Teníamos la costumbre de correr detrás del automóvil de Swami en Puttaparthi, que parecía muy rebelde e indisciplinado para muchos devotos. Pero a los estudiantes no les importaba lo que la gente pensara. Nuestro enfoque era Swami. Corríamos detrás de su auto. Swami disfrutaría viendo a todos los niños corriendo detrás de él. Él se sentiría muy feliz. ¡Creo que Dios también se siente feliz cuando tiene una gran demanda, ya que en la mayor parte del mundo, Dios está fuera de la demanda!
Uno de los devotos mayores (yo no citaré el nombre) obviamente se sintió frustrado por todo el asunto y dijo: '¡Swami! ¿Qué es esto? Tus estudiantes no tienen disciplina. Corren detrás de Ti y de tu automóvil de una manera tan revoltosos e indisciplinada. Y Swami se volvió muy severo. Swami dijo: "Afuera, los niños corren detrás de muchas otras cosas, mientras que aquí están corriendo detrás de Dios. ¿Qué hay de malo en eso? "(Risas).
Estoy viendo ahora, más y más personas que están corriendo detrás de Dios. Cada vez más personas se sienten atraídas por el amor puro de Dios, que es difícil de explicar con palabras.
Y me siento muy afortunado porque soy testigo de todas estas cosas, soy testigo directo de lo que está sucediendo. Estos niños no se guardan nada por sí mismos.
De nuevo, escogería a Vinod porque él ha permitido hablar sobre él. Él es un niño brillante e incluso obtuvo una beca de la Junta de Karnataka, por su buen desempeño en la 10ª clase. He ganado mucho cuando estaba trabajando, pero para decirles francamente, no he donado ni una rupia a la misión de Swami directamente. Hacia cosas por los demás afuera, pero nunca sentí que debía regresar y poner algo a los pies de Swami y decirle: '¡Swami! ¡Esto es para ti.! '...A pesar de haber obtenido tanto de él. También estudié de forma gratuita durante siete años. Vi a Swami tan de cerca. Y creo, no sé si hubiera hecho eso de sacrificar un chocolate y dárselo a Swami. Es tan sorprendente presenciar este desinterés, la
y valentía por todos lados.
Swami solía citar siempre un poema. 'Bhayam, Bhayam ... Bratuku Bhayam'- La vida está llena de miedo. Todas las personas viven con miedo constante. ¿Qué me sucederá a mí, a mi futuro y a mi familia? Todo este acaparamiento, recolección, almacenamiento y ahorro se debe a ese miedo. Y aquí están estos niños liderando el camino. Están mostrando como tenemos que ser. Ese es el futuro de este mundo que Swami está preparando. Estoy tan orgulloso y satisfecho por esta experiencia de tratar con estos Vinods de hoy que están por todas partes. En cada niño, hay un pequeño 'Vinod' merodeando en algún lado, esperando salir y hacer su parte en la misión de Swami. Es muy increíble vivir en compañía de esas personas.
Swami dijo, si hay un cielo en alguna parte, está aquí. "Este es Kailash, este es Vaikunta, y este es Brahma Loka", dijo.
No porque estoy aquí. Sino que es porque los devotos aquí son tan puros, tan buenos, tan humildes y eso se aplica a la mayoría de nosotros aquí, especialmente a los niños. Los niños pequeños pueden hacer cualquier cosa por Swami.
Hace seis meses, Swami le preguntó a un niño pequeño si alguien te pregunta quién eres, ¿qué responderías? Y luego, Swami mismo dijo, si alguien te pregunta quién eres tú; deberías decir 'soy propiedad de Swami'. Ayer, él vino con sus padres cuando fueron llamados para una entrevista, Swami le preguntó quién es usted? Me había olvidado de eso, pero prontamente me dio la respuesta, ¡soy propiedad de Swami!
No dijo su nombre o si es hijo de tal y tal. Mire la confianza y la claridad con la que respondió. Él me hizo sentir tan bien. ¿Cuántos de nosotros podemos pensar así? Eso es posible para pequeños corazones inocentes. El niño es el padre del hombre. Nos están enseñando muchas cosas.
Muchos de ustedes están tan involucrados en la misión de Swami según sus capacidades, y en varios niveles. Están haciendo todo lo que puedes desde tu capacidad para Swami. Quiero decirles y tranquilizarlos, lo que sea que estén haciendo en cualquier forma que lo hagan, todo va hacia la construcción de un futuro hermoso en el mundo. Y puedo ver los brotes verdes en todas partes ahora. Está ahí en los corazones de estos niños, maestros y personas alrededor. Uno por uno, se están volviendo desinteresados.
