En un satsang celebrado en la presencia divina en Singapur, el 18 de septiembre de 2017, cuando se le preguntó acerca de la persecución de los Rohingyas*, esto es lo que dijo Swami:
*Rohingyas, son una minoría predominantemente musulmana, a los que la ONU describe como un pueblo "sin Estado", y "virtualmente sin amigos", ni en su continente.... amplia la informaciòn aquì.
Pregunta: Swami, en este momento, no lejos de nosotros en Myanmar, hay una crisis humanitaria masiva. Miles y miles de rohingya están siendo desplazados de Myanmar. Ellos van a Bangladesh y no hay lugar para que se queden allí. ¿Por qué están siendo perseguidos? ¿Hay algo que podemos hacer por ellos?
Swami: Te has encontrado con algunas noticias de las que se está informando ampliamente ahora, por lo que crees que está ocurriendo una injusticia en una parte específica del mundo. Sin embargo, la verdad es, ¿en qué parte del mundo no hay injusticia? Los ricos son injustos con los pobres, los sanos y fuertes son injustos con los débiles o los que están enfermos, los más ricos son injustos con los que no tienen oportunidades, los educados son injustos con los que no han tenido educación. Esto sucede en todas partes. En nombre de la religión, han encontrado este ejemplo, pero veo que este tipo de injusticia prevalece en toda la sociedad, en todas partes. Este tipo de persecución, este tipo de ostracismo ocurre en todas partes del mundo. Puede ocurrir debido a diferencias en el estado social, el estado económico, el estado religioso o incluso el género, pero está presente en todas partes. Debido a que esta noticia está sucediendo ahora y no muy lejos, le está llamando la atención, pero la verdad es que, en todos los niveles, la injusticia prevalece en todo el mundo.
Hay algunas cosas que pueden abordar de inmediato, con sus habilidades y recursos, y hay algunas cosas que no puede hacer. Lo importante que tienes que hacer es ayudar a la próxima generación a no desarrollar tal estrechez de miras y egoísmo, que se trata del "yo" y lo "mío", y no considera a los demás como "nuestros". Si quitas eso de la mente de los jóvenes de hoy, será posible tener una sociedad mejor mañana, donde no habrá un enfoque estrecho en nombre de la religión, el género, la casta, la geografía, la raza, la educación o oportunidad - o de hecho de cualquier tipo. Para eso debes trabajar.
Lo que describes no es nuevo en este mundo. Esta no es la primera vez que ha sucedido. Esto sucede todo el tiempo, en todo el mundo, debido a la estrechez de miras y el egoísmo que se han ido a la psique de los seres humanos. Solo cuando le enseñe a la gente a pensar de forma abierta, que 'todos son nuestros', se podra eliminar este tipo de tragedia y podrá ayudar a la sociedad a crecer como una sola familia.
Haz lo que sea posible para ti, según tu capacidad, y no hagas menos que eso. Además, al menos deberías eliminar este tipo de pensamiento egoísta y limitado de las mentes de aquellos que están a tu alrededor. Si haces esto, se extenderá al siguiente círculo, y luego al siguiente círculo y luego al país, el continente ,y con el tiempo, al mundo entero. Todos los viajes largos comienzan con los primeros pasos. Mientras caminas, paso a paso, tu bondad se extendera y llegará a donde tú quieras. Esa es la solución. No hay otra solución, no hay soluciones políticas, no hay soluciones tácticas y no hay soluciones legales. La transformación del individuo es la única solución permanente a este problema.

Question: Swami, right now, not far from us in Myanmar, there is a massive humanitarian crisis. Thousands and thousands of Rohingya are being displaced from Myanmar. They are going to Bangladesh and there is nowhere for them to stay there. Why are they being persecuted? Is there anything we can do for them?
Swami: You have come across some news which is being widely reported now, so you think some injustice is happening in a particular part of the world. However, the truth is, where in the world is there not injustice? The rich are unjust to the poor, the healthy and strong are unjust to the weak or those who are sick, the more affluent are unjust to those who do not have opportunities, the educated are unjust to those who have not had an education. This happens everywhere. In the name of religion, you have come across this one example, but I see this type of injustice prevalent in all society, everywhere. This kind of persecution, this kind of ostracization occurs everywhere around the world. It may occur because of differences in social status, economic status, religious status, or even gender, but it is present everywhere. Because this news is happening now and not far away, it is grabbing your attention, but the truth is, at every level, injustice is prevalent across the world.
There are some things you can address immediately, with your abilities and resources, and there are some things that you cannot. The important thing you have to do is to help the next generation not develop such narrow-mindedness and selfishness, which is about ‘I’ and ‘mine’ and does not consider others as ‘ours’. If you remove that from the mind of the youth today, it will become possible to have a better society tomorrow, where there will not be a narrow-minded approach in the name of religion, gender, caste, geography, race, education, or opportunity – or indeed of any kind. That is the what you must work towards.
What you are describing is not new to this world. This is not the first time it has happened. This happens all the time, across the world, because of the narrow-mindedness and selfishness that have gone into the psyche of human beings. Only when you teach people to think in a broad-minded way, that ‘all are ours’, can you remove this kind of tragedy and will you be able to help society grow together as a single family.
Do what is possible for you in your capacity and do not do less than that. In addition, you should at least remove this kind of selfish and narrow thinking from the minds of those who are around you. If you do this, then it will spread to the next circle, and then the next circle and then to the country, the continent and, in time, to the entire world. All long journeys begin with the first few steps. As you walk, step by step, your goodness will go and reach where you want it to. That is the solution. There is no other solution – no political solutions, no policy solutions and no law solutions. Transformation of the individual is the only permanent solution to this problem.
