Entonces tú ganas.
La historia de la Universidad fuera algo así; ignorada, luego se rieron, lucharon contra ella y finalmente la voluntad de Swami Prevaleció".

Acababamos de regresar de Gulbarga (Universidad Sri Sathya Sai para la Excelencia Humana). Muchos de nosotros esperábamos a que la Universidad se pusiera en marcha oficialmente, porque durante algunos meses hubo retrasos, obstáculos y dificultades. Y en algún momento casi todos se dieron por vencidos.
Pensaron que era imposible porque intentaron todas las formas posibles de hacerlo. Como dicen, "una mentira viaja alrededor del mundo mientras la verdad aún se está poniendo en marcha".
Por lo tanto, todo lo que se dijo sobre nosotros, nuestro trabajo y la Universidad de manera burlona a los funcionarios, les hizo sentir que realmente no eramos tan buenos, porque es fácil aceptar la negatividad.
Se difunde rápidamente.
Es por eso que todos los canales de televisión y los periódicos están siempre vendiendo noticias negativas porque es más fácil de vender; la gente lo compra mientras que las personas no compran fácilmente noticias positivas, ideas y pensamientos.
"¿Una universidad gratuita donde no cobren por nada, incluyendo ropa y libros ?..! ¡Esto no puede ser verdad!"
Es difícil de creer, cuando tienes que convencerlos de algo tan bueno como eso.
Cuando dicen que es imposible, hasta cierto punto estamos de acuerdo! ¡No es posible para los "otros"!
Pero es posible para Swami, porque solo Él, piensa así.
El Ministro de Educación Superior de Karnataka, Sri G T Devegowda, quien se unió a Gulbarga compartió con mucho cariño su experiencia que tuvo con Swami en los últimos 15 a 20 días. Antes de eso, no estaba asociado con Swami a excepción de una o dos visitas a Puttaparthi hace muchos años. Vino a Muddenahalli recientemente, experimentó la presencia de Bhagavan y fue un hombre totalmente cambiado. El ministro continuó diciendo que estudio solo hasta el octavo grado. Después de eso no pudo continuar sus estudios debido a las situaciones en el hogar. Era de un origen pobre, de un pueblo. Pero por suerte, fue elegido como el Ministro de Educación Superior de Karnataka, quien, paradójicamente, nunca tuvo estudios superiores. Dijo que estaba avergonzado de aceptar la cartera, porque los periódicos hicieron una broma y vendieron esta broma diciendo que el Ministro de Educación Superior, ni siquiera aprobó la escuela primaria.
El ministro, tonto, se demoró durante casi un mes, si podía conseguir otra cartera, pero no fue así.
Y él dijo: “Hoy entiendo que fue Baba quien me hizo Ministro de Educación Superior a pesar de no tener educación superior, ¡solo para hacer su trabajo a través de mí!”. Su corazón lo entendió. Él habló tan alto acerca de la Misión de Swami. Interrogó a dos estudiantes que hablaron antes que él y les preguntó a qué se dedicaban sus padres. Y se dio cuenta de que todos tienen antecedentes muy pobres y ordinarios. Ahora esperan una educación que será extraordinaria, unica en el mundo por sus características, en términos de calidad académica, espiritual, intelectual, social, emocional y de insumos. El Ministro no pudo obtenerla en su Tiempo pero ahora está disponible para los más pobres de los pobres y quedó impresionado.
Luego Swami habló y dijo: “El ministro de educación superior también estudió hasta el 8º. Yo también estudié hasta el 8vo. Por eso somos buenos amigos! (Risas)
¡Pero él se convirtió en el Ministro de Educación Superior y Yo en el Maestro de Educación Superior! ”(Aplausos)
Sin embargo, el Ministro no estudió debido a las situación imperante. Swami no estudió por elección. Swami no pertenecía a este mundo. Él tenía una misión que realizar. Él tenía una tarea para el. Y se fue. El ministro abandonó la escuela, mientras que Swami salió de la escuela y logró lo que logró.
Estableció Universidades, Colegios, Escuelas; Ofreciendo educación tanto mundana como espiritual a tantos. Esta forma sutil, es una capa adicional de complicación para las cabezas pensantes. Para los corazones experimentados, no es un gran problema. Ellos entienden rápidamente. Sin embargo, todo el drama que tuvo que atravesar pasó y llegó a donde hemos llegado.
Un devoto quería hacer Halwa (dulce indio) para Swami. Y la energía se apagó. Finalmente, el devoto tuvo que conseguir el Halwa medio cocido para Swami. El devoto dijo que incluso cuando queremos hacer algo bueno por ti, hay muchos obstáculos.
