En un satsang celebrada en la presencia divina en 

Atenas, Grecia, o l 4 de abril de 2017, un devoto preguntó cómo se puede lograr la unidad en un mundo con tantas religiones distintas.

Y esto es lo que dijo Swami:

Pregunta: Hay una gran cantidad de diversidad debido a muchos grupos con diferentes opiniones y diferentes religiones. ¿Cómo podemos lograr la unidad? Si decimos que somos del grupo Sai, otras puertas se cierran automáticamente. ¿De qué manera podemos llevar la unidad a un mundo de distinciones con tantas religiones? 

Swami: La comida de Grecia es diferente a la de la India o América, sin embargo, el propósito de comer comida es la misma: es para satisfacer el hambre de uno. 

Si un país comienza afirmando que su comida es superior a la comida de otro país, que su comida sabe mejor que la comida de otro, sería incorrecto. 

Uno puede disfrutar de comer arroz y sambar para saciar el hambre de la propia, mientras que otra persona puede disfrutar de comer pan, y sin embargo, otra persona puede disfrutar de comer algo completamente diferente. 

Sin embargo, todos estos alimentos son medios para satisfacer el hambre de uno. 

No se puede llamar a uno superior y a los otros inferiores. 

Sea cual sea la religión, cualquiera que sea la fe, cualquier sistema en el que crea y siga, lo conducirá a satisfacer el hambre interior de amor, de felicidad, de la paz.?...¿O no?... 

Usted debe hacerse esta pregunta. Al seguir cualquier fe que uno elija. Estoy obteniendo satisfacción interior, di es asi, entonces no hay nada malo en ninguna de ella. 

Ahora, si se llega a Grecia, con ganas de hacer Narayena Seva, y alimentar a la gente con sambar y rasam, lo comerán.? 

Usted tiene que darle al pueblo de Grecia lo que quieren comer, si desea alimentarlos. 

Por lo tanto, la alimentación es fundamental. Usted tiene que prepararse de una manera, que será de interés, para las personas que van a comer. 

Del mismo modo, para todas las religiones, es la base para satisfacer ese hambre de felicidad, y es posible con fe en Dios y amor a Dios. Debe hablar con la gente en el lenguaje del amor, no importando cual Dios, la fe o religión, a que se adhieran. 

Este amor es fundamental y es este amor el que será de interés para ellos. La mayoría de las veces, las personas son impulsados por su propio ego, a querer imponer sus pensamientos a los demás. 

Esto sólo muestra lo ignorantes que son, acerca de su propio pensamiento. Si realmente habla en el lenguaje de amor y si entiende realmente la unidad fundamental de todas las religiones y creencias, no habrá ningún conflicto. 

En primer lugar, averigua los fundamentos de esa religión en particular, y entiéndelo antes de intentar predicar otra cosa. Recuerda, Yo nunca dije que quería empezar otra religión. Sólo he dicho, que, quienquiera que siga una religión, deben ser mejores en el seguimiento de su religión, porque todas las religiones enseñan a creer en Dios, que es todopoderoso, y a servir a sus semejantes. No dicen nada diferente. 

La lucha por diferencias externas es una locura, nada más. Tales divisiones han sido creadas por gente egoísta, para su propio interés. Como devoto, usted debe entender la perspectiva más amplia, y al mismo tiempo hablando con personas de diferentes credos y religiones, debe apreciar lo que ya tienen en su religión, con el fin de encontrar las coincidencias entre los dos.

In a satsang held in the divine presence at 

Athens, Greece, on 4 April, 2017, a devotee asked how can unity be achieved in a world with so many distinct religions.

And here is what Swami said:

Question: There is a lot of diversity due to many groups with different opinions and different religions. How can we bring about unity? If we say that we are from the Sai group, other doors automatically close. In what way can we bring unity to a world of distinctions with so many religions?

Swami: The food of Greece is different than that of India or America, yet the purpose of eating food is the same: to satisfy one’s hunger. If one country starts claiming that their food is superior to the food of another country, that this food tastes better than that food, it would be incorrect. One may enjoy eating rice and sambar to quench one’s own hunger, whilst someone else might enjoy eating bread, and yet another person may enjoy eating something completely different. However, all these foods are means to satisfy one’s hunger. You cannot call one superior and the others inferior. Whatever religion, whatever faith, whatever system you believe in and follow, is it leading to satisfy the inner hunger for love, for happiness, for peace? Or not? You must ask this question. By following whatever faith one has, if they are obtaining inner satisfaction, then there is nothing wrong in any of it.

Now, if you come to Greece, wanting to do Narayena Seva, and feed the people sambar and rasam, who would eat it? You have to give the people of Greece what they want to eat, if you wish to feed them; therefore, food is fundamental. You have to prepare it in a way that will appeal to the people who are going to eat it. Likewise, for all religions, the basis is to satisfy that hunger for happiness, which is possible with faith in God and love for God. You must speak to the people in the language of love, mattering not which God, which faith or which religion they adhere to. This love is fundamental and it is this love that will appeal to them. Most of the time, people are driven by their own ego to establish their thoughts onto others. That only shows how ignorant they are about their own thinking. If you truly talk in the language of love and if you truly understand the fundamental unity of all religions and faiths, there will be no conflict.

First, find out the fundamentals of that particular religion, and understand it before attempting to preach anything else. Remember, I never said I wanted to start another religion. I only said that, whoever follows whatever religion, they should become better in following that religion, for all religions teach to believe in God, who is almighty, and serve your fellow beings. No religion says anything different. Fighting over external differences is foolishness, nothing more. Such divisions have been created by selfish people for their own self-interest. As devotees, you must understand the broader perspective and, whilst talking to people from different faiths and religions, you must appreciate what they already have in their religion in order to find the commonality between the two.
