INNER VIEW By Sri Madhusudan  It’s Free!     As the volunteer was offering juices to the guests, none seemed to take any. Seeing his plight Swami called the volunteer and started distributing the juice terra packs Himself and now there was a rush to receive it from Swami’s hands. The volunteer submitted innocently, “Swami, no one was taking when I offered them, but when You are giving all are eager to receive.” Swami said laughingly, “Well, they know that Sai Baba gives everything free so they are willing to take, but were afraid to take from you lest you should charge them for the juices!” All those who were the fortunate witnesses to this conversation burst into laughter at this remark of Swami. However light hearted a remark it may seem, each word of it weighed tonnes in gold. In a world where there are no free lunches, Swami gives education, health, water, shelter, nutrition and all else absolutely free without expecting anything in return. He had declared, “Two years from now, mark my words, we will be all gathered at another part of the country way down in the south to open another hospital in Maharashtra. I’m not imagining and telling things. But I’m seeing and telling you. The reader may be in the tenth page of the book and he may not know what’s on the sixtieth page. Whereas the writer of the book knows the entire story. I know the whole story.” As per the Divine assurance, exactly two years on, November 27, 2018 was to stand as the D-Day for the commencement of services, of yet another magnificent temple of healing – Sri Sathya Sai Sanjeevani Centre for Child Heart Care and Training in Paediatric Skills in Navi Mumbai. This grand building truly stands as a testament to the unstoppable will of the Lord when it is joined by human effort; just as Bhagawan has reminded us time and again that when God’s will and man’s effort come together, nothing is impossible. On the evening of November 26, Bhagawan along with His entourage, students, staff and devotees from 40 countries gathered at this hallowed hospital building. While everyone were seated under the stars, in the centre of the heart-shaped hospital, Bhagawan went around each and every room that had been built so far. After some time, He glided outside amidst the devotees while melodious Bhajans reverberated all around. The evening programme, which was a medical conference outlining various aspects of the Sai Sanjeevani hospitals, was introduced by Dr Sreemayi Sreenivas. Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai Baba arrived at the Hospital in the evening, and after blessing all those who had worked tirelessly to make this dream a reality, Bhagawan made His way to the centre of this heart-shaped hospital, for yet another beautiful session in His Divine presence. The proceedings began with a welcome address by Sister Bhuvana Santhanam, who offered her gratitude to Bhagawan for making this miracle a reality. She spoke about the two brothers, Anil and Sagar Muthyala, the engineers for this grand project and how they had completed so much of the building in just a short span of 60 days! She said, “Where logic ends, magic begins! Today indeed is a red-letter day in the history of the Sri Sathya Sai Sanjeevani Hospitals as this Divine temple of healing truly stands as a manifestation of the Will and power of the Lord.” The first speaker for the evening, was the legendary cricketer, Sri Sunil Gavaskar. He expressed his gratitude to Bhagawan for gracing his hometown with His Divine presence and prayed that Bhagawan should keep visiting the city. With one in every 100 children being born with Congenital Heart Defect, the statistics reveal that in the state of Maharashtra, only 10% of these children receive treatment. The Sri Sathya Sai Sanjeevani hospitals stand tall as beacons of light for these little children and their families, who have no other to turn to, but God. It is under the guidance of Sri C Sreenivas that these hospitals have been taking shape over the last seven years. Bhagawan arrived during the late afternoon as everyone had lined the roads in anticipation. He proceeded straight to the sanctum of the Sri Ramakrishna Temple. Thereafter, He was taken to the room of Swami Vivekananda and meditation room of Sri Ramakrishna Paramahamsa. Upon visiting these places, speaking to all who had gathered He said that every brick, stone, dust particle, leaf and blade of grass here was full of sacrifice. He continued saying, “This is the very same place where both, God Descended and Man Ascended. This place has seen God Himself Descend in Human form and Man ascend to Divinity” – “Tyaagenaike Amrutatva Maanashuh”. Only through Sacrifice can immortality be attained. With that feeling of purity and sacrifice, spend time here and pray. This place has become immortal because of the sacrifice of the people living here since ancient times”. Bhagawan then proceeded back to the temple of Sri Ramakrishna for Arati and after sitting for a while in the prayer hall attached to the