Karma, Bhakti y Jñana
Swami nunca pierde la oportunidad de enseñar una lección espiritual de actos aparentemente mundanos. Encender una lámpara en la sala de maestros, mientras visitaba el albergue, no fue una excepción.
Entonces, cuando Swami entró en la sala de maestros, fue recibido con un pequeño altar en la esquina de la sala y se le pidió que encendiera la lámpara.
Mientras Swami golpeaba el fósforo y encendía la llama, comentó:
"Golpear el fósforo para crear fuego es Karma Marga, el camino de la acción".
La lámpara llena de aceite combustible y sin agua, es el corazón lleno de devoción a Dios, y sin mundo, representa a Bhakti Marga, el camino de la devoción, finalmente, la llama se encendió con el fuego del fósforo y se mantuvo con el aceite. La lámpara, es la luz de la sabiduría o Jnana Marga - camino de la sabiduría.
Por lo tanto, cada uno de estos caminos coexiste para complementarse y no es distinto o diferente. De la misma manera, tú también debes enseñar aquí, con amor por Dios, ¡y eso te asegurará que te des cuenta de Dios algún día.!
Para el maestro, un aspirante espiritual serio, que encontraba en las tareas mundanas de enseñar, un impedimento a veces, Swami le despejó la confusión con un simple acto de encender una lámpara de aceite en su propia habitación, y por lo tanto, también en su corazón.

Swami never misses an opportunity to teach a spiritual lesson out of seemingly mundane acts. Lighting a lamp in the room of one of the teachers, while He visited the hostel, was no exception.
So, as Swami entered the room of the teacher, He was welcomed to a small altar in the corner of the room and was asked to light the lamp. As Swami struck the match and lighted the flame, He remarked, “Striking the match to create fire is Karma Marga - path of action. The lamp filled with combustible oil bereft of water, is the heart full of devotion to God and bereft of the world, and so it represents Bhakti Marga - path of devotion, finally the flame lighted with the fire of match stick and sustained by the oil of lamp, is the light of the wisdom or Jnana Marga – path of wisdom. Therefore, each of these paths co-exist to complement each other and are not distinct or different. Like-wise you too must teach here, with love for God and it will ensure that you will realise God one day!”
To the teacher, a serious spiritual aspirant who found the mundane tasks of teaching an impediment at times, Swami cleared the confusion by a simple act of lighting an oil lamp right in his own room and thereby in his heart too.
