En un satsang que tuvo lugar en la presencia divina en Estambul, Turquía, el 3 de abril de 2017, un devoto preguntó por qué la mayor parte de la violencia en el mundo se hace en el nombre de Dios.

Y esto es lo que dijo Swami:

Pregunta: La mayor parte de la violencia en el mundo de hoy se hace en el nombre de Dios. ¿Qué dice Swami al respecto?

Swami: Se está haciendo en el nombre de Dios, pero también se está haciendo por propias razones egoístas. Hay gente en el borde de la carretera desde Bangalore a Puttaparthi que tienen muchos pequeños hoteles y tiendas. Si viaja por ese camino y se detiene por un pequeño refrigerio o almuerzo, siempre verá un cartel con letras que dice: 'Sai Baba Hotel', 'Sai Hotel' o una frase similar, con una foto de Baba. El nombre es 'Sai Baba Hotel', pero todo el trabajo y el beneficio es suyo. Ponen esos nombres en el exterior, sólo para atraer a los devotos que están de paso para que entren a su hotel y así hacer negocio. Si realmente creerían en el nombre 'Sai Baba Hotel', deberian dar comida gratis a todo el que se detiene allí. (Aplausos)

El nombre de Dios está siendo utilizado con fines humanos egoístas. Si alguien realmente ha entendido a Dios, ¿dónde está el conflicto? Es su propia perspectiva, su propia comprensión, de la que nacen sus propias ideas egoístas, que causan el conflicto.

Dios no puede ser comprendido por la mente, que está llena de egoísmo, pensando sólo en sí mismo. Dios tiene que ser experimentado con el corazón. Los que tienen corazón, no va a usar sus mentes. Aquellos que usan sus mentes, no pueden utilizar sus corazones. La mente ha creado este conflicto con su sentido del 'yo' y lo 'mío'. Es un mal uso del nombre de Dios, ya que su único propósito es el de egoísmo.

In a satsang held in the divine presence at Istanbul, Turkey, on 3 April, 2017, a devotee asked why most of the violence in the world is done in the name of God.

And here is what Swami said:

Question: Most of the violence in the world today is done in the name of God. What does Swami say about it?

Swami: It is being done in the name of God, but it is being done for one’s own selfish reasons. There are people on the roadside from Bengaluru to Puttaparthi who have many small hotels and shops. If you are travelling on that road and stop for a little snack or lunch, you will invariably see a sign with lettering that says, ‘Sai Baba Hotel’, ‘Sathya Sai Hotel’ or similar wording, with a photo of Baba. The name is ‘Sai Baba Hotel’, but all the work is their own. They place those names outside, only to attract the devotees who are passing by to come to their hotel to render business. If they truly believed in the name ‘Sai Baba Hotel’, they should give free food to everyone who stops there. (Applause)

The name of God is being used for selfish human purposes. If somebody has truly understood God, where is the conflict? It is their own perspective, their own understanding, born out of their own selfish ideas, that causes conflict.

God cannot be understood by the mind, which is full of selfishness, only thinking about itself. God has to be experienced with the heart. Those who have heart, will not use their minds. Those who use their minds, cannot use their hearts. The mind has created this conflict with its sense of ‘I’ and ‘mine’. It is a misuse of God’s name, since its only purpose is that of selfishness.
