There is no greater happiness than being at peace all the time. Therefore, only when you learn how to be at peace, which is by removing the 'I', by removing the 'want', then you can really have happiness in your life, you can remain happy all the time. Let us pledge to become more selfless, more detached and thereby develop the peace within that comes and stays and does not go and also helps others stay at peace and enjoy this happiness.
                                                                                          -Baba

Purpose of Life

As the young lady volunteer walked in to the room and conveyed her gratitude to Swami for having given her a new direction in life which otherwise would have been wasted away, she said tearfully, "Swami! Thank you so much for giving me a purpose in my life."

The master of words was quick to reply, "Yes dear one! The purpose of life is a life of purpose.”

I wondered how this simple play of words conveyed the highest truth. Most of the youth today not knowing where to go, lose their way following the crowds. In such times Swami comes to their rescue by showing them a higher way of leading their lives. He travels around the world inspiring many to join service activities, engage in higher joys of loving and serving God and ultimately experience the oneness with all creation.

Just the other day Swami was looking out of the window in Fiji, and remarked, "Look, those ships that are sailing towards the harbour in the dark. They are being guided by the light house that indicates the shores and avoids accidents. Today, My Ashrams that are being established around the world will be light houses guiding humanity towards their goal of God.”

Yes, Swami is here teaching us to lead a life of purpose, let's make 'following Him' the only purpose of our lives.

NEW YEAR CELEBRATIONS 2018 - SATHYA SAI GRAMA, MUDDENHALLI - JANUARY 01 2018

Come first of January, the world awakens to a new day with renewed energy, rejuvenated spirit and revitalised belief. The day brings with itself hope that the year ahead would be filled with happiness and prosperity. Almost as if He was strengthening this belief, Swami came amidst the audience, making His way to every nook and corner of the auditorium, blessing every individual that was a part of the gathering, reassuring them that the New Year would indeed by a happy one. On this chilly winter morning, Bhagawan was the warmth that filled every heart, spreading joy and cheer as He glided through the devotees and students, making his way to the dais.
The New Year Celebrations began with the launch of the second volume of the musical Bhajans album, titled ‘Bhajan Sudha’. The album was conceived by Bhagawan one year ago and as per His wish and command, the musicians began working on compositions and completed nine compositions in a record time of two weeks. The first album was released by Bhagawan on the same day, exactly one year ago. The album launch was followed by the recitation of Vedic hymns by the first year pre-University students of Muddenahalli Campus.
The first speaker for the evening was Sri Nithya Shanti, founder and leader of The Nithya Shanti foundation, a true seeker who gave up a promising corporate career in order to become a Buddhist monk and later renounced even monkhood....

DIVINE VISIT - JANUARY 1 AND 2, 2018 - SRI LANKA
When God utters something, it must happen. So, when the God incarnate, Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai Baba, who is still compassionately continuing His mission from the subtle realm to transform humans, so that one day eventually all will realise their true divine selves, gives His word that He will arrive in Sri Lanka every New Year, it must happen. Swami’s entourage departed from the Bangalore International Airport on the evening of January 1, 2018 after a beautiful and glorious New Year morning Satsang. The entourage this time also included the final year students from the Sri Sathya Sai Centre for Human Excellence, staff members, along with a few others guests.
Upon arrival at the Bandarnaike International Airport in Columbo, the entourage were lovingly received by Mrs Penny Jayewardene, Brother Nishanta Dissanayake, and others. It was a late arrival and everyone proceeded directly to their places of accommodation for the night at Piliyandala, which is an hour away from Columbo. The students and staff were lovingly accommodated at Dr A T Ariyaratne’s Sarvodaya, as always. Swami was driven straight to the Jayewardene residence, and He was lovingly received with Poorna Kumbham by devotees who had gathered with much love and devotion. Swami blessed everyone and urged all to retire immediately as it was a little past mid night already. The next morning was to be an early start, yet again to Batticaloa, but via Nuwara Eliya to visit a few temples of importance from the Ramayana. Brother Nishanta who always drives Swami during the divine visits to this emerald island was about to take His leave when Swami remarked, “Take good rest, as you have to drive Me tomorrow. You know the route well here, and I know the route well in the other world. The Kevat....