Y Swami dijo: "Sreyāṃsi Bahuvighnāni Sambhavanti Padepade" (Muchos obstáculos ocurren cuando te propones hacer algo bueno, incluso para grandes personas). Nadie te impedirá hacerlo mal, porque todos quieren tener compañeros alrededor. Pero cuando intentas hacer el bien, la gente no te cree. Primero te ignoran. Entonces se ríen de ti. Luego te combaten. Entonces tú ganas. La historia de la universidad fue algo así; ignorada, luego se rieron, la atacaron y finalmente prevaleció la voluntad de Swami.
Swami dijo: “Hoy en día, ¿cuál, universidad en el mundo está pensando de esta manera? Hacer a un hombre, hombre! ¿Cuántas se esfuerzan por hacer de un ser humano, un ser humano con valores humanos? ¡Ninguna! Esta es una Universidad diferente. No se trata solo de hacer de un humano, un humano; ¡Los está haciendo excelentes humanos! ¿Qué es un excelente humano? ¡Es equivalente a ser Divino! Él es perfecto en todos los aspectos. Estamos produciendo Dioses. No es una educación para hacer hombres.
Es una Educación Divina ”.
Es una transición. Antes, estábamos aprendiendo cosas más elevadas. Pero ahora tenemos que convertirnos en lo más alto. Nuestra graduación significa que nos convertimos en Dios!
Qué ideal tan elevado en el que Swami se ha embarcado en este viaje. Está muy claramente definido, claramente diseñado , para un propósito diferente, todos juntos.
¡Regresamos abrumados por la función en Gulbarga porque hemos visto las luchas, la paciencia, la perseverancia y la determinación de Swami! Trabaja duro como una persona ordinaria. Hemos visto gente adicta al trabajo. ¡Este es un Dios adicto al trabajo! Todo el tiempo, Swami está pensando cómo mejorar la vida de las personas. Swami dijo muy bellamente: “La mayoría de la gente piensa después de haber hablado. Pero Yo pienso mucho antes de hablar.
Alguien dijo que es un milagro que la escuela se haya transformado en una Universidad dentro de los siete años de su existencia, también en una parte remota y poco desarrollada de Karnataka. En la parte posterior del más allá, esta transformación es un milagro!
Entonces Swami dijo: “Esto no es un milagro. El milagro es cuando Krishna decidió que Kuchela debería tener una mansión de tres pisos durante la noche. ¡Milagro es cuando Krishna decidió que la esposa de Kuchela debería curarse de sus enfermedades de la piel, al punto que el propio Kuchela no podía reconocerla! Eso es milagro. Esto no es un milagro. Este es un trabajo duro. Este es un servicio desinteresado. Esto es sacrificio. Esto es amor. Esta es la manifestación de todas estas cosas, en conjunto unidos, devotos, personal, y personas, para que esto suceda.
Gulbarga no sucedió con la decisión Swami y los edificios listos a la mañana siguiente. Qué alegría hubiera sido, pero Swami no lo hace de esa manera. Él pone todo junto ladrillo a ladrillo, pieza por pieza a través de todos nosotros, porque Él dice que no tiene un cuerpo y nuestro cuerpo debe ser Suyo.
A través de nosotros, Él hará su trabajo. Todos los que nos hemos ofrecido a Él, Él nos usa como instrumentos para hacer lo que Él quiere que hagamos.
Incluso cuando estábamos fallando y no cumpliendo con las expectativas, Él vino y se involucró; nos elevo, nos apoyó, nos fortaleció, nos alentó y nos motivó a seguir insistiendo y no renunciar a nuestra fe.
Este es el tipo de liderazgo que Swami nos ha dado.
Swami dijo que está bien si algunas personas no lo entienden. No debemos sentirnos mal por ello.
Paapam (es la palabra que Swami usó), no entienden.
No odiemos a nadie. No hablemos mal de nadie. No juzguemos a nadie.
Aceptémoslos con más compasión. Somos privilegiados, muchos no lo tienen.
Está bien.

‘Nobody will stop you from doing bad because everybody wants to have peers around. But when you try to do good, people don’t believe you. They laugh at you. They fight you. Then you win. The University story was something like that; ignored, laughed at, and fought and finally Swami’s will prevailed’.

We have just returned from Gulbarga (Sri Sathya Sai University for Human Excellence). Many of us were waiting for the University to officially get going because for quite a few months there were delays, obstacles and difficulties. And at some point of time almost everyone gave up. They thought it is impossible because they tried every possible way of doing it. As they say, ‘A lie travels around the world while the truth is still putting on its shoes’. So, whatever was told about us, our work and the university in a deriding way to the officials, it made them feel we were really not so good because it is easy to accept negativity. It quickly sinks in. That is why all the TV channels and newspapers are all the time selling negative news because it is easier to sell; people buy it; whereas people don’t buy positive news, ideas, and thoughts easily. ‘A free university where they won’t charge for anything including clothes and books?! This can’t be true!’ It’s difficult to convince when you have to convince something as good as this. When they say it is impossible, to an extent we agree! It is not possible for ‘others’! But it is possible for Swami alone to even think like this.