No se trata solo de estudiantes aquí. Una niña de Singapur insistió tanto en conocer a Swami. Ella quería darle su primer salario a Swami. ¡Nunca le di mi primer salario a Swami! No se me ocurrió, pero esta chica en Singapur con todas las distracciones de la sociedad muy materialista, muy competitiva, muy progresista y modernizada, quería hacerlo.
No es sólo esta chica. Otra chica que hizo algún tipo de trabajo en una organización voluntaria en Australia obtuvo algo de dinero por hacer el trabajo; ella envío el dinero desde Australia! ¿Qué está pasando en este mundo hoy? Estoy tan feliz de ver este tipo de transformación en este mundo.
La gente ya no es como era. Estoy viendo que el cambio ocurre en todos los niveles. Las mujeres que dejaron de comprar saris y joyas quieren contribuir con Swami. Hay alguien que ha degradado su auto y su hogar para ser parte de la misión de Swami. Todo el grupo juvenil de Fiji se juntó y está ahorrando un dólar al día al renunciar a una taza de café (son jóvenes, miembros de la sociedad que apenas ganan, en general son dependientes) para hacerse cargo de todos los gastos de viaje, y quedarse cuando los médicos de Raipur vuelen a Fiji para operar corazones allí. Esta es la transformación que Swami está llevando a cabo en todo el mundo. Veo que está sucediendo en todas partes, ya sea en el Reino Unido, Fiji, Sri Lanka, India, Singapur, EE. UU., Canadá, en todas partes. Definitivamente, el futuro dorado que Swami nos ha prometido está sucediendo lentamente día tras día, se está desarrollando. Pero es increíble, todo está sucediendo desde aquí. Esto se convierte en el epicentro de toda la revolución. Es tan asombroso que Swami nos ha elegido a nosotros y a este pequeño lugar para comenzar esta revolución que se está extendiendo por todo el mundo en este momento.
Realmente espero que todos seamos lo que Él quiere que seamos. La definición de Swami de un devoto es muy simple. Sé desinteresado, sé valiente. ¿Qué deben temer, cuando Swami está con nosotros? Y ese es el día en que empezamos a vivir al límite, como dicen, cuando realmente no saben lo que sucederá al día siguiente. Y así todavía, estás muy feliz.
Vi esta película 'Hermano Sol, Hermana Luna' junto con nuestros estudiantes. Se trata de San Francisco de Asís, una hermosa película. En esta dice su padre, si regalas toda la seda a los pobres (el padre era un comerciante de seda), no serás mi hijo. Francisco dijo: "Que así sea. Yo no soy tu hijo ". Se desnudo y salió de la casa a las calles y se convirtió en lo que se convirtió. Veo los rasgos de San Francisco de Asís en los niños de hoy. Están listos para abandonar cualquier cosa por Dios. Eso no sucede a menudo. Esto es historia, en proceso.

How rich you are, how big you are in the society, how many people follow you on Twitters and Facebooks, how many things you have achieved in your life, what is the size of your company, what is your balance sheet and turn over; He doesn’t care! .

We had this habit of running behind Swami’s car in Puttaparthi, which seemed very unruly and indisciplined to many devotees. But we students cared nothing for what people thought. Our focus was Swami. We would sprint behind His car. Swami would enjoy seeing all the boys running behind Him. He would feel very happy. I think God also feels happy when He is in demand, as God is usually out of demand in most of the world! One of the senior devotees (I would not quote the name) obviously was frustrated by the whole thing and told, ‘Swami! What is this? Your students have no discipline. They run behind You and Your car in such unruly indisciplined way. And then Swami became so stern. Swami said, “Outside, boys run behind so many other things, whereas here they are running behind God. What is wrong in that?!” ( laughter)
I am seeing now, more and more people are running behind God. More and more people are attracted by the pure love of God which is difficult to explain in words. And I feel so fortunate because I am a witness to all these things, on that a firsthand witness to what is happening. These children keep nothing for themselves. Again I would pick up Vinod because he has permitted to speak about him. He is brilliant boy and even got a scholarship from Karnataka Board for his good performance in 10th class. He is getting the scholarship every year or so, and probably he will get it till he finishes his college. He came to Swami with an envelope full of currency notes and gave it to Swami and said, “Swami! This is for You. This is the scholarship that I get, but You look after my every need, from toothpaste to clothes to shoes to food to studies. I don’t need this. This is for You.”
I have earned much better when I was working, but to tell you frankly, I have not donated even one rupee to Swami’s mission directly. I would do things for others outside, but never felt that I must go back and put something at Swami’s feet and tell, ‘Swami! This is for You!’ Despite having got so much from Him. I also studied for free for seven years. I saw Swami in such close quarters. He kept me for months at His feet and would talk to me daily, yet I never developed this feeling that I must give myself to Him this way. These boys are fearless. Yes, ‘Fearless’ is the word.
