Para la familia de devotos que han estado con Swami durante cuatro generaciones, con dos nuevos arribos en la familia, Swami estaba hablando acerca de cuán grande es la bendición de nacer como seres humanos, entre las 8.400.000 especies. Esto es algo que hemos oído a Swami decir a menudo. Sin embargo, más interesante fue cómo Él explicó los mayores beneficios de estar relacionados con el Señor.
Dijo: «Habiendo nacido como humanos, saber que Sathya Sai Baba es el Señor es una gran bendición, porque lo saben solo unos pocos millones entre miles de millones. Luego, ser devoto de Swami es más importante que simplemente saber aquello: de los millones que conocen a Swami, solo unos pocos cientos de miles son devotos y dirigen sus plegarias a Él. Entre aquellos que son devotos, solo unos pocos cientos Lo sirven, de modo que su bendición es mayor que la de los anteriores. Finalmente, gracias a que Lo sirven, un puñado de personas llegan a ser Él, y su bendición es la mayor».
Encapsuló este progreso comparándolo con los estudios primarios, secundarios, preuniversitarios y universitarios. Un rato más tarde, hablando a los estudiantes, dijo: «Desde “saber” deben elevarse a “rezar”; de “rezar” deben graduarse a “servir”, y desde “servir” deben finalmente lograr lo más elevado, que es “llegar a ser”.
En consecuencia, aquí están: saber, rezar, servir y llegar a ser: ¡cuatro pasos hacia la divinidad!

To the family of devotees who have been with Swami for four generations now, with two new arrivals in the family, Swami was speaking about what great blessing it is to be born as human beings out of 84 lakhs species. That’s something we have heard Swami telling often. But what was more interesting was how He explained the greater blessings of being associated with the Lord.
He said, “Having been born as humans, to know that Sathya Sai Baba is the Lord, is a great blessing, for only a few millions out of billions know it. Then, to be devoted to Swami is greater than just knowing, and out of millions of those who know Swami, only a few hundred thousands are devoted and pray to Him. Out of those devoted, only a few hundred serve Him and so their blessings are greater than others before. And finally through serving Him, only a handful become Him, and their blessing is the greatest.”
He encapsulated this progress by comparing it with primary, high school, Pre-University and University studies. While speaking to students a while later, He said, “From to ‘Know’ one must rise to ‘Pray’, from to ‘Pray’ one must graduate to ‘Serve’, and from to ‘Serve’ one must ultimately achieve the highest that is ‘ to become’.
So there it is, to know, to pray, to serve and to become, four steps to divinity!
