En un satsang que tuvo lugar en la presencia divina en Dubai, UAE, el 27 de agosto de 2015. Un devoto preguntó por qué la reacción a una acción no es inmediata.

Y esto es lo que dijo Swami:

Devoto: Los políticos están explotando al pueblo; personas inteligentes están explotando los menos inteligentes. ¿Por qué la reacción a sus acción no es inmediata? Si hay una reacción kármica inmediata a las acciones de los políticos corruptos, dejarán de explotar a las personas. ¿Por qué es el resultado del karma se da después de uno o varios nacimientos? Es por eso que la gente no tiene miedo de cometer pecados. Si el efecto fuera inmediato, el mundo sería un lugar más tranquilo para vivir.

Swami: Uno de mis estudiantes es muy aficionado a comer. Él es tan aficionado a comer que incluso si su estómago le duele, no se detendrá. Él va a seguir comiendo. Entonces el va y toma algunos medicamentos para poder comer más. 

No es que los malhechores no estén sufriendo. Viven siempre en el miedo, no tienen paz, ni consiguen dormir relajados; están preocupados y con miedo de que sean condenados o castigados por lo que han hecho. Ellos constantemente viven en un miedo tremendo. Eso sí, es un castigo para ellos. Al igual que el estudiante que es aficionado a la comida, que incluso a costa de la destrucción de sí mismo, sigue comiendo.

Del mismo modo, los políticos y las personas en el poder continúan abusando de sus poderes hasta que se vuelve imposible para ellos. El castigo no se trata de un castigo físico; mentalmente siguen sufriendo. Por un momento, piense en una vida, vivida continuamente con miedo; eso mismo es una forma de castigo instantaneo. 

Como dije, la avaricia es demasiada. No son capaces de detenerse. Sin embargo, eventualmente colapsarán. 

Mientras la Ley del Karma esté en vigencia, la verdad es que hay una reacción inmediata para cada acción. A veces te das cuenta y a veces no te das cuenta de la reacción. 

En última instancia, el sufrimiento y la alegría ocurren incluso mientras estás actuando. 

¿No es una forma de castigo que un malhechor viva constantemente con miedo? ¿No tiene miedo constante? 

Lo es, pero aún así, continúa haciendo lo que ha planeado, ya que no tiene control sobre su mente. 

Por lo tanto, la alegría o el sufrimiento comienzan inmediatamente después de la acción, pero la consecuencia más grande viene más adelante.

In a satsang held in the divine presence at Dubai, UAE, on 27 August, 2015. A devotee asked why reaction to an action is not immediate.

And here is what Swami said:

Devotee: Politicians are exploiting the public; intelligent people are exploiting the less intelligent. Why is the reaction to an action not immediate? If there is an immediate reaction for the corrupt politicians, they will stop exploiting the people. Why is the result of karma after a few or many janmas? That’s why people are not afraid of committing sins. If the effect was immediate, the world would be a more peaceful place to live.

Swami: One student of Mine is very fond of eating. He is so fond of eating that even if his stomach hurts, he will not stop. He will go on eating. He goes back and takes a few medicines so that he can eat more. It’s not that wrong-doers are not suffering. They are always afraid, they don’t have peace, nor do they get sleep; they are worried and afraid that they will be condemned or punished for what they’ve done. They are constantly living in tremendous fear. That itself is a punishment for them. Like the student who is fond of food, even at the cost of destroying himself, he goes on eating.

Likewise, the politicians and the people in power go on misusing their powers till it becomes impossible for them. Punishment is not about physical punishment; mentally they keep suffering. For a moment, think of a life where you are continuously living in fear; that itself is a form of punishment. Somewhere, as I said, the greed is too much. They are not able to stop themselves. However, eventually they will collapse. As long as the Law of Karma is in effect, the truth is that there is an immediate reaction for every action. Sometimes you realize and sometimes you don’t realize the reaction. Ultimately, suffering and joy occurs even as you are acting. Isn’t it a form of punishment that a wrong-doer constantly lives in fear? Is he not in constant fear? He is, but still, he continues to do what he has planned, as he has no control over his mind. Therefore, joy or suffering start immediately after the action, but the larger consequence come later on.