The Higher Education Minister of Karnataka, Sri G T Devegowda who joined in at Gulbarga very lovingly shared about his experience he had with Swami in the last 15 to 20 days. Before that, he was not associated with Swami except for one or two visits to Puttaparthi many years ago. He came to Muddenahalli recently, experienced Bhagawan’s presence and he was totally a changed man. The Minister went on to say that he studied only till the 8th grade. After that he could not continue his studies because of the situations at home. He was from a poor background, from a village. But as the luck would have it, he was chosen as the Higher Education Minister of Karnataka who paradoxically never had higher studies! He said that he was embarrassed to accept the portfolio because the newspapers made a joke out of it and sold this joke around saying the Higher Education Minister is not even a school pass! The Minister dilly dallied for almost a month if he could get any other portfolio but it was not to be. And he said, “Today, I understand that it was Baba who made me the Higher Education Minister despite not having any higher education, only to get His work done through me!” His heart understood. He spoke so high about Swami’s Mission. He asked two students who spoke before him and asked what their parents did. And he realized that they are all from very poor, ordinary backgrounds. Now they are looking forward to an education which is going to be extraordinary, one of its kinds in the world, in terms of academic quality, spiritual, intellectual, social, emotional inputs that will go in. The Minister could not get it in his time but now it is available to the poorest of the poor and he was impressed.
Next Swami spoke and said, “The Higher Education Minister also studied till 8th. I also studied till 8th. That’s why we are good friends! (Laughter) But he became the Higher Education Minister and I have become the Higher Education Master!” (Applause)
However, the Minister did not study because of the situations. Swami did not study out of choice. Swami did not belong to this world. He had a Mission to carry on. He had a task cut out for Him. And He walked out. The Minister dropped out of the school whereas Swami walked out of the school and achieved what He went on to achieve. He set up universities, colleges, schools; offered education both worldly and spiritual to so many. In the subtle form, it’s further layer of complication for the thinking heads. For the experiencing hearts, it’s not a big deal. They quickly understand. Nevertheless, all the drama that had to go through went through and reached where we have reached.
A devotee wanted to make Halwa (Indian sweet) for Swami. And the power went off. Finally, the devotee had to get the half cooked Halwa for Swami. The devotee said even when we want to do something good for You, there are so many obstacles. And Swami said, ‘Sreyāṃsi Bahuvighnāni Sambhavanti Padepade’ (Many obstacles occur when you set out to do something good, even for great people) Nobody will stop you from doing bad because everybody wants to have peers around. But when you try to do good, people don’t believe you. First they ignore you. Then they laugh at you. Then they fight you. Then you win. The University story was something like that; ignored, laughed at, fought back and finally Swami’s will prevailed.
Swami said, “Today, which university in the world is thinking in this way? To make a man, a man! How many are striving to make a human being, a human being with human values? None! This is the University with a difference. It’s not just trying to make a human, a human; it’s making them excellent humans! What is excellent human? It is equivalent to being Divine! He is perfect in all respects. We are producing Gods. It’s not a man-making education. It is God-making education”.
It is a transition. Earlier, we were learning higher things. But we now have to become the highest. Our graduation means we become God! What a lofty ideal which Swami has embarked on this journey. It is very clearly defined, clearly cut out for a different purpose all together.
We came back overwhelmed from the function at Gulbarga because we have seen Swami’s struggles, patience, perseverance and determination! He works hard like an ordinary person. We have seen workaholic people. This is a workaholic God! All the time, Swami is thinking how to make people’s lives better. Swami very beautifully said, “Most of the people think after they have spoken. But I think a lot before I speak.”
Someone said that it is a miracle that the school has transformed into a university within seven years of coming into existence, that too in a remote, underdeveloped part of Karnataka. In the back of the beyond, this transformation is a miracle! Then Swami said, “This is not a miracle. Miracle is when Krishna decided that Kuchela should get a three storied mansion overnight. Miracle is when Krishna decided Kuchela’s wife should be cured of her skin diseases so much so that Kuchela himself could not recognize her! That is miracle. This is not a miracle. This is hard work. This is selfless service. This is sacrifice. This is love. This is manifestation of all these things put together of devotees, staff and people to make this happen. Gulbarga did not happen when Swami decided and next morning buildings were ready. What a joy it would have been but Swami does not do it that way. He puts everything together brick by brick, piece by piece through all of us because He says He does not have a body and our body should be His! Through us, He will do His work. All of us who have offered ourselves to Him, He uses us as instruments to do what He wants us to do. Even when we were failing and falling short of expectations, He came and pitched in; He raised us up, supported us, strengthened us, encouraged us, and motivated us to keep on prodding and not give up our faith. This is the kind of leadership Swami has given us.
Swami said that it is fine if some people do not understand it. We must feel bad about it. Paapam (the word Swami used), they don’t understand. Let us not hate anybody. Let us not speak ill of anybody. Let us not judge anybody. Let us accept them with more compassion. We are privileged, so many don’t have it. It’s alright.
