En uno de los satsangs celebrados en la presencia divina en Sunnyvale, EE.UU., el 16 de junio de 2015. Un devoto preguntó qué debe hacer uno para ayudar a los necesitados y cómo generar el cambio necesario en la educación y el sistema de salud en América.
Y esto es lo que dijo Swami:
PREGUNTA: Cuando miro a nuestro país, me preocupo por América y nuestro futuro. Sí, es muy poderoso y hay buenas personas y devotos, y Ustedes están trabajando a través de nosotros guiándonos. Sin embargo, la diferencia entre ricos y pobres está aumentando. Veo niños que tienen hambre y otros con tanta riqueza. Hay jóvenes que están abandonando la escuela secundaria y tienen hijos temprano o terminan en la cárcel, y personas que necesitan atención médica y no reciben la cobertura que necesitan para cuidar de sus familias. Me preocupa que nuestro gobierno no esté haciendo lo suficiente. ¿Qué es lo que podemos hacer, como devotos, para ayudar al sistema educativo y al sistema de salud ? Sé lo que está sucediendo en la India - Sus hospitales de super especialidades y la educación en las escuelas con valores humanos. ¿Va a ocurrir aquí? ¿Qué es lo que debemos hacer ahora para crear el impulso para que la gente pobre de nuestro país, pueda tener una buena vida?
SWAMI: Cada acto en el universo está gobernado por la ley de acción y reacción. Lo que hagamos ahora se refleja en nosotros más tarde. Las personas que están sufriendo hoy o las que son pacíficas hoy - definitivamente es reflejo del un pasado, pero no nos detengamos en eso. Lo importante es lo que estamos haciendo en el presente, porque eso definirá nuestro futuro. Si siembras semilla, tal vez no puedas tener un árbol listo al día siguiente, y no podrás comer el fruto al tercer día. Puede tomar algunos años. A veces, puede que ni siquiera estén allí para disfrutar de los beneficios de todo lo que ha hecho. La mayoría de las personas que hacen seva quieren ver los resultados inmediatamente. Si no ven los resultados, están decepcionados y dejan de hacerlo. El verdadero seva es seguir trabajando y no preocuparse por los resultados. Los resultados se darán automáticamente. Si usted ha hecho su trabajo correctamente, los resultados vendrán automáticamente. Por lo tanto, mirando su comportamiento, su paz, su felicidad, la gente se acercara a preguntar, "¿Cómo es que a pesar de tantos problemas en América y en los alrededores, siempre sonríes, siempre estás en paz, siempre estás feliz ? "Entonces usted será capaz de decirles, es el tipo de orientación que he recibido, es el tipo de educación que he recibido, es el tipo de asociación con la que estoy, que me mantiene feliz y me hace pacífico, y luego serán atraídos hacia las enseñanzas y los valores de Swami.
Simplemente abrir una escuela no es la solución. Debe haber hambre. La gente debe saber que hay una necesidad de vivir la vida de una manera particular. Mis escuelas no son sólo para dar graduados. El hecho de que algunos no tengan dinero y no puedan ir a otra escuela, no significa que abran una escuela y los admitan allí. Esta escuela no va a convertirse en otra escuela como todas las otras escuelas. Debe haber una necesidad, debe haber un hambre de entender y aprender más que la educación mundana. Entonces, Mi escuela tendrá sentido. ¿Qué es más grande que la educación mundana? Es la felicidad, la paz y la alegría que usted exhiben, que ustedes exudan cuando se mueve en la sociedad. Entonces habrá padres que quieren que sus hijos sean admitidos, no sólo para darles educación gratuita, que es mundana, sino para darles una educación que es eterna. Entonces, Mis escuelas y Mis instituciones empezarán a tener sentido
Si admitimos alumnos sólo por el bien de admitirlos, no hay garantía de que estos niños se convertirán en mejores que los que han recibido una educación mundana, se vuelto muy ricos, y son menos molestados por aquellos que no tienen nada.
Ustedes podrían crear más de eso simplemente abriendo escuelas ordinarias. Sin embargo, si hay una necesidad de valores humanos, entonces definitivamente hay margen para la escuela. Esa necesidad se desarrollará cuando la gente les observe, sus vidas, su comportamiento y su felicidad, y ellos también desean ser como ustedes. Los ricos ganan mucho dinero por medios equivocados. Al final de sus vidas, terminan gastando todo en médicos o abogados. Nada queda con ellos. Los pobres que no reciben educación siguen mirando a los ricos, pensando que son menos pacíficos que ellos, pero eso no es la verdad. La solución a todo el problema está en algún lugar en el medio - una educación que proporciona los medios para ganar un medio de vida, junto con los valores que enseñan a vivir correctamente. Tal educación es definitivamente necesaria en América, y sucederá aquí si Mis devotos están listos, si la gente está lista para recibir tal educación.