Sanctum of the temple, Bhagawan returned to His residence whilst the devotees, students and staff boarded buses to visit the Dakshineshwar Kali temple. Sri Gautam Deb, Minister of Tourism graced the evening, along with Pujya Chidanand Saraswati Ji from Parmarth Niketan, Rishikesh. Sri Subhojit Roy Mukherjee, trustee of the Sri Sathya Sai Aarogya Vahini Trust, West Bengal commenced the proceedings of the evening by speaking about the health service initiatives taken up by the youth of West Bengal and recounted how four years ago, he had requested Bhagawan Baba to build a hospital in West Bengal. At that time, Bhagawan had told Sri Subhojit to start with a medical van and if the youth were able to sustain the initiative, He would give them a small hospital to run. Bhagawan then promised that if they managed to sustain the small hospital as well, He Himself would come and initiate the building of a larger hospital in West Bengal. “Today, after only three years into this medical initiative, moved by the prayers of thousands of mothers in West Bengal, Bhagawan has graced this blessed State in order to initiate the building of another Sri Sathya Sai Sanjeevani Hospital for Paediatric Cardiac Care”, he submitted emotionally. Before making His way to the main area, Bhagawan first stopped just opposite His own beautiful quarters, to perform the Bhoomi Puja for a new staff quarters for all those dedicated people working tirelessly in this medical mission in Palwal. Currently, the staff of the hospital have to travel everyday from rented apartments some distance away from the hospital. Seeing this difficulty, Swami decided to initiate the construction of Staff quarters. After performing the Puja, Bhagawan lovingly declared that this quarters was His gift to the selfless staff of the hospital, and went on to outline various types of facilities which He wanted to ensure were provided for the recreation of the doctors, and to cater for those with families. Truly, when we do His work, He Himself takes care of everything in our lives! Bhagawan then proceeded to the dais at the centre of the hospital, where all staff, devotees and students had gathered. The celebrations began with the invocatory Durga Suktam by women Staff members of the Hospital. These ladies had learnt this chant within one week and chanted beautifully as an offering to their Lord. A welcome address was then given by Dr Subramanian Chellappan, a senior consultant in Paediatric Cardiac Anaesthesia and Critical Care. Welcoming the gathering, Dr Chellappan expressed his heartfelt gratitude to Bhagawan for His presence on this wonderful occassion of the second anniversary.... The Lord of Lords along with His entourage, reached the land of Devas on the evening of December 3, and was lovingly welcomed by His Holiness Pujya Swami Chidanand Saraswatiji. It was a very touching and emotional welcome and was so glorious to see the beautiful relationship between Bhagawan and Pujya Swamiji. Thereafter, dinner was served to Bhagawan and all retired to their rooms to rest for the night. The next morning, Bhagawan proceeded along with Pujya Swamiji and Sadhvi Bhagawatiji for the Bhoomi Puja of ‘Sai Nivas’, which will be Bhagawan’s residence at Parmarth Niketan. After the rituals were performed, Bhagawan proceeded for a beautiful and glorious Satsang. This Satsang was indeed the highlight of the last few days spent with Bhagawan. Sadhvi Bhagawatiji first addressed the gathering and welcomed everyone back to Parmarth Niketan. She spoke about Bhagawan’s upcoming residence, ‘Sai Nivas’ and reminded everyone “to keep ‘Sai Nivas’ within our own hearts because that is what will keep us coming back to our Selves.” She also reminded everyone to engage further in service and make use of this blessed opportunity of being in the lap of Mother Ganga. Pujya Swamiji then spoke next, and reminisced some of his experiences with Bhagawan, narrating how Bhagawan had promised Swamiji that whenever He would come to Rishikesh, He would come to Parmarth. They were all divided into three groups and each group spent the morning visiting one of the three temples of Chandi Devi, Mansa Devi and Bilkeshwar Mahadev. Before Bhagawan departed for Haridwar after partaking lunch, He blessed all the Sevadals and kitchen volunteers who had worked selflessly and tirelessly to take care of all the 600 people travelling with Bhagawan at Rishikesh. Bhagawan then proceeded to Haridwar in the afternoon to the VIP Ghat, where a Satsang was held in a specially erected pandal on the banks of Mother Ganga. Brother Sumeet Tappoo presented a musical rendition of beautiful devotional songs. Bhagawan then sat on the banks of Mother Ganga, where a special Puja was performed as a group of priests had come from Pauri to do a special Ganga Arati in the evening. Afterwards, Bhagawan gave His farewell blessings and after taking group pictures with everyone, the group proceeded back to Rishikesh for dinner and to retire for the night before Bhagawan....
