not, why not?
Following Krishna’s command, when the citizens of Brindavan stopped worshipping Devendra, thus ignoring the expert opinion of the village elders, and instead worshipped their real benefactor, Krishna blessed them with His abundant grace and also an opportunity to witness the great miracle of the lifting of the Govardan Hill. Krishna made Devendra realise the truth that, whereas Narendras are rulers of human beings, Devendra is the fixed-term ruler of the demi-gods; but He, Krishna, is the Lord of lords! Lord Krishna made Devendra clearly understand that He is the one from whom Devendra and his subjects, and also all the beings in all the planes, draw their sustenance.
