En un satsang celebrado en la presencia divina en Sunnyvale, EE.UU., el 17 de junio de 2016; un devoto solicita orientación sobre la reencarnación. 

Y esto es lo que dijo Swami: 

Pregunta: Swami, ¿podrías contarnos un poco más sobre la reencarnación? ¿Nos quedamos con el mismo grupo familiar durante cientos y miles de años? ¿Nos cambiamos? ¿Cómo haces eso? Tú eres el jefe allí! (Risa) 

Swami: ¿Cómo funcionan las computadoras.? Recuerdan tantos nombres, tantas direcciones, tantos números. Tengo algo así, llamado 'chaitanya', Conciencia Absoluta, que lo recuerda todo. Es como una súper súper computadora que recuerda todo sobre todos. Sabe a quién colocar junto a quién, quién debe vivir con quién, cuánto tiempo deben vivir, cuándo deben dejar de estar juntos, qué deben hacer cuando están juntos, cuál debería ser el resultado de lo que hacen; todas estas consideraciones se alimentan en la super-supercomputadora llamada Conciencia Absoluta y esta conectada con todas las almas individuales. Los pone juntos, o lejos el uno del otro, durante un período de tiempo determinado o por períodos más largos, según lo que sea bueno para esa alma individual; lo que ayudará a esa alma a crecer hacia Dios. 
Todo esto se hace solo con ese único objetivo. Por lo tanto, si tienes los mismos padres, si tienes los mismos hijos, si tienes los mismos amigos, depende totalmente de si has aprendido la lección que se suponía que debías aprender en su compañía.

Una vez que hayan terminado el aprendizaje, pueden ir a la siguiente clase, donde se harán nuevos amigos, conocerán nuevos compañeros de clase, tendrán nuevos maestros y seguiran aprendiendo y creciendo. 

Si tu no has aprendido, te quedarás en la misma clase, tendrá los mismos amigos, el mismo maestro y las mismas personas que te rodean. 
Así es como tiene lugar la evolución. (Aplausos)

Question: Swami, could You tell us a little bit more about reincarnation? Do we stay with the same family group for hundreds and thousands of years? Do we shift around? How do You do that? You are the boss there! (Laughter)

Swami: How do computers perform so much? They remember so many names, so many addresses, so many numbers. I have something like that, called ‘chaitanya’, Absolute Consciousness, that remembers everything. It is like a super-super-computer which remembers everything about everyone. It knows whom to place next to whom, who should live with whom, how long they should live, when they should stop being with each other, what they should do when they are together, what should be the result of what they do; all these considerations are fed into the super-super-computer called Absolute Consciousness and it deals with all the individual souls. It places them together – or away from each other – for a certain period of time or for longer periods, based on what is good for that individual soul; what will help that soul to grow towards God. All this is done only with that single aim. So, whether you get the same parents, whether you get the same children, whether you get the same friends, totally depends on whether you have learned the lesson that you were supposed to learn in their company.

Once you have finished learning, you may go to the next class, where you will make new friends, meet new classmates, have new teachers and continue to learn and grow.

If you haven’t learned, you will stay in the same class, you will have the same friends, the same teacher and the same people around you. That is how evolution takes place. (Applause)