In 2012, I asked Swami. You are making me do all this. You tell me how can I be a better instrument? How can I do it well for You? He said, ‘Be Selfless, Be Fearless’. These are the only two phrases He told me. This is all I require from you. Rest, I don’t care.

In the last five years, I am seeing this happen more and more. It’s happening to students, right from higher primary school, who give up a Perk chocolate in the stores and put that money in an envelope to give to Swami and say, ‘This is for Your mission’. And I think, I don’t know if I would have done that of sacrificing a chocolate and give it to Swami. It is so amazing to witness this selflessness, fearlessness all around. Swami used to always quote a poem. ‘Bhayam, Bhayam.. Bratuku Bhayam’- Life is full of fear. All the people are living in constant fear. What will happen to me, my future, and my family? All this hoarding, grabbing, gathering, storing, saving is all because of that fear. And here are these children leading the way. They are showing what we have got to be. That is the future of this world that Swami is preparing. I’m so proud and gratified by this experience of dealing with these Vinods of today who are there everywhere. In every child, there is a little ‘Vinod’ lurking somewhere, waiting to come out and do His part in Swami’s mission. It is so very amazing to live in the company of such people.
Swami said, if there is going to be heaven anywhere, it is here. ‘This is Kailash, this is Vaikunta, and this is Brahma Loka’, He said. Not because I am here. It is because the devotees here are so pure, so good, so humble and that applies to most of us here, especially the children. The tiny tots can do anything for Swami. Six months ago, Swami asked a little boy if somebody asks you who are you, what would you reply? And then Swami Himself said, if somebody asks you who are you; you should say ‘I am Swami’s property’. Yesterday, he came with his parents when they were called for interview, Swami asked him who are you? I had forgotten about it but he promptly gave the reply, I am Swami’s property! He didn’t tell his name or if he is son of so and so. Look at the confidence and clarity with which he replied. He made me feel so good. How many of us can think like this? That’s possible for innocent little hearts. Child is the father of man. They are teaching us a lot of things.
Many of you are so involved in Swami’s mission in various capacities at various levels. You are doing everything you can in your capacity for Swami. I want to tell you and reassure you, whatever you are doing in whichever way you are doing, it’s all going towards building a beautiful future in the world. And I can see the green shoots everywhere now. It’s there in the hearts of these children, teachers and people around. One by one, they are becoming selfless. It’s not just about students here. One girl from Singapore was so insistent to meet Swami. She wanted to give her first salary to Swami. I never gave my first salary to Swami! It didn’t occur to me, but this girl in Singapore with all the distractions of the very materialistic society, very competitive, very progressive and modernized world, wanted to. It’s not just this girl. Another girl who did some kind of a work in a voluntary organization in Australia got some money for doing the work; she sends the money all the way from Australia! What’s happening in this world today? I’m so happy to see this kind of a transformation in this world. People are no more the way they were. I’m seeing the change happen at every level. The ladies who stopped purchasing saree and jewellery want to contribute to Swami. There is someone who has downgraded his car and home to be a part of Swami’s mission. The whole youth group of Fiji got together and are saving a-dollar-a-day by foregoing one cup of coffee (they are youth, barely earning members of the society, they are generally dependent) to take care of all the expenses of travel and stay when the doctors from Raipur are going to fly to Fiji to operate the little hearts there. This is the transformation Swami is bringing about across the world. I see it happening everywhere, whether it is UK, Fiji, Sri Lanka, India, Singapore, USA, Canada, everywhere. Definitely, the golden future that Swami has promised us is happening slowly steadily day after day, it’s unfolding. But it’s amazing it’s all happening from right over here. This becomes the epicenter of the whole revolution. It is so amazing Swami has chosen us and this little place to begin this revolution which is spreading all around the world at this point in time.
I really hope we all become what He wants us to become. Swami’s definition of a devotee is very simple. Be selfless, be fearless. What is to fear when Swami is with us? And that is the day when we start living on the edge as they say, when you really don’t know what’s going to happen the next day. And you are still so happy.
I watched this movie ‘Brother Sun, Sister Moon’ along with our students. It’s about St. Francis of Assisi, a beautiful movie. In that his father says, if you give away all the silk to the poor (father was a silk merchant), you cannot be my son. Francis said, “So be it. I’m not your son”. He strips himself naked and walks out of the house on to the streets and becomes what he becomes. I see the streak of St. Francis of Assissi in the children of today. They are ready to walk out on anything for God. That doesn’t happen often. This is history in the making.
