Divino milagro - Swami controla inundaciones.
Bhagavan tiene el poder de controlar la naturaleza, pero rara vez interfiere con los fenómenos naturales. Su argumento es muy simple. Él dice, "he ordenado a las fuerzas de la naturaleza y tienen sus deberes que cumplir. Sin embargo, cuando se convierte en absolutamente esencial para el bienestar de la humanidad, interviene de una manera benigna. Como " Cuando el joven Krishna, levantó una colina, para proteger a la gente de su pueblo de un diluvio. Sai también ha hecho varias veces cosas similares.
Un ejemplo es el proporcionado por las inundaciones de 1973.
Ese año, gracias a lluvias muy intensas, hubo una inundación sin precedentes en el río Chitravati.
Las agua cubrieron todas las partes bajas de Puttaparthi, y llegaron hasta el Ganesha y las puertas Gopuram. El Ashram está en unos terrenos relativamente altos, las aguas aún no habían entrado en sus edificios, sino que estaba amenazando con hacerlo.
Mientras tanto, todos los aldeanos se congregaron en el Ashram en busca de refugio. La compasión Bhagavan no sólo permitió a los pobladores que buscaran refugio, sino que también les proporcionó alimentos.
El clima siguió siendo inclemente, y parecía como si el nivel del agua podría aumentar aún más. En esta etapa, Baba se dirigió al este del Ashram de Prashanti y se subió a la terraza. Desde allí miró hacia abajo el río desbordado, y le susurró algo. La gente cercana no podía entender lo que Swami estaba diciendo, pero pudo escuchar claramente la palabra Shanti repetida tres veces.
Si bien pidió al río que se calmara, Baba también elevó sus manos en un gesto de bendición. Milagrosamente, las aguas comenzaron a retirarse de inmediato, y en pocas horas, la gente que se había cobijado en el Ashram pudo volver a sus hogares.
También hubo ocasiones en que Swami, rechazo enérgicamente la intervención. Una vez, durante un discurso, estaba lloviendo a cántaros. Los devotos oraron que la lluvia se detuviera, pero Baba desestimó la solicitud. Explicó que si bien la lluvia podría ser un inconveniente para ellos, los agricultores estaban esperando con impaciencia precisamente este aguacero. Swami maravillosamente añadió, los devotos no deben ser egoístas.

Divine Miracle - Taming the Raging Floods
Bhagawan has the power to control Nature but He rarely interferes with natural phenomena. His argument is very simple. He says, "I have ordained the forces of Nature and they have their duties to perform. However, when it becomes absolutely essential for the welfare of mankind, I intervene in a benign manner." As young Krishna, he lifted an entire hill to protect the people of His village from a deluge. As Sai too, He has several times done similar things. One example is provided by the floods of 1973.
That year, thanks to very heavy rain, there was an unprecedented flood in the Chitravathi river. Water submerged all the low-lying parts of Puttaparthi, and came right up to the Ganesha and the Gopuram gates. The Ashram being at a relatively higher elevation, the flood waters had not yet entered its premises, but were threatening to do so. Meanwhile, all the villagers flocked into the Ashram seeking shelter. The compassionate Bhagavan not only allowed the villagers to take shelter but also provided them with food.
The weather continued to be inclement, and it appeared as if the water level might rise even further. At this stage, Baba went to the East Prasanthi block of flats, and climbed up to the terrace. From there He looked down at the overflowing river, and whispered something. People nearby could not make out what Swami was saying but they could clearly hear the word Shanti being repeated three times.
While 'advising' the river to calm down, Baba also raised His hands in a gesture of benediction. Miraculously, the flood waters began to recede immediately, and within a few hours, the people huddled in the Ashram could go back to their homes.
There are also occasions when Swami emphatically refuses to intervene. Once during a Discourse, it was raining heavily. Devotees prayed that the rain be stopped but Baba brushed aside the request. He explained that while the rain might be an inconvenience for them, the farmers were eagerly looking forward to precisely this downpour. Devotees must not be selfish, Swami wonderfully added.