En los tiempos antiguos, en la cultura india, no era suficiente si simplemente traias a un niño a la escuela y le decías que era la edad para educarse. El maestro determinaría si el niño era elegible para esta educación que iba a impartir, y sólo si encontraba al niño digno de esa educación, se le daría educación por el gurú. Mi educación es para la vida, no para vivir. Por lo tanto, el día en que haya necesidad de este tipo de educación, y el día que tengo a mi devotos listos para apoyarme en este tipo de educación, los proyectos definitivamente sucederán. Tengo gente conmigo que está dispuesta a apoyar esto. Han dejado todo por el bien de Swami. Cuando Swami quiso un hospital en un lugar que nunca fue visitado incluso por C. Sreenivas, él fue inmediatamente, dejando su hogar y familia detrás en Bangalore. Él estaba allí en Raipur desde el primer día y se quedó por más de tres años. Cuando tengo a tales devotos desinteresados que quieren perpetuar Mi tipo de educación, ciertamente abriré escuelas, universidades y hospitales en América, también.

In one of the satsangs held in the divine presence at Sunnyvale, USA, on 16 June, 2015. A devotee asked what must one do to help those in need, and how to bring the change required in education and medial system in America.
And here is what Swami said:
QUESTION: When I look at our country, I worry about America and our future. Yes, it is very powerful and there are good people and devotees, and You are working through us and guiding us. However, the difference in wealth and poverty is increasing. I see children who are hungry and others with so much wealth. There are youth who are dropping out of high school and having children early or ending up in jail, and people who need medical care who don’t get the coverage they need to take care of their families. I worry that our government isn’t doing enough. What it is that we can do, as devotees, to help the educational system and medical system change? I know what is happening in India – Your super speciality hospitals and the education in human values schools. Will that be happening here? What is it that we need to do now to create momentum for the poor people in our country to be able to have a good life?
SWAMI: Every act in the universe is governed by the law of action and reaction. Whatever we do now reflects on us later. The people who are suffering today or those who are peaceful today – there is definitely a past to it, but let us not dwell on that. What is important is what we are doing in the present, because that will define our future. If you sow a seed, you may not be able to have a tree ready the next day, and you will not be able to eat the fruit the third day; it may take a few years. Sometimes, you might not even be there to enjoy the benefits of all that you have done. Most of the people who do seva want to see the results immediately. If they don’t see results, they are disappointed and they stop doing it. True seva is to keep working and to not bother about the results. The results will happen automatically. If you have done your job correctly, the results will automatically come. Therefore, looking at your demeanor, your peace, your happiness, people will come and ask, "How is it that despite so many problems in America and in the surroundings, you are always smiling, you are always at peace, you are always happy?” Then you will be able to tell them, it is the kind of guidance that I have received, it is the kind of education that I have received, it is the kind of association that I am with that keeps me happy and makes me peaceful. Then they will be attracted towards Swami’s teachings and values.
Simply opening a school is not the solution. There should be a hunger for it. People should know that there is a need to live life in a particular way. My schools are not just for giving degrees. Just because some do not have money and cannot go to another school, it does not mean that you open a school and admit them there. This school is not going to become another school like all the other schools. There should be a need, there should be a hunger to understand and learn more than just worldly education. Then, My school will make sense. What is greater than worldly education? It is the happiness, peace and joy that you exhibit, that you exude when you move around in the society. Then there will be parents who will want to have their children admitted, not merely for the sake of giving them free education, which is worldly, but for giving them the education that is eternal. Then, My schools and My institutions will start making sense.
If we admit just for the sake of admitting, there is no guarantee that these children will become any better than those who have received worldly education, have become very rich, and are least bothered about those who don’t have anything. You might create more of that by simply opening ordinary schools. However, if there is a need for the values that I teach, then there is definitely scope for the school. That need will develop when people watch you, your life, your behavior, and your happiness, and they also desire to become like you. The rich earn so much money by all the wrong means. At the end of their lives, they end up spending everything on doctors or lawyers. Nothing remains with them. The poor who do not get an education keep looking at the rich, thinking they are less peaceful than them, but that is not the truth. The solution to the whole problem is somewhere in the middle – an education that provides the means to earn a livelihood, coupled with values that teach how to live correctly. Such education is definitely needed in America, and it will happen here if My devotees are ready, if people are ready to receive such an education.
In olden times, in Indian culture, it was not enough if you simply brought a child to school and told him that this was his age to get educated. The teacher would determine whether the child was eligible for this education he was going to impart, and only if he found the child worthy of that education, would he be given education by the guru. My education is for life, not for living. Therefore, the day there is a need for this kind of education, and the day I have My people ready to support Me in this kind of education, projects will definitely happen. I have people with Me who are willing to support this. They have given up everything for the sake of Swami. When Swami wanted a hospital in a place which was never even visited by C. Sreenivas, he immediately went, leaving his home and family behind in Bangalore. He was there in Raipur from day one and stayed for more than three years. When I have such selfless devotees who want to perpetuate My kind of education, I will certainly open schools, colleges, and hospitals in America, too.
